I know it's not going to please everyone but hopefully you enjoy it. <3

Shiloh

Shiloh stood outside the upscale salon, smoothie in hand, air pods in his ear. It was a beautiful day. The sky was bright and clear, the breeze was perfect. The salon was just as posh as his instructor had promised. The boutique spot was nestled in an upscale strip mall with white stucco, Spanish tile roofs and cobblestone sidewalks. The surrounding stores were all couture clothing that only Felix could afford.

Too bad he just wanted to cry. He’d been so excited when he started. It had taken only three weeks for that joy to fade to dread. He took a sip of his lunch, not even enjoying it, but knowing if he didn’t eat something he’d crash before the end of day. And he couldn’t afford to let his guard down. He sighed, his brown curls blowing in the soft breeze, watching as the minutes of his break ticked down like a bomb about to detonate.

“You need to tell somebody,” Ever said softly in his ear. “Nobody has the right to terrorize you at work.”

Shiloh grimaced. That was just it. This person technically did have the right. While Sapphire—yes, that’s my real name—wasn’t the salon owner,  she was a master stylist and Shiloh was only an apprentice. His job was to assist both her and the owner, Greta, with anything and everything they might need. And he’d been happy to do that, just that. He’d shampooed clients, swept the floor, folded towels, stocked the shelves, anything they asked.

Sapphire had been fine with him when that was all he did. But as soon as Greta started allowing him to work on clients, that’s when everything had changed. Greta had gushed over his technique and his talents, the clients had told her how wonderful he was and how they hoped she decided to keep him. He wasn’t really even doing much more than simple services, but it had been so nice to be appreciated.

That’s when everything had changed.

Shiloh thunked his head against the rough wall behind him, letting his eyes fall shut. “My apprenticeship will be over soon, I just have to suck it up.”

Ever made a distressed sound. “But you like working there. At least, you did. It's not fair this…bitch…is chasing you away from this opportunity. “

Shiloh’s chest tightened. “I know it’s not fair, but it doesn’t really matter. Before, she’d kept her bullshit to just accusing me of moving her scissors, booking her clients wrong, using the wrong conditioner. But today was too big a mistake for Greta to ignore. I’ll be lucky if she doesn’t fire me.”

“She can’t fire you. You’re an apprentice. Apprentice’s make mistakes.”

“But I didn’t make a mistake,” Shiloh cried, earning a few concerned looks from passersby.

“What happened?” Ever asked.

Shiloh’s stomach flipped. “She made me put the wrong toner on her client this morning, and then told Greta that I grabbed the wrong one by mistake and ruined her client's hair. Which I absolutely didn’t do. The toner the client wanted was like four shades lighter than the one she got. They’re not even on the same shelf. I should know, I’m the one stocking them.”

“What did Greta say?”

“Not much,” Shiloh said darkly, knowing he sounded pouty. “She made me fix her hair. And the client was mean to me the entire time. She kept asking me if I knew who she was and then getting more pissed when I didn’t.”

“She sounds like a monster. Are all the clients like that?” Ever asked, empathy bleeding from his voice directly into Shiloh’s brain.

“Some. Most are pretty nice. But we get the occasional asshole like her. But they’d all liked me until her. Even her client was gushing about how sweet and adorable I was before Sapphire fucked me over.”

“Shiloh-” Ever started.

He cut the boy off. “The damage is done,” he said, his straw making a slurping sound, letting him know he’d reached the bottom of his smoothie. “Greta thinks I’m an idiot now, and the client whose hair I messed up is apparently some D list celebrity or something. They had to comp her service.”

Shiloh closed his eyes, gathering himself. He’d truly thought his humiliation days were over. He willed himself to tamp down the self-pity welling up behind his eyes. He wasn’t about to let that evil hag see him cry.

“Maybe you should talk to the owner? Even if you don’t stay. Even if she doesn’t believe you. At least she will have a heads up if the girl does it to the next apprentice,” Ever reasoned.

Ever was right. He knew he was right. Shiloh had worked so hard in therapy to get to a point where he didn’t just roll over and take whatever anyone did to him. But this was different. This was an apprenticeship. He wasn’t their equal. “I’ll think about it.”

