I wasn't planning on doing it like this but the idea has sort of taken root and now I am not sure what to do. The plan was to write Warlock and then obviously Lake and Matty's book but the two couples are so intertwined I'm contemplating doing something similar that I did with Headcase and Mad Man where i have them on the same timeline but this time intertwining the story so you get both 'sides' of the investigation into the case they're working.

That would mean a couple of chapters overlapping in the books but from a different POV but it would also mean you could tandem read them together if you wanted or separately without issue. I don't know why I do this to myself. They would both be two fully formed, easily read alone stories, but they could be read in tandem if people wanted to. I have no clue if I'm smart enough to be able to pull this off like whats in my head but would a couple of overlapping chapters bother you or would that be okay?

Mackenzie Hayman

Yes I immediately thought this is what would happen when I read chapter 1! I love intertwining books !

Mary Moyer

Genius idea!! I would love this

Trae

Yes please. A two part foursome

Jennifer-HEAorGTFO

Yes. I read Headcase and Mad Man in tandem every time. It totally works. You are magic.

Rachel

Oooh. I like it! If you can do it without making yourself too stressed, I’m all for it!

Trae

You are a god an I just can’t wait

Lulu T.

Honestly it sounds epic!

Morgan S. Hazelwood

Love the intertwined dual point of view. But also, I was tempted for that secret fourth option.

M.

Yes I want that but truefully i would take anything. You got this!!

Cathy Heim

I absolutely love this idea! I think it makes perfect sense! But also, if you can’t make it work, don’t stress yourself out!

Lia Wolfer

Lowkey just wanted to vote for the secret 4th option just because It’s a secret and I am curious 🤣 but I didn’t. Lol

Cass

Secret 4th Option: whichever one won’t send you into a mental health spiral. Lol.

Winn

This could be 🔥🔥

lisa plante

That sounds sooooo good, most importantly you come first. I'm sure like me we are all here for however long it takes to read the musings of your brilliant mind. When I get in a slump I go back to necessary evils more than I care to admit and elite protection 😎

Maureen Hart

You can do it. You have before. It might make it easier than trying to separate the ideas in your head, just work it all out at the same time.

AM Olson

I love this style, even though I never read the Alexandria Quartet which is usually considered the originator. Of all the weirdness, Jude Deveraux did a really good pair with two sisters as well. It's a lot of fun as a reader!

Lely

Because u r amazing and love us lol

Hayli Meyer

If we could just get little inserts in the table of contents saying which chapter from which book went where (did that make sense?) then we could read a few chapters of one, then switch books if we wanted to read the plot in order, or read through one then the other and not worry about it (like Headcase/Madman). So like.. 1. Matty 2. Lake 3. Matty 3.7 Cree (other book ch 7) 4. Matty 5. Lake 5.12 Jordan (other book ch 12) Etc. And vice vs in the other book… did this at all make sense???

Onley James

Omg. I used to love Jude Deveraux when I was in middle school. I devoured her books. I would steal them from my grandmother.

Samuel Frey

Screaming yes from the top of the tallest building.

Kristine 💜

Yessssssssssss. As long as it doesn’t become too ridiculously difficult.

Hayli Meyer

Oh good. So then you could see “after chapter 3 I should switch to the other book and read through ch 7, then I can switch back”.

Gina Polly

My secret 4th option vote is it sounds cool and would be fun to read but please don't make yourself crazy forcing it of it doesn't feel right

Shelby Holder

Girl, yes! 👏👏🫶 Absolutely do that! I am in love with that idea! 💜

Charlie459!!

The squeal I just let out reading this !!! 1000% yes (as long as you don’t overwork yourself and can manage it of )

Kelly M Tuanau

Straight up YES but like everyone saying no stressing yourself with it💚🧡I originally begged for Cree & Jordan to be next even tho it was technically meant to be Matty and Lake next🤭But after reading the intro of them finally meeting face to face & Lake giving Matty orders (Littterally pushing him so they can talk)Has me wanting more😅😊ugh see what i mean when I say multiple times how I love your writing. It's cŕáćƙ for me😂

April

Does the secret 4th option include another foursome?

CassyCakes

Is there a 5th option? However your brain is thinking about doing it 🤣

Saleena Davidson

I am down for whatever you want to try. Your brain is an amazing place

Stephany

I am always a fan of an author challenging themselves. It can be really great. Think positive. We believe in you.

Olana Owen

Whatever you write I will love, treasure and buy in ebook and audio

AM Olson

I was so bummed when she stopped doing her historicals. She was the author who got me into researched historical books.

Melanie Silvana

Yessss please 🥺 but don’t stress yourself 🍀 I love both couples so much 😍

Katherine L Schlem

Anything you want, however a foursome would be great (and even and 8-some with the core four) I'm a bad bad girl) so spank me.

