Trigger Warning: Burnout, Politics, Mental Health and those Files

I’m gonna be real with you, the last few days have been hard. I’ve written through grief, burnout, and creative blocks, but this? This hit different. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, that right there tells you the state of our country. I've been grumpily dissociating through everything up until now.

As someone who’s worked in psych, who’s met certain people in power, and who spends most of their time building fictional worlds that feel safer than our own, it’s jarring to watch the veil lift on some of the darkest corners of reality. And I say that as someone who has researched torture at length for my books.

The testimonies. The files. The absolute inhumanity of it all. I’ve been gutted. I haven’t been sleeping. I’ve been crying at my desk. I’ve been trying to focus — and I am working — but yeah, I’ve been staring at a wall more than I’ve been staring at my screen.

I debated whether to share this with you at all, but if I’m always asking you to trust me with your time, your support, your attention, then I owe you honesty. Just based on some of your social media posts, I know you are feeling it, too. So I wanted you to know that you're not alone in this if you are questioning your own reality right now.

I don’t want to spiral into the details of what specifically has pushed me to the edge but after years of working in children's psych I can tell you I am horrified by the depths of depravity in people. I'm sure some of you have seen the posts filled with details and maybe even heard the interviews, but if you haven't, that's okay too.

I only saw them (against my will) thanks to the lack of a trigger warning on a video that I can never unhear. I try to protect my peace while still staying informed, while still doing what I can to help, but the tism in me cannot stand the injustice of it all. I want to rage, to burn, to set the Mulvaney's loose on them all.

But that's not what this is about exactly.

What I will say is this: If you’ve been feeling it too (the grief, the rage, the helplessness) you’re not alone. And if you’ve been wondering why your brain doesn’t want to cooperate right now, why you feel hollow or frozen or haunted, I see you.

I’m still writing. Still creating. Slowly. Stubbornly. Because I believe that stories are a kind of rebellion. A kind of healing. And I know that readers need that now more than ever but holy shit, guys. If a man unzipped his skin and a lizard stepped out, I wouldn't be surprised at this point. I'm just...I don't know what I am, honestly.

Though you might not believe it from everything I just posted above, I do feel that something better has to come next. It has to. And I mean it. I feel a shift coming. A huge one. But what comes before that, I don't know. If you want to vent, feel free. If you want to ignore this, please do.

I wish I could end this on something profound that makes everything better, but I just don't know what that would be.

Stay safe out there.

Stay safe as well, we love and care for you not just your writing.

Shannon

Stay safe.

Joey Blue

Maaan, I feel this on a soul deeply level. All of it.

Rebecca

All of what is happening reminds me of something I learned in high school. No higher power created hell because humans were perfectly capable of doing it themselves. Stay safe, everyone. Sending mom hugs.

Katherine Farmer

Watching all this happen from the outside (sort of, the UK is always heating up in somewhat the same vain as the states) is mental. I don’t understand how anyone is getting through anything. I imagine violence against the villains in the Mulvaney world can only bring so much comfort but I agree that any creativity in a time of violence is an act of rebellion.

Courtney Slater

I lost my mom the Friday before Christmas, & I have been existing in a world of meh since then. I'm coming up on my first bday without her, & I have one spoon left right now, a BABY FOOD spoon. I spend a LOT of time napping or playing "tablet games".

Dri D

Agreed! I just keep telling myself this is part of history, like every horrible event I hope once everything works out we can take lessons from all this but it's so hard to see and be around (I work in healthcare). I'm so happy you're still writing and rebeling in the way you can! We love reading your stories and feel like we are all in this with you! Now I get to hypothesize about how the Mulvaneys would handle all these things and what they would say about it.

Jennifer Pray-Smith

I’m 💯 in the same state right now. I have to believe it will get better but every time I think that it just gets worse!

Sarah Wilson

As my grandmother would say this country is going to hell in a hand basket. No joking aside just when you think it wont get worse your wrong. I keep thinking I will wake up from this nightmare but I dont. I always knew there was evil in this world but this is a whole new level.

Krissy K

I think The Mulvaney's would be heavily rejoiced throughout the real world right now.

Kana C. Rey

Writing and reading for me has always been sorta healing. It allows me to take the tragedy of reality and see it through to a better happier ending. Especially in situations in which I feel powerless

Onley James

When my mom died in 2013 I did nothing but sleep and scroll Tumblr like a teen for what seemed like forever. She was mean enough to die two days before mother's day so that holiday is tainted forever. My point is, if all you have is a baby spoon then just use that until you can do a little more.