Ever sighed. “You need to at least tell Levi.”

Shiloh scoffed. “Do you know what he would do if I told him?”

“No,” Ever said, sounding eager like he was about to hear a little tidbit of gossip.

Shiloh deflated against the wall. “Me either. But it would likely involve violence. And telling Mal. Who would then also commit violence. I don’t want to be responsible for someone’s murder.”

“Would anything help?” Ever asked.

Shiloh shrugged even though Ever couldn’t see him. “I don’t know. Maybe if, like, Anne Hathaway walked into the salon and requested me personally, but since that’s not going to happen, I think I should prepare myself for the worst.”

If he failed this apprenticeship, he didn’t have the hours he needed to graduate, which meant he couldn’t take his licensing boards. Even if he did pass, without a recommendation from Greta, he likely wouldn’t pick up a decent job.

“Don't give up,” Ever said, sounding as miserable as Shiloh. “You never know what might happen.”

His time was up. “Yeah, sure. Talk to you soon.”

“Okay, I love you.”

“Love you too.”

He disconnected, then removed his airpods, returning them to his case before opening the door to step back inside.

Sapphire stood behind the reception desk, hand on her hip. Her long, silver hair was in a high pony, her overly made up face contorted into a sneer. She wore the required all black clothing, which Shiloh had once thought looked amazing on her, but now thought made her look like the demon she was.

“You’re late,” she snapped, staring pointedly at the clock to the right of the desk.

Shiloh frowned, looking down at his phone. It was one minute after one. “Sorry.”

The receptionist, a perky pink haired nineteen-year-old girl named Mindy, gave him a sympathetic look as he passed by.

Sapphire was hot on his heels, following him throughout the brightly lit salon like there was a string tied to his ass. “I need you to rinse my client then apply the bond builder. Think you could manage that without fucking up?”

Shiloh didn’t even turn to look at her. “Sure, no problem,” he said flatly.

“I don’t really like your attitude,” Sapphire said. “You should thank me. You should be grateful I’m even still letting you touch my clients after a huge fuck up like that.”

Shiloh stopped short, turning on her, keeping his voice low so as not to upset the clients. “No, you know what. You can sabotage me all you want, but don’t stand there and pretend you didn’t set me up when we both know the truth.”

Sapphire’s face flushed, her words sharp and far louder than they needed to be. “You don’t get to talk to me that way.”

Greta’s gaze snapped to the two of them from her station, narrowing her gaze at them, watching for a long moment, before returning her full attention back to her client. Shiloh’s stomach sloshed. Maybe the smoothie was a bad idea. He really wished he could just curl up into a ball and cry.

She’d liked him so much when he first got there. She’d fawned and gushed over him, said he was adorable and talented. Now her eyes were on him all the time. And given how tall she was, she was easy to spot. She was almost as tall as his instructor, Gemma.

But unlike Gemma, Greta was a statuesque blond, a former runway model who had walked catwalks in Paris, Milan and New York. She’d even been on the cover of Vogue in the ‘90s. That’s how she’d met Gemma in the first place. She’d done her hair for a photo shoot. Shiloh suspected their relationship was more than just friendship. She’d told him she trusted Gemma’s judgment implicitly.

Or she had anyway.

He sighed, then screwed his smile into place, walking past Greta to get to Sapphire’s client. He could feel her eyes on him in the mirror. Fuck. He hated this. He introduced himself to the client again, letting her know he would be getting her rinsed.

“You let me know if he doesn’t do a good job,” Sapphire said, a big phony smile plastered on her face. “Just because he’s an apprentice, doesn’t mean he gets to slack off.”

“Sapphire.” Greta said her name like a warning. The stylist’s eyes flew to the owner, clearly not expecting to hear that sharp tone from her boss. To Shiloh, Greta said, “Take Ms. Burton and get her taken care.”

Shiloh gave a stilted nod, walking the client—a freckle faced woman in her thirties—to the shampoo bowl. He stayed silent, unsure what to say after what just happened. He focused on making sure the water was cool but not cold. He jumped when the woman spoke.

“Shiloh is it?” she asked, her posh British accent washing over him. “I’m Evie.”

