Just a little update now that week 1 of my mandatory...sabbatical? is up. I have spent the last week bed rotting through Flower of Evil, a rewatch of Marry My Husband, about ten BL episodes, 2 audiobooks, 3 actual books, spending time with my grandkids, spending a small fortune at thr garden center and learning to crochet badly.

I have yet to start my ADHD meds because my sleep schedule is out of whack. Ive been having horrible nightmares. The worst from last night where I woke up literally hyperventilating and tachycardic (so fun). Not a great way to start a mother's day. The holiday already sucks since my mom was rude enough to die literally 2 days before mother's day in 2013.

I'm just rambling but I'm alive. Also I finally read The Housemaid by Freida McFadden and I get the hype. Nothing makes me more giddy than watching badass women torment horrible people. I think its a kink. Anyway if you havent read it, you totally should.

I'll be back soon.

Suggestion- as you know everyone’s metabolism is different, but I find my taking my ADHD meds during the day help with the sleep at night. I was actually initially put on adderall for idiopathic hypersomnolence long before I got my late in life dx of AuDHD. It can, sometimes, break the cycle referred to in Fight Club, where you’re “never really asleep and never really awake”. Getting all the way to ‘on’ can make it easier to find ‘off’ later. Just an idea.

If you're looking for another 'good for her!' movie while you rest, I've watched 'Send Help' lately and it was great :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your mum, sending much love. I have tried everything for sleep over the years even a weed vape 😅, which just set off my asthma to be honest but what has really helped is i tried noise cancelling sleep ear plugs. These have been a game changer for me and now I can't do without them, they have improved my sleep so much. And I also took up crochet its a great hobby I personally can't follow a pattern but I make a great blanket think everyone in the family has one now. Good luck with everything thinking of you ❤️

Garden center…good! Grandkids…good! Bad-ass women punishing horrible people…good! Have you checked out Emily Kimmelman? Just based on ads, they’re on my list, I haven’t read them yet. I hate how nightmares leave me feeling off-base and unsettled for the whole damn day. Hope you feel better soon!

I had to scroll for an hour just to convince myself there wasn't someone in my house.

Hope the nightmares are temporary and you can get back to your regularly scheduled nightly programming. They probably mean you aren't quite "relaxing" either but that's not surprising. Coming out of the Freeze response sucks. Wish you the best.

Please take care of yourself. You have so many irons in the fire and we, your readers, want you in tip top shape. No matter how long it takes. I know that I want you to feel you best.

Oooo I love crocheting. I knit and cross stitch too. Crafting while listening to audio books is how I relax, so I hope it's helping you!

Onley James

I really want to cross stich again but I'm not sure its possible with my arthritis and my tremor

AudioAddict

You already sound better! Despite the sleep issue (nightmares suck, I'm sorry about that) - but who needs sleep anyway? Another week "off" ought to refill your tank at least part way. Hang in there for your health.

Oooo I love a garden centre visit. There's something so relaxing about them. My niece loves them as well. I'm sorry your mum so rudely died so close to mother's day. You could always celebrate the UK mother's day instead. It's in march ❤️