Wings'n'Whimsy

Thank you for putting it into words, Onley. Thanks for sharing - because I'm right there with you. I've only read one of the statements. I listened to the summary of a dozen more. And then I used a shit ton of privelege and stepped away from the details because the rage, the helplessness, the hurt, the everything, became a physical response. I've been nauseous for days. I've been tense and furious, disassociating and on a hair trigger, for days. I've poured it into writing and painting, myself. I'll step back into it, I can't ignore it, I won't. But it helps knowing there are those who choose to see, interact with, and understand the depth and depravity of it all, instead of ignoring it all to pretend the world isn't on fire and the people in power aren't monsters of the worst variety. Thank you for making creation a mode of resistance. I'll see you there.

Wings'n'Whimsy

P.s. I wish you could set the Mulvaney's on them all. If you ever feel like writing that out, I don't think I'm alone in saying we'd enjoy the fuck out of that.

Elizabeth Gunther

After the last murder, I was talking to my therapist about how while I’m angry about the state of things I feel like I’m still managing to function because my entire life has been utter chaos. I’ll be 40 this year and have no clue what it’s like to have a boring existence. I’m definitely handling things better than my parents, who both had stable childhoods. That said, I want to burn it all down. I keep imagining what type of device Aidan would build to torture these monsters and how we’d all gather round to watch their deaths the way the Mulvaneys and Jericho’s Boys watched Bev’s demise. Your books as well as those by Kelly Fox and Sloane Kennedy are helping me so much. When I read about the “calendar girls” party, I immediately thought of a scene in Unbroken by Sloane Kennedy in which her vigilantes infiltrated a similar event and made sure every single one of the pedophilic monsters got what was coming to them. The other night, I stayed up far too late finishing the newest Wildlings book by Kelly Fox because it brought such catharsis to me. Thank you so much for continuing to write the Mulvaney Universe. I hope writing these stories help you channel your rage and hopelessness, so that you reach the same sort of peace your books have given me.

Courtney Slater

Thank you for this! 🖤 For the most part, I've been ok, but I feel like my 1st bday without her is what might break me.

Anastasiya Shubina

Thank you for putting this into words. I've been spiraling and just so blank. Thank you.

Nari

where are the real-life Mulvaneys when you need them, am I right? but in all seriousness - I'm sorry you're going through this. as I am not from US, I'm watching and learning from the news and it's quite jarring and I'm very sorry it's happening. it's understandable if you need a break, your mental health comes first, so please don't strain yourself. I'm keeping my thoughts with you and sending you hugs from across the globe 💜

Jessica Starbird

Evil thrives in the darkness. As a society we need to keep shining the light onto every slimy rock and into every dark corner. Never stop fighting and make your voice heard .

Elizabeth Gunther

Kelly Fox’s Casual Felonies takes place in the near future and mentioned killing and feeding the fascists responsible for the “concentration camp in Florida” to the family alligators. That was super helpful to read earlier this week.

Lauren Gibbs

It isn't something that makes me happy, having a shared experience like this. But it does make me feel better to know that there are other people out there just as upset about this as I am and just as upset about the state of our world. I appreciate your honesty and both you and your books bring me an IMMENSE amount of comfort 🥹

Onley James

Yeah my therapist kept telling me revenge is not the answer and its a slippery slope but I'll be slip sliding happily. I write books about Vigilantes for a reason. I am the first to say roll out the guillotine. I believe with every fiber of my being that of you hurt animals or children there is no place for you in this world.

Elizabeth Gunther

I’d happily watch every one of their heads roll if someone brought out the guillotine. I’ve never been a death penalty person, but I’m finding that if we have irrefutable proof of how evil and depraved someone is, I’m ok with it. If any of those people manage to survive this, so will their trafficking ring. They all need to die.

Erin Nelson

I'm 💯 feeling it, too. I live in the Twin Cities, MN, and while I'm on the outer edges of everything, I'm still doing what I can to be involved and make a difference. Confronting my family, leaning into and encouraging my community... And being very vocal on Threads. Shit is very heavy right now. You are right about it feeling like there's been a shift, too. Here, our communities have come together in ways I've never experienced before. And while the US seems to be disinclined to prosecute a single person in the files, the rest of the world has no such qualms. I think they will be the ones who bring them down. What all they have the authority to do, I have no idea, but they aren't playing, and that gives me hope that they will find a way. And if not, we will save ourselves. That is very much the overarching feeling here, that no one is coming to save us, and we are building the blocks to ensure we can save ourselves. Yes, it's scary, but we are brave.

