Someone asked me if I would ever consider redoing NE as omegaverse just for fun and I was thinking about it and other than the ability to knock up certain characters, I am not sure much would change. Psychopaths and the omegaverse are shockingly similar. But if you ever wanted me to do it for fun, I might.

I mean, I don't think you would need to completely rewrite the series, but doing fics as if they've always been omegaverse would be a fun idea!

On a totally different subject I just saw on Instagram that this group of gardeners are so dedicated to their garden gnomes that once a year the damaged garden gnomes are wheeled in a gnomes hearse to a cemetery that they are buried in little gnomes coffins. Um. Why are you all assuming Felix is an omega? The way I read it is, as mirror twins, Asa is alpha and Avi is omega. The genetic markers for each split, one to each twin. Zane would be omega and Felix alpha. In rut, things would get rather frisky, but otherwise they stay in their usual Asa-Felix dom, Avi-Zane sub. Because being a dom, in real life doesn't always mean top. My husband is a total bottom, but he runs the show. I'm just around for the check. (Kidding, mostly.)

“I think a pregnant Felix would be hysterical” was my comment. I’m not assuming nor demanding anything. I was commenting that it would be entertaining in a theoretical sense. I also think an omega as a dominant/alpha as a sub is compelling. Same argument, being a bottom doesn’t mean a sub. And that is Felix. It is an interesting to read mirror twins that way, for me though Avi reads as “sweet himbo alpha” not as an omega. Also for the “biological” element, if secondary gender works the same as primary in the way it’s coded then having identical twins being different secondary genders doesn’t make sense to me. It would if they were fraternal.

That's an interesting thought. Some kind of variant where they're all shunted to an Omegaverse dimension in their current states, but separated so they have to find each other again. Basically mix in an isakai element (or a multiverse merge) so they're exploring the new universe while they're exploring themselves, while trying to find each other again. Keep it modern day though, especially for Freckles and Felix.

You could change quite a bit. You could make most of the extra characters as more beta too and you know beta always think they have the short end of the stick. But have the Alpha and omegas more visible handing out goods to children.

I mean, there's nothing stopping Jericho from adopting every stray child who wanders past the garage. I think he and Freckles would be willing to adopt trauma-bonded orphans (Jet and Jagger) even if they had bio kids already, too. So I think they would have some bio kids before and after J&J. Alternately, Freckles might be on pretty heavy birth control for medical/social reasons (and/or be afraid that he wouldn't make a good parent), in which case things would be pretty much the same, up to and including Atticus' eventual desire to have a baby who would be a younger sibling to Jet and Jagger. Or maybe A&J abandon their day jobs to make an entire baseball team worth of kids, who knows.

Oh... and Atticus' reaction to losing casual touch (hugs etc.) from Thomas as the other boys get adopted... :( that loss of casual intimacy would be even more important if pheromones help mark "family" when the others (well, except Aiden) don't seem to need it to feel grounded/safe/wanted.

Yes, this mini fics would be so much better. Alternate universe type stories. I think Adam and Noah with Noah pregnant would be funny. Noah is the Queen of the Feelings Faction so him all hormonal and emotional with Adam struggling to keep him calm and burritoed, looking for a replacement for his emotional support vodka.

I’m in agreement with you, except for mpreg, I don’t think it would change much. I’ve been watching/listening to a good amount of YouTube stories that are omegaverse, shifter omegaverse, etc., and what strikes me is how much the alphas are narcissistic, abusive psychopaths, and frequently stupid. But…you know, it would be really funny if Adam ended up having a weird dream not too long after one of their rare switch situations of Noah topping him, where he was pregnant. 🤣
