I'm keeping this post up for the Q&A in the comments section.

This is the OLD POST and the votes are closed. These will not count.

Next chapter will have to cement Himiko's template and I'm still fussing over the choices.

What do the readers want to see?

Mundane Support Skills will have Himiko be more active as a secretary-esque position for Hitoshi, running numbers and being close to him while handling mundane tasks (Himiko Likes This). Same level of dependence on Hitoshi, little personality shift.

Transhuman Lite will have Himiko run battlefield support and be more active 'in the field' while still receiving a boost to non-combat skills and capabilities. Decreased level of dependence on Hitoshi, moderate personality shift. (A middle-ground between what Himiko wants and what Hitoshi thinks is 'good' for her.)

Future Tech Engineer will have Himiko focus on rear-line support, usually staying out of combat in order to create support items or legitimize the existence of things that Hitoshi acquires through The Company. Increased level of dependence on Hitoshi, little personality shift. (Hitoshi consider this the most 'optimal.')

Vampire Enhancement will have Himiko focus on a combat role instead of any kind of support, but potentially rise to meet upper-level threats native to MHA with time, training, and experience. Strongly decreased dependence on Hitoshi, potentially large personality shift. (Hitoshi considers this a way to force Himiko to confront her vampirism, which she is obviously uncomfortable with and ensure her survival long-term.)

What’s causing the personality shifts? Is it just natural development because of how she needs to apply skills? How the skill download will make her re-examine her life and go ‘taht was a stupid idea’ or straight personality bleed from the template chosen?

The problem is that there isn't much to Himiko right now in terms of personality. It makes templates change her more substantially than they otherwise would. Being made up of pieces of other people she's collected over the years will do that.

I mainly asked because there’s a difference between her template giving her a behind the scenes look of how a functional human being operates, that she can build herself up to, A foreign personality basically hijacking’s the himiko pieces and wearing them like a suit and himiko failing just enough that she wasn’t really fixed she just figured out how to hide it better

When you mentioned templates I thought you were going for characters, not outright skill templates. Anyways I always like how authors explore transhumanism so that is my vote.

I wish Patreon had a ranking system. I like the options to different degrees. Future Tech is my favorite and makes me think of Pepper Potts from Iron Man, Secretary makes me picture Moneypenny and Q from James Bond, I can't picture anyone for Transhuman Lite but is ok, and lastly I hate the idea of forcing her into feeding the vampire theme of her quirk.

It'll still be Himiko no matter what, she'll just have a variable amount of 'other' in her that she'll have to learn to cope with. Some offer more 'other,' some offer less 'other.'

Pepper is more on the secretary path like moneypenny. Future tech would be a more Mei type role, and Transhuman makes me personally think of “Natalie Rushman” aka black widow from Iron man 2, a secretary type that can also kick ass when needed.

Ugh, this just makes me want to get a mix of all of them. So probably Transhuman Lite, but I'd most like something that really gives her tools to both cope with the mental absorption and synergize with and control the shapeshifting--my first thought is shapeshifting AI like an Asuran from Stargate, which feels like it hits the best points of all 4 while also opening up personality development through +Int without including a personality, but that might just mean it would blow out the template tier cap.

I feel like becoming an AI would be the perfect solution to Himiko's mental issues +quirk. Both the improved ability to perceive your own mind, and sort of having more "space" for absorbed bits. As well as more intelligence and objectivity to see the problems with other people. If not a possibility for this time, maybe a future template or other upgrade (there are some non-template means of AI-ification, depending on the version you're using, iirc). But then again I kind of feel like most problems get solved by becoming an AI, so I might be kind of biased here. (An Alucard/Seras template might be a poor-man's approach at the same thing while also being a vampire. You might be able to request one from the company pre-loaded with some useful excess souls?)

Well, it's only been a few hours, so better to do it now than wait. Personally, I would say yes, because there were a couple options I would like, one I could live with, and one I disliked. So, being able to click multiple options would be a good thing from my perspective.

I think the rest was the right call since you can see the difference in how people vote. The whole only one vote always makes it so you only have 2 options. Which is a bad system.