Judye Nazareth

I feel it. I have actually been unable to finish many books. Anything too fluffy feels fake and unrelatable. I am either scrolling choir pieces and animal videos or rage-knitting. Knitting a Melt the ICE hat this weekend.

Theresa Derwin

I think you're right about the shift, more instances of people pushing back. Much love x

Maggie

Im rereading the hunger games right now, in timeline order rather than publishing order. I have to imagine, to picture that rebellion and better things will come from a few standing up, putting their foot down and saying enough is enough

Ashley Gallegos

Sometimes it feels like im going insane because everyone around me just wants to ignore everything that's been happening and I'm just so mad and so disheartened by everything. Your books have been an escape that helps me cope with all the disgusting things of this country. Thank you for still writing for us🥹

April

I had a male friend help me put this into some semblance of perspective. 2000 years ago, this happened and everyone knew about it because women were seen as property, chattel, slaves to men in power. Over time, society became less tolerant (I'd like to say people became more empathetic). That doesn't mean men in power changed with society. It meant that it became less visible, underground. This light that's shining on it, this shift...it's hard to hear about and read...but it has to happen in order for it to be burned to the ground. People in power think they have no impunity. I see this as the beginning of a reckoning.

Onley James

Its not the trafficking that shocked me. Ive known about that for years. Its the killings, the casual talk of buying babies, abuse to animals and eating people. A woman on TikTok was going over Sasha Rileys interview about what happened to him as a child and I wanted to puke. Hell they think they solved a cold case off these files. Its all so much bigger and more disgusting than I ever imagined. And the women involved, ones that weren't groomed but actively participated, like my God.

Krys

I haven’t seen the video but I read about it and know what the audio said and I burst into tears - I can’t imagine hearing it, but at the same time this needs to be blown wide open…. And the people that need understand seem to have the wool pulled over their eyes. I feel like I’m gonna blow up. That being said I appreciate you saying this so much. People staying silent are making me feel absolutely insane I really can’t thank you enough. And in saying something it just brings more people out and pushing forward showing that there are more of us, more pushing back and more standing up unwilling to let this go (HOW???)

Onley James

Its weird because if you follow astrology, we were in a 14 year cycle of delusion where people were able to fool us but now that we have moved into a new planet, it said that we would see everything for what it really is. And like clockwork, they dropped this clusterfuck. The whole global structure is rotten at its core. Dismantle it all and start over if necessary

Lofgrenlight501

I accidentally read a little of what was in the files and my ptsd hasn’t been this activated in years. I couldn’t sleep last night and my muscles ache with the adrenaline in my system. It probably doesn’t help that I have a 3 month old daughter (and an almost 3 year old). I’m not okay. I’m grateful for all my years of therapy because I’m pulling out all the coping mechanisms today

Angelina (Charlies version) ♟️

Giving up and giving in to panic & misery is EXACTLY what *they* want you said it perfectly create stubbornly because stories are their own rebellion there's a reason people say the pen is mighter than the sword I dont think a lot of people realize how many "radical" ideas & revolutions started through writing far more than have ever been by violence and even if it started with violence it always ends with writing

Aimi Yokaiko

Power always has a tendency to corrupt those already twisted enough - to know they can participate and engage their sickest fantasies without repercussions. But the universe knows their evil, and Karma ALWAYS cashes in her debts. Yes I am disassociating more and more as the pile of absolute depravity coming out grows larger by the day - but I also HEAVILY appreciate those refusing to be distracted from the issues, refusing to ignore the files and the victims/survivors. I heavily believe in Karma and that you will eventually hit absolute bottom, which is when the healing and rebuilding can happen. Thank you for stepping forward to voice your thoughts - you are always an example of "I'm not okay and that's okay".

CassyCakes

I think sharing helps those of us that want to know where authors stand and who to support. It’s helped me realized that we’re not alone. I do think TW warnings should be added and if people want to know details they should look into. The way you wrote this was perfect.