Brittany Lozano

That’s sounds like a great idea, but like everyone is saying please don’t stress yourself. Also curious about secret 4th option

Kia

I love tandem reads with switched POVs. Riley hart has done it, I think lark Taylor did it it really really makes me happy when we get the exact same scene just from a different POV. I know it had to be edited to hell and back so it lines up but I just love it when it happens.

Lulu T.

Ooh! Would you happen to have a guide?

Jennifer-HEAorGTFO

It won’t let me post an image. I’m @heaorgtfo on IG. Can you message me?

TheKittyMommy3

I would so be down with that. However!!! If you decide it’s too much, I will read those stories however you choose to write them.

Anne Charpentier

I would love that! Of course I would be ok with anything since I love the boys so much

AudioAddict

You should totally read the Alexandria Quartet! It's an amazing read- but I had no idea it was the pioneering POV set of books.. good to know. Thanks for sharing that bit of trivia! We DID name a bunch a feral kittens in our backyard after the title characters 😀

Lauren Gibbs

I have absolute faith you will pull it off!! I think it just makes so much sense for the stories to intertwine, just like it did for Asa and Avi! 👏🏻👏🏻

AM Olson

I'll have to check them out, literally. I'm super broke these days!

Marissa Cairns

By 'don't care,' I mean whatever you do is fine.

Krissy K

If you do that, if there's anything important different, could you make a comment about it (obviously you don'thave to, I'd just appreciate it)?...I sometimes have trouble with those kinds of chapters if I read them really close together 😂 so I'll skim/skip

Aimi Yokaiko

All I can think for the secret fourth option is making them a two part novel and bounce between all four POVs lol - but I think that plan you put out sounds amazing!

Maddie P

Do we still get to have two full books? Selfishly I want more to read! I will read whatever you write though one book or two I’m all in!

Onley James

Yes. The whole point is 2 full books that can be read together or alone

Lulu Parm

Of course you're talented enough ❤️

kate

one of my favorite things is the same story from multiple povs i am all for this idea!

Amelia

i love this idea! maybe you thought of it because your brain is feeling feisty. give it a try and of it doesn't work out we'll still end up with one-click books from you 💜

Edward Wajs

You’ve treated us to this several times, even with the triple-tap phone call of August to Adam while Noah was tied to the bed. You not only have the skill, you have a track record of success with this. Given the next level friendships between Lake and Cree as well as Jordan and Matty, it makes sense for them to spill into each other’s stories.

Salli

I love headcase & madman and intertwined stories! do ittt 😍

Idril CFE

Please do. We love to torture you and you love to torture us ;)

Melanie Silvana

But first you will Release warlock and than the other book or do you releas both at the same time but of course later?

Lindsay Katzer

When I saw the title of this post I was hoping you'd say your idea was tandem books!

Kim Adams

Yes, I would love this, but only if it’s not a thing where you would stress yourself sick.

Carmen L

I want it how you want to write it. Your words on pages equals a very happy reader.

Danielle Maas

However works best for you. I just really want to read both there stories and i dont mind how as long as i get to read them <3

Ashley Rangel

Whatever is easiest, but i do like the overlapping timeliness to get ALL the details from everyone at that tjme

Leslie Stephenson

The Monstrous Deeds/Survivors series did this and it was great. There’s a rescue scene at the end of the second book, and subsequent books show it from different characters points of view. The same goes for the safe house the survivors end up in. The author, tj hamel, builds upon the family dynamic with each subsequent book, while creating more depth with each couple. If you haven’t read it, I’d highly recommend the series. They’re dark, though.

Leslie Stephenson

Though, you’ve already managed to do the same with your series, even without the overlap. 😁

Melissa O.

I'd say what you find easiest! However, why not instead of the two separate books do a special book of both couples and the cover a feature of both main guys most likely Cree and Lake? Unless this is similar to what you are asking then ignore this lol.

Melissa

The idea of deliberate stand alones with a tandem element? Such fun! I'm always impressed by timelines and plots and all the things!! If it's something that calls to you and you feel excited about and the muse agrees?? I say go for it!!

McCandless

I love this type of story telling! Getting the same scene from different perspectives, especially when you're looking forward to a specific character's take or reaction is so so so fun

Lozzy

I love this idea but would be happy either way!

Tiffany

I think it would be awesome but if it becomes too much work obviously don’t do it

LetsGoToya

My secret 4th option is not so much a secret as it is just...yes and? I care but whichever way that it moves your spirit to write those stories is what I want to see. I love the insanity and would love to experience that but its not a deal breaker to my readership if you decide not to go that route. Did that make any sense all?