“Nice to meet you,” he said, watching the shockingly red hair dye swirl around the bowl.

“Don’t take it personally.”

Shiloh glanced at her. “I’m sorry?”

She smiled. She was lovely. “I’m saying she’s a twat.”

Shiloh gasped, scandalized. “I-”

Evie laughed. “Oh, don’t worry, poppet. You don’t have to confirm or deny. She’s my sister-in-law and she’s a terrorist.”

“Oh.” Shiloh glanced between the two of them, then muttered, “Somebody married her?”

She snorted. “God, no. I married her brother.”

His eyes went wide. “Oh, is he like…” he nodded towards Sapphire.

“No, thank God. But he does protect her. And he gets cheesed off if I go to anyone else to get my hair done. Lucky for me, she’s a decent hairstylist, even if she’s a miserable cow.”

Shiloh sucked in his lips, trying to keep his laughter down. When he finished rinsing her, he applied the products, working them through her hair, taking longer than he should have just to keep from having to return her to Sapphire.

She chatted the whole time, spilling all the tea. And it was piping hot. Scalding, even. Sapphire had to take her licensing boards three times before she passed. She was fired from two different salons. She lied on her resume to get this job. And she’d cheated on her fiance with his best friend who outed them both at their engagement dinner. Her fiance was so mad, he pushed her into the lake.

Shiloh did his best not to laugh too hard. He’d just returned her to her seat when Mindy came up, looking like she was about to tell Greta she ran over her cat. “Um, there’s two walk-ins at the front desk.”

Greta gave her a confused look.

“We don’t take walk-in’s, Mindy. We’re not SuperCuts,” Sapphire snapped.

Greta cut her eyes to the stylist, before gently saying, “She’s right, of course. Ask them if they’d like to book an appointment for the next available time slot.”

Mandy didn’t leave, instead her face grew even more worried, glancing towards the front desk again. “They said that you’ll make an exception for them.”

Greta’s shoulders went back, irritated. “Is that so?” she said. She marched to where Mindy stood, peeking around the corner, mouth falling open. “Is that…”

“Uh-huh.”

“Well, then they’re correct. We will, of course, make an exception.”

Sapphire gasped. “Who is it?”

Mindy looked star-struck as she whispered. “The Mulvaney twins.”

A shock of recognition shot through him, somehow feeling like he was both having a heart attack and a stroke simultaneously. Oh no. No. No. No. No. No. Not now. What were they doing there?

“Clear my schedule, rebook my next two clients. Tell them it was an emergency,” Sapphire snapped. Mindy didn’t move, instead chewing on her lower lip. “What are you waiting for? Go. Now. Before my client is already here.”

Greta looked ready to say something but Mandy beat her to it. “Um, they said they’ll only take one stylist,” she looked at Shiloh. “Him.”

“What?” Sapphire snapped, face red beneath her makeup. “That makes no sense. He’s an apprentice and a shitty one at that.”

Mindy’s eyes went wide. Greta shot the stylist a mutinous look.  Shiloh watched as Greta’s client and Evie looked at each other with bright eyes. There was nothing better than salon drama.

“Shiloh, do you know why they would come in and ask for you?” Greta asked, gently.

It was his turn to flush. “I mean, they’re my friends,” he said, then hurried to add. “B-But I didn’t tell them to stop in or anything. I wouldn’t do that without asking permission.”

Sapphire barked out a laugh. “You’re friends with the Mulvaney’s. The Mulvaney’s. How?”

“My father-in-law is married to Atticus Mulvaney. I know all the Mulvaney’s,” Shiloh said, refusing to look anywhere but at Evie, who was over-the-moon about this development, at least if her grin was anything to go by.

Greta placed a hand on his shoulder, her smile soft. “I knew you were going to be my good luck charm.”

“What?” he blurted.

She squeezed his shoulder. “Why don’t you go take care of your clients? Sapphire and I can take care of ourselves for the afternoon.”

“You can’t be fucking serious,” Sapphire snapped.

Greta flicked an icy gaze at the silver-haired stylist. “I’m very serious. And I don’t appreciate you swearing in front of my clients. Finish up with Evie and then you and I are going to have a talk about your future here.”