SANDRA ETTLINGER

We’re living in a world where anything goes and nobody seems to care about what’s right or what’s wrong, about abusing power, and targeting the weak. What was once unthinkable is now normal, all you have to do is watch what is going on in our government and society. As long as you have people in power who will protect their corrupt friends and colleagues, there is no justice or accountability. Sorry if I’m a little off topic, but WTF has happened to decency and kindness and morality? How the fuck these horrible people feel they can act with impunity is just sick. Yes, there needs to be a reckoning, and soon! I don’t know how bad it has to get before there is real change and accountability. At this point it’s hard to have hope because so much of the country is either delusional or doesn’t give a shit and even when all these horrible things come out, where is the change? Where is the accountability? It just makes me so sad that we can’t do better. But I’m glad there are safe spaces where we can express ourselves and be honest about our thoughts and feelings - we all need to stay strong, even though it’s hard.

Christina

Thank you for posting this. My anger, grief, confusion and frustration makes me feel alone and powerless. We need the full power of the Mulvaneys, Murder Muppets and Project Watchtower to bring justice back.

Onley James

I guess thats what really breaks me. Its not that I ever thought rich people had morals but the things they did, the things they could even conceive of doing to children, animals, anything helpless. How does hurting something helpless make you powerful? It doesn't. it just makes you weak.

SANDRA ETTLINGER

And Thank God for you and other authors that give me good escapism, because I wouldn’t be able to function as a fairly normal person without them!!!

Kia

The world is a mess. I say this as a Black woman who is not surprised by anything anymore. It makes my feed regardless even the worst parts like the canibalism so I’m just protecting my peace. It’s Black history month and I’m trying to stay in Black spaces or just read the people who I know are worth my time. I don’t usually follow along but I’ve been actively reading you and the others who I sub to because the escape of the things I’ve known my entire life are the little things that bring me joy. It’s going to get worse we all know this because there are still so people who are just now seeing the horrors that others have seems for decades. We haven’t hit the bottom yet.

Aimi Yokaiko

I 100% agree - it makes them weak for giving into the monster inside of them. It makes them weak for taking advantage. Humanity just continues to both disgust and surprise me with both the depths of depravity it caves but also with how stronger they can become in being louder, reaching hands out to help those in need.

Kiki Clark

Me yesterday: "god why am I being so unproductive this week?!" Me yesterday after ten minutes on social media: "Oh right... hard to be creative when all this is happening"

Ariel Rebecca McDougal

Thank you for your work, it has been one of the few things keeping my head above water hearing and seeing all the news. I spoke about you and your books to my therapist because they help so much to see injustice righted. I want the Mulvanys and friends to take care of the powerful people causing all of them. I know that's a dream but it does help to get to have that dream because of you. Thank you

Christina Overholt

I suggest Noah for president so he can clean house Mulvaney style! New sticker idea: Fiction keeps me functional.

Onley James

I cant imagine how frustrating it must be listening to a bunch of white people wake up and be surprised at shit you've known forever. I always knew in an abstract way but while its not easy to read about things that happened in the past and are still happening there was always a level of disconnect. You can empathize but never know the fear until you've lived it. Now some of us are experiencing that fear and its all very very clear that no matter how much we thought we knew, we never did. I always knew men had the capacity for disgusting acts and that white women often weaponized white tears to prioritize their safety over others but I'd be lying if I said I expected more from women when it comes to the disgusting shit in those files. And I shouldn't have. Because they reach a level of wealth where they can have anything so they operate on a level of existence where the poor aren't people to them. Sorry for the rant.

Kelsey Sorensen

Thank you for sharing:) honestly, your books have gotten me through going to therapy and processing my own things that I went through as a kid and having to read some of this stuff just brings it all to the surface all over again. I can’t comprehend how these people can be so evil and disgusting and still look people in the eye every day. Mostly just wanted to say, I feel it too, every day. But I am so thankful that you have given me a safe place to retreat to in rereads and listenings:)

MeadowsLovesBooks

I too wish the Mulvaney's, The Watch and Jericho's Boys could be unleashed for real.

Cheryl Peterson

Besides reading, I am doing a ton of cross stitch and other forms of embroidery. I find stabbing things over and over to be a soothing way of coping with the horrors.

Theresa Who

Thanks for being with us, and providing some escape ❤️

AM Olson

I lived through the heart of the AIDS epidemic. Watched a generation die while their blood parents took everything and TPTB told them to die in the gutter. Now, here's the thing to hold onto. It was also the first time a gay lead broke into mainstream publishing. That, in some ways more than anything else, created a bright light to follow and not fear as another train. So, yeah, that. Books that have neurodivergent and non-straight leads are lights to keep people from being lost in the darkness. They're also a way to strike back against those who want us dead in the gutter. It's authors like you that give voice to those who don't have the talent (or time to develop it). That and there's something very cathartic about being able to just turn loose people like August without fear of getting the wrong target or getting caught. So thank you for providing that voice. It has been my emotional support reading! I'm almost out of cognac and will be down to vodka soon.

