Admiral James

i personally say do a bit of both like a good mix but that is me

Justin "Johnist" Johanson

My vote is Lore Heavy and Kingdom Building. You can easily mark those chapters for those who want to skip them with a crown emoji/icon and book emoji/icon

Bob Bryan

I also wouldn't mind lore heavy and kingdom building. But maybe not go full Tolkien.

Lynderyn

I’ll go with a, b, and d (something more). It would be nice to hear about the rest of the dwarves as it feels as if Grotgar would be one of many dwarven kings

Nozzy

I like lore heavy stuff, makes the world seem richer and fuller, than just one major problem/adventure after the next

D3monEmper0r

more lore-filled training I would say but its hard to say what you mean with "moving slow". I think the progression speed of the Glimervale volume is good and you should maybe take the same pasting in this to be volume as well..?!

Dan Garff

I honestly wouldn't mind a "slower" volume if it helps the characters grow and fleshes out the world. When done right those can be the best volumes.

Jonathan

Silvia definitely has a way with her *worlds*. Should be words. If maybe split up among other things, like a chapter or two in the dungeon/training and then one about town affairs. Could maybe even if timeline is a problem, have "Two weeks earlier" etc.

JonO

I think the lore and kingdom building is important but not as much as them having adventure. Id say a montage of the l&kb as needed split with adventuring and when we get to a particularly juicy bit of lore or kb... then dedicate what you need to it. But honestly do what feels best. It's your show

SiI3nt

A mix would do fine, maybe also have ast decide on whether he will have many future wives/lovers. Maybe a full discussion with his current partners? Or maybe cut increasing the harem size after Althea if she joins. Fleshing out the story will also help with future progression in adventures and fighting.

Ralph

Awesome chapter! I think it’s time for some kittens! I looking forward to the dungeon too.

AceSenko

I think lore/world building and settling into their new kingdom would be good. You can always hold off on the dungeon to make it the main climax of the book or something like that too, though I don’t know if you already had solid plans for pacing

Andrew Jenkins

I'd love if the dragon lore and training was detailed. The dungeoning might be better to flesh out then the kingdom building, but you don't want to completely cut it out. So far, you've done an amazing job with giving enough details to everything without feeling like it's plodding alone.

Andrew Poe-Bowdren

I enjoy going along for the ride so no thoughts there, but… “We are starting no cults.” He shuddered. Now, where have we seen that before? (Cue headcanon special episode of Ast summoning one of Al’s girls and hosting a meet and greet)

Timothy Langin

I would say go lore heavy/ kingdom building for at least a little while mixing in a little adventure. We could use some time revisiting/ building character relationships outside of ast and the girls

Kaleb Whightsel

I would split it 60% training/ adventure 40% kingdom building with a medium amount of lore building to keep the pace just right. Otherwise it might change your series from fun and interesting to boring slog to get through.

Rhys

More Lore and depth!

NopiSoul

A good mix of lore&kingdom building with adventure should be good this volume. But you should think about kitten soon.

S.C. Strigaris

Mhh Dragon Lore, Kingdom Building would be great

Julian Lachner

I think we dont need that much progress maybe more dragon lore amd see a bond between the two dragons, with other perspectives of the girls so that they are not always in one cluster

Ryan

Yeah Im really into the world building, old acquaintances, lore. I feel like a slower pace would be fun for a book.

Steven Bartels

I would love to learn more about the setting and Asts powers. We don't know exactly what happened when he sat on the black throne again. He promised his grandparents to visit all their stores and warehouses for easy transfers a couple books ago. He wanted to visit a proper dwarven metropolis around when we met grotger. The dragon training and lore is fascinating and world building is important, it makes things interesting. While fights can be fun stories where there's practically nothing but fighting and enemies and occasionally allies dying aren't fun. I think you have a decent balance and shouldn't worry too much. We had plenty of fighting in the last three books too, a little downtime to consolidate gains and build a base from which to adventure more could be good. After all, they haven't been in glimmervale much since getting it and future adventures include inter-realm politics and populations. Both Glimmervale and Asts powers should be developed before he goes off to make Bryn a queen, allow passage between realms, kill a god, and unseel the nethernight realm, etc.

Lee

Personally I’d love to have tons of details for the dungeon (been a while since we were in one, and some of the newer members haven’t yet), but details about training I think would also be great. Not as sure about Kingdom building unless it’s going to stay relevant, otherwise maybe similar details to AST’s gifts with short sections from each of his friends/mates with some longer ones for more important matters. I’d love to have all the details, but that’s just me, don’t want a repeat of Wheel of Time for those who read some of the middle books where nothing really seemed to happen aside from meetings.

Dayak

Yup I’d like more of everything need more royal whining complaining about loosing part of a kingdom lol. But more lore would be great too and slow is fine as long as it gets somewhere!

Stephen Juba

the slice of life aspect of the book is what keeps me coming back, cant be action all the time.

shifter1987

Most of the info drop chapters can be published as a "side chapter." info dumps can be tedious for readers and authors as it is they' are mostly growth numbers and backpedaled lore. Putting them as side chapters can alleviate release deadlines and allow you to flesh out the main events in the story.

David Salinas

I would love some more of the world and lore building. I know the action is going to be great so I’m fine waiting a little longer for it.

Andy Barber

I Nominate Kaguya to be the new Dungeon Master!