Shiloh gasped, then quickly looked away, hurrying to the front desk, having a hard time believing his own eyes. But there they were. Asa wearing black dress pants and a baby blue button down and Avi wearing gray joggers and a red Gemini hoodie. Avi also held a large lidded cardboard box. It was purple, the gold ribbon printed on the sides and the top to look like some kind of cartoon present.

“What are you doing here?” Shiloh frowned at the box in Avi’s hand. “And what is that?”

“Ever called Arsen, Arsen called Noah, Noah called Felix and…well, I’m sure you can guess the rest.”

“You-You don’t have to do this,” Shiloh said, shaking his head. “I was only kidding about needing celebrity clients.”

“Do you suck or something?” Asa said, sounding more curious than anything.

“Well, no. At least, I don’t think so. I’d hate to find out I’m wrong after I butchered your hair.”

The twins grinned in unison, Avi saying, “So would we. But none of us have a choice in the matter now. We’re all in this together. Besides, sacrificing our hair in the name of shutting up some—” he stopped short. “What did Felix say Ever called her?”

“A weasel-faced thundercunt,” Asa said.

Shiloh’s hands flew to cover his mouth, but Avi didn’t miss a beat. “Yeah, that. I’m always happy to take time out of my day to make someone cry, but Felix said just us showing up would probably be enough to accomplish that.”

Shiloh’s head was spinning. He just stood there, gaping at the two men.

“So…are you going to cut our hair or not, doodlebug?” Asa teased.

“Yeah, I-I can do that.” Once more, his gaze strayed to the box. “What is that?”

“What does it look like? It’s a present,” Avi said, holding out the box.

Shiloh frowned, taking it hesitantly. “For me?”

“Yeah, that’s why we’re late. We had to make a stop for this. Consider it a congrats on your apprenticeship gift,” Avi said.

Shiloh shook his head. He was not close enough with the Mulvaney twins to warrant a present of this size. Whatever it was.

Shiloh yelped, almost dropping it when something shifted, tiny little scratches, sounding through the holes at the top. “What the-”

Avi righted the box, giving him a stern look. “Careful.”

Shiloh’s unease returned, carefully setting the box on the desk and pulling off the lid. He sucked in a sharp breath. Looking from Avi to Asa, then back to the box again. “Why are there five kittens in this box?”

“I promised you a basket of kittens,” Avi said. “But I never had the chance. I know it’s not a basket, but I had to improvise. They gave us the box at the fancy pet store down the street.”

“You bought me five kittens?” Shiloh said. “Five.”

Asa sat back, arms folded across his chest, expression both smug and amused, like he knew his brother’s ‘gift’ was insane but had let this play out anyway for his own amusement. Shiloh looked to him for help but he just grinned.

“Okay, so the fluffy silver one, that’s called a Maine Coon, the lady said they’re highly sought after, so I knew I had to get you that one. But then she showed us these two here. They’re sisters. See how they’re both orange but one has black on its ears and tail? I couldn’t separate them. So we got all three.”

Shiloh frowned. “But there’s five here, Avi.”

“Oh, the other two are Scottish folds,” Avi said as if that made perfect sense.

Shiloh looked at the two fluffy snow white kittens with their folded over ears. “I don’t understand…”

Avi scoffed. “T. Swift has two of them and she’s a billionaire and we’re billionaire’s so I figured she wouldn’t buy low-budget cats. So we just took them all.”

Shiloh felt like he was trapped in a fever dream. Except his dreams had never been this weird. “I-I can’t accept them. These kittens are expensive. Like six thousand dollars or something, right?”

“No,” Avi said, like Shiloh was crazy. His shoulders sagged, just as he said, “More like eighteen thousand.”

Shiloh felt all the blood rush to his feet, dizzy from this new information. “I can’t take this. These. I-We can’t afford five kittens. We can barely afford rent and ramen.”

Asa’s grin grew wider as Avi shook his head. “No, you totally can. We have all the supplies going to your house, the cat food and litter is on auto-buy and the vet bills will come to us. We would never give a gift that costs you money to maintain.”

“I-Thank you…”

What was he supposed to do with a box of kittens while he worked? Greta and Mandy wandered to the front, both peering into the large purple box.