Courtney C

It's been so mentally and emotionally draining. Im just really hoping people are held accountable soon.

Jayce

with all the negativity on social media, i like to find the ones posting good news as well, to break the doomscrolling. people on instagram like Jacobsimonsays and thegoodnewsgirl give a little bit of hope to me amongst the absolute fuckery. its good to know theres still some good shit going on, theres still *good* people in the world

Karen Ford

My anxiety meds have been adjusted twice in the last year. My psychiatrist does not want to adjust them again, but it is so hard to be here right now. I work, I read and visit the Mulvaney world to keep it together. I am with you, there has to be something better coming. I am so afraid for everybody.

Julianne Brasher

I have felt the same way. So much grief for those people and children. I am an RN as well. I feel deeply connected to my patients. That’s why I do what I do. Bc I care, and want to help people thrive. So this truly hurts my soul. I don’t know how to articulate it well. But I’ve been grieving all this week.

Lynda

I used to say books were my escape now they are a safe place I can be for a bit. Thank you for your writing. The occupation of Minnesota is personally devastating but the stories of the abuse of children is just soul destroying.

Gavin

I used to be the type of person who could ignore what's going on in the world my logical brain would say that what's happening has been happening since humans formed empires and discovered greed/ambition but with what's happening in our country it just sickens me I now ask myself what new fresh hell is going to drain my energy but when I really do need a break from everything that is going on I read ur books they honest to God give me hope that we will one day overcome this darkness and the ones responsible for so much evil will be punished just like the guys in your books or at least that's what my tism hopes for

Gavin

In short im glad theres authors like you who were given the ability to give others moments of piece and hope though I do wish the mulvaneys and the boys and the kids from the watch were real these guys in power seem like each bad guy in every book you've written

Radical Magpie

It’s beyond overwhelming and INFUCKINGFURIATING and horrific and *pure evil* and… and… and… And I feel all of that in every fiber of my being. I burst into tears and/or armageddon-level-prepper panic every other minute. And I *know* they want to overwhelm us to the point of incapacitation, and I try to find a balancing place for myself… but WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. Sending love to you & everyone else here ✨💞❤️🖤

Temitope McKinley

Thank you for your voice! It is all a fucking nightmare and sometimes I feel like I can't breathe suffocating in this twisted reality we are living right now. I am thankful for writers like you that create an escape, and honestly for the moments I can find myself in the Mulvaney world...if only in my fantasies. That would explain why I have read the series a bijillion times and I am due for another re-read🙄

Dana Price

I haven't had a drink in 17 years. Two days ago I was actually entertaining the idea. That's super fucked up for me. Our cat of 16 years passed away suddenly a week ago and I can't cope. The world outside is unbearable and now it's unbearable inside my home as well. Sleeping and reading fiction are the only things keeping me going one minute at a time. Thank you for your honesty, Onley. It really does help.

Anastasiia Pedorenko

As a Ukrainian who lives in Ukraine, I just watch with shock at what's happening in the world and feel powerless 🤷🏼‍♀️I don't have the strength to react, so I just read my books and move through my days in a constant OMFG state. I hope we'll see better days, though. Because otherwise it's too depressing

Dee Slate

Thanks for sharing what many of us are feeling. I cycle between horrified, numb and worried 😢

Lux

Love your digital words and presence online for those of us who have been through similar experiences. You are the GOAT(greatest of all time) of modern authors i love

Nicole Rickert

Words are getting harder these days but I just wanted to say I’ve found comfort in Vengeful Bonds this week