Mandy squeed. “Oh, my God. They’re so cute. Are they all yours?” she asked, picking up the tag.

“It seems that way,” Shiloh said, still a bit dazed. “I’m not sure where to put them while I-”

“I’ll take care of them,” Mandy said eagerly. “Do they have names?”

Shiloh looked to the twins. “Do they?”

“No. Who names someone else’s pets?” Asa asked.

“Yeah, silly me,” Shiloh said. “Come on back, I guess.”

###

Shiloh was gathering his things—new kittens included—when Greta found him in the back. “Gotta minute?”

His heart tripped in his chest but he nodded, sitting in the plastic chair around the little round table where they ate lunch. “Uh, sure. Levi won’t be here for another ten minutes. He had to borrow someone’s car to come get me.” He looked down into the box at the tiny balls of fur all piled on top of each other, sound asleep. “I don’t think kittens would travel well on the bus.”

Greta smiled ruefully. “I don’t suppose they would.”

“What’s up?” Shiloh asked, when she didn’t say anything.

“How are you liking it here?” she asked, sitting beside him and placing a hand over his.

“I-It’s great,” he lied.

Greta stared at him then burst out laughing. “I hope you never get better at lying,” she said, teasingly. “Now tell me the truth. What’s been going on? And before you make something up, I know Sapphire set you up this morning.”

“You do?” he blurted.

“Mm, I think she underestimates me, or at least my hearing. I’m old but I’m not that old. I heard her tell you to grab the T-27 instead of the T-14. I didn’t know at the time it wasn’t what the client requested, or I would have interceded of course. But I put two and two together very quickly. This isn’t the first time she’s done something like this to you, is it?”

Shiloh shook his head. “No.”

Greta shook her head. “Why didn’t you say something?”

“She’s a master stylist. I’m an apprentice,” he said, shrugging.

She frowned. “You didn’t think I’d believe you?”

“I just thought the damage was already done. Why bother?” Shiloh asked. “I figured I’d already ruined my reputation with you.”

Greta gave him a disapproving look. “Well, I’m glad your friends have more faith in your abilities than you do. You did an excellent job.”

“Really?” he said, trying to tamp down his excitement.

She smiled at him, like she could see him trying to stay calm. “Uh-huh.”

She handed him an envelope.

“What’s this?”

“Your pay for your two cuts and the tip they left you,” she said, beaming at him.

He shook his head. “I don’t get paid. I just make tips.”

“Your apprenticeship will be over before you know it, and with Sapphire no longer working here, it appears I’m in the market for a junior stylist. Though I have a feeling you’ll be a master before you know it. You have a lot of talent.”

Shiloh just stared. He was definitely dreaming. “I-Really?”

“I’m a nice person, sweetie. But I don’t give bullshit compliments. You’re really good. I knew you would be.”

“And this isn’t just because of the twins, right? Because I don’t know if any of them will ever come here again.”

“No, it’s not. But since they already rebooked with you, I have a feeling your books will be filled before you even graduate.”

Shiloh’s phone beeped. It was a text from Levi. Just three words. I’m here, dimples.

“My ride’s here, but thank you. Thank you so much. I will see you tomorrow.”

Greta smiled. “See you then.”

Shiloh practically floated out to the parking lot, smiling at Levi when he held his car door for him. He balanced the box on his lap while Levi grabbed his seatbelt, leaning across him heavily to click the buckle into place. They were practically nose to nose.

“Hi,” Levi murmured, before dropping a kiss on his lips.

“Hi,” Shiloh countered, capturing his lips in a kiss that lingered.

“Keep kissing me like that and we’re not going to make it out of the parking lot.”

Shiloh rolled his eyes as Levi ran around and hopped in on the driver’s side.

“Well, can I see our new children?” Shiloh wiggled the top of the box off, both of them peering down into it. “Who’s who?”

Shiloh picked up the two snowball kittens. “This is Nori and Dumpling.” He pointed to the silver Maine Coon. “This is Mochi.” He pointed to the orange Persian. “This is Wasabi.” He picked up the final Persian with its orange and black fur. “And this is Kimchi.”

Levi grinned. “I’m noticing a theme.”

“Ever and I named them together. Since he came to my rescue today”

Levi gave him a soft look. “Why didn’t you tell me you were being bullied?”

Shiloh sighed, cupping Levi’s cheek. “Because I didn’t want you getting arrested for killing someone.”

Levi took his hand from his face and kissed the back. “It would be worth it.”

“Not to me,” Shiloh said. “I like our little life just as it is.”

Levi stared at him in that way that made him feel like he didn’t deserve to be loved this hard.

Levi finally looked away, then turned on the car, Seven’s Honda Civic. “Well, it’s bucket list night. Do you want to skip it and play with our daughters?

Shiloh shook his head. “Mal and Nico agreed to babysit.”

“I’m assuming that means whatever challenge you’ve chosen is not in our apartment.”

“Not quite.”

Shiloh swallowed nervously. He could still change his mind and honor the challenge he chose in a different way. But he’d picked this because he wanted to overcome some of his irrational fears. Doing that with Levi inside him, somehow just sounded easier.

He pulled the envelope from his pocket.

“What’s that?” Levi asked.

“Greta gave me the money from the twins' haircuts and their tips.”

Levi snorted. “The kittens that could have paid like six months of our rent wasn’t enough?”

“I guess not.” He opened the envelope, blinking at the cash inside. He pulled it free, counting it in his head as he went through hundred dollar bill after hundred dollar bill. “There’s like two thousand dollars here.”

“Jesus, what do they charge for haircuts there?” Levi asked.

“From junior stylists? Three hundred. This has to be a mistake.”

“You think the billionaires who just handed you twenty thousand dollars worth of kittens on a whim accidentally gave you a fourteen hundred dollar tip? I doubt it.”

“This is all we needed to get that bigger apartment,” Shiloh said, staring at the money in awe.

Levi grinned, then grimaced. “Now all we have to do is convince them to let us have five kittens.”

Shiloh flopped back against the seat. “They’re our emotional support kittens. We have trauma. I bet Dr. Jones would write a letter.”

“You’re probably right. We’ll figure it out.”

###

After dinner, Shiloh took Levi’s hand and walked him all the way to the top floor, then pushed open the door to the roof. His heart started hammering hard the moment he stepped foot on the flat concrete surface. He started to shake, but he pushed it down, stepping further onto the roof before making sure to prop the door open. Just in case.

“I don’t remember seeing fuck on the roof on our bucket list. Is this one that spontaneously showed up on our ever replenishing list?” he asked, spinning Shiloh so he could wrap his arms around him from behind and nuzzle his face against his neck.

“Not exactly.” Shiloh put his arms over Levi’s, letting his eyes fall shut.

This was his favorite place in the world. Levi wrapped around him, the scent of him, the heat of his body, the low murmur of his voice in his ear when he said, “Then what exactly is this?”

“Have sex some place risky.”

“Is the risk here getting caught?”

Shiloh shook his head, then pointed to the ladder beside the door. Levi’s eyes tracked it upwards to the water tower perched on the roof. “You don’t want me to fuck you in the water tower, right?”

“No, just against the railing.”

Levi bit his lip, looking from the railing to Shiloh. “Are you sure about this? You’re shaking like a leaf. This has to be triggering the fuck out of you right now.”

Shiloh gave a stilted nod. “It is. That’s why we’re here. I want to replace bad memories with a good one.”

“And what if that good memory is us plummeting to our death? We don’t know that the railing is safe.”

“I had Mal come test it earlier. He said it’s perfectly stable.”

Levi heaved a sigh. “After you, daredevil.”

Shiloh climbed the metal rungs attached to the building, then slipped under the railing to stand on the platform, Levi right behind him. Once up there, Shiloh peered over the edge to the roof. It would be a three story drop if they fell. Levi’s arms came around him, caging him in by gripping the metal bar surrounding the space.

He peered over Shiloh’s shoulder. “This might be the craziest thing you’ve suggested to date.”

Shiloh inhaled and let out a shaky breath. It was much windier up there than he’d anticipated, but the view was spectacular. With only the dim security lights behind them, they could see the city for miles in any direction. He shivered.