Leslie Stephenson

I’ve started and stopped this response several times because, really, where to begin? Literally every day starts with a new atrocity. I’m not naive. I know, and have first hand experience, of the horrors that have and continue to go on in this country and around the world. Black boys and men murdered in the streets. Gay men dying and being told that aids was god’s punishment. Women and girls being beaten and raped and not being believed, or worse, being blamed for their own assaults. What I never thought I’d see was a pedophile ring being almost dismissed. As a species, I really thought that we were all horrified by child rape. Right? Wrong. I admit to being cynical and jaded, but I will be more surprised if any of these monsters are ever thrown in jail than I will be to see yet another 5 year old thrown in a concentration camp. Hell, one of them lives in the White House. I am angry and disgusted and horrified to a level that I lack the words to describe. We’ve been working our way up to this moment since the moment that George Jr legalized torture and black site prisons. I believe that we’re in the midst of another major social revolution. The question for me is which way it will go. Fascism or another move towards actual equality and a true value for human life? I’ve only been alive for one major change and that started w the AIDS crisis. Despite the demonic ranting of the Christians, and the complete lack of action from our government and those around the world, people came together. Stood up. Now, and I’m greatly simplifying here, I see boys in makeup (a mixed bag. Do boys need makeup to be attractive now too), lgbtq people opening showing affection without being killed, and a world of MM books and a tv show that is taking the world by storm. It’s not everything, but it’s something. What’s happening in Minneapolis-and Boston and Chicago before them-gives me hope. I am so fucking proud of them for fighting back. Will it be enough? I don’t know, but people have been able to enact change in the past just by being pissed off and joining together. Also, if you want to have some fun, catsonacouch on Instagram exists just to troll and fuck with Vance and all the other nazis in our government. It’s fantastic

Onley James

Maybe its the witch in me but astrological speaking, this is exactly what every astrologer has been saying for years. Darkness being exposed, systemic collapse, matriarchal society rising from the ashes. We are transitioning into the age of Aquarius and the world needed to see how absolutely heinous and disgusting the practices are of those who claim to worship an Abrahamic God. In my bones I feel this is the extinction burst where the patriarchy and material wealth dies. I dont know if it will be quick or slow but I think whats now been set in motion will show just how horrific some men can truly be. The things we've learned we cant unknow.

Leslie Stephenson

I don’t know much about Wicca or astrology, so I can’t speak to that. I do know that the patriarchy isn’t working. Neither is the system of democracy that we currently have. We live in a shiny bubble disguised as freedom. Never in my life have I believed that we have true freedom. Never in my life have I believed that any government actually exists to serve its citizens. And, justice? Have we ever had that? In my perfect world, religion doesn’t exist. Democracy is scrapped in favor of a true republic. One person, one vote and none of this 51% wins. There needs to be a true majority for any president, judge, law, war…to be enacted. And everyone votes on it. The people who represent us have proven time and time again that they can’t be trusted. I hope that you’re right. I hope the absolute evil of this time finally brings down the patriarchy, but I’m not holding my breath.

Leanne Bell

I mean I live in the UK and I think everything is bullshit. Everytime I see what the Fanta menace has done next I cringe so hard on behalf of the innocents living under that tyrant. It's bad enough seeing it all from a distance, I can't imagine how it feels to be living there. Also, if you fancy escaping here sometime, feel free to pop over. I make an amazing cup of coffee (or tea). Stay strong and sending you all love 💕😘

Anja

Just to send a little hope, in the Netherlands we had elections and our next prime minister is an out and proud gay man. So change is coming.

Fyrebanshee

'It Is No Measure of Health To Be Well-Adjusted to a Profoundly Sick Society”. as someone who was not very surprised to see the horrific capability of billionaires with unchecked power, you are very very not alone in your feelings. it’s awful to have to pick up and keep going with that kind of knowledge in your brain🫂❤️‍🩹 it’s healthy to not be okay under these trying times. thank you for everything you do and how much care and consideration you put in all your work. sending love and light and healing vibes to you and yours✨💕

Autumn Sluder

Everything sucks this year. Learning that not only are there real life villains, but also monsters, and basement monster demons has been horrifying. On top of that in my personal life I have two out of my five weenies that are having health issues. One is ivdd and he is healing (his name is Theon Greyjoy) but it’s a long road. And my other (Vienna sausage) has an unknown brain inflammatory thing that has almost killed her three times in 2 months and I am stressedddddd. Reading is my only out and helps me keep present with my kids. But dear god I can’t handle this timeline

Kari

I’m so sick and angry and disillusioned and scared and anxious and just fucking tired. This past year has been super hard for my mental health and I know it’s worse for many others. I think the worst of it is that there are people that I love and used to respect tell me I’m anxious for nothing (in their view, nothing “worse” will happen) or there’s nothing I can do so why worry about it? It’s infuriating and sad. I feel like Cassandra but without a voice. My throat aches to scream at them how wrong they are, but feel mute so the screaming is mostly on the inside.

Leslie Stephenson

Hi Onley. Just wanted to let you know that your Nolan Harker ads on Instagram go to a ‘sorry, page not found’ page. I thought it was a fluke, but it’s been a couple of days now.

W L Stercy

Thank you for this. I hate that we can all empathise with each other but it's good to know we're not alone, as well.