Levi immediately settled his weight against his back. “Are you sure you want to do this?”

Shiloh nodded, leaning back against him, the heat of his body a balm to his frazzled nerves. “Yes.”

Levi kissed his temple. “And you’ll tell me if you start to have any kind of reaction or flashbacks or panic attacks?”

Levi’s concern somehow lessened his. He loved Shiloh so hard, so fiercely, nothing really scared him anymore. Levi would always protect him.

He turned in his arms. “I’m positive. Now kiss me.”

Levi’s mouth was on his before he finished, swallowing his last word. Shiloh’s hands fisted into his hoodie, lips parting as Levi pressed his tongue inside. Shiloh made a needy sound, as they grabbed at each other, breathing hot into each other’s mouths.

Shiloh’s blood caught fire. This was what he needed. This was all he needed. He let Levi control the kiss, hands in Shiloh’s hair, tilting his head how he liked it, fucking his tongue into his mouth, muttering filthy things against his lips as he bit and sucked at them. He loved being used by him.

Levi broke the kiss, teeth scraping his jaw, biting hard at his ear, sucking hard at this throat. “Fuck, I wish I could just permanently mark you where everyone could see,” he rasped against his skin.

Shiloh’s hands slid down Levi’s back to slide into his shorts, squeezing his ass and pulling thier hips together to grind against each other. They were both hard, when they came together Shiloh bit back a high-pitched sound and Levi groaned, catching his mouth in another dirty kiss, his tongue sliding over Shiloh’s teeth as he wrapped his arms around his waist.

“God, you always get me so hot, so fast,” Levi said into his mouth. “I’ve been dying to be inside you all day. “

Shiloh couldn’t hide his needy whine this time. “Fuck. Me too. The only thing that got me through today was knowing your hands would be on me tonight, your mouth…What are you waiting for?”

“I was trying to take my time with you,” Levi said, nipping at Shiloh’s swollen bottom lip again.

“I love that, baby. Really, I do, but I’m almost positive there’s security cameras up here somewhere and if you’re not inside me in the next minute or so I swear I’m going to cry and you’ll feel terrible.”

He squeaked when Levi spun him around, wrapping a hand around his throat, holding him in place as he said, “I don’t know. I hate when you're sad, but I love how pretty you look when you're crying on my cock.”

Shiloh made a desperate sound, grinding his ass against Levi’s erection. “Please, baby.”

Levi chuckled. “I can’t believe you’re so desperate to be fucked that you’ll let me bend you over a railing where some poor unsuspecting security guard might see me pounding into this perfect little ass.”

“Lube’s in my pocket,” Shiloh said, eyelids fluttering, pulse throbbing. He was fucking aching for him.

“You really are prepared,” Levi said fondly, slipping his hand into his pants to retrieve the bottle before pushing Shiloh’s pants down to mid-thigh.“No underwear either?” He slapped Shiloh’s ass. “Such a slut.”

“Yes,” Shiloh nodded, cock aching from just his words. It was true. He would let Levi do anything to him, anywhere. He’d probably let him fuck him on a stage in front of thousands if it made him happy.

He let his head fall, his heart jolting as he remembered where he was, what they were doing and why. For a split second, panic crawled up his throat. But then Levi was on his knees behind him, palming his ass before spreading him apart, licking eagerly over his hole.

Shiloh’s eyes rolled, heat pooling in his belly.

“That’s it. Arch your back. Fuck,” Levi said as he sucked at his rim.

Shiloh whimpered, hands tightening around the railing. “Fuck, I love your tongue.”

Levi pressed kisses around his entrance, one hand disappearing, then returning wet with lube, circling his entrance, before pressing two fingers in. He didn’t give him time to adjust, pumping them in and out, curling his fingers to drag over Shiloh’s prostate every time.

Shiloh cried out, knees almost giving out. He couldn’t stop the sounds he was making, but Levi was used to how whiny and needy he got during sex. He said he loved it. Levi stood, fingers still working him open. He bit at the back of Shiloh’s neck, free hand sliding up under his t-shirt to play with his nipples.

“You’re so tight, so fucking hot inside.”

“I’m good. I’m ready. Just fuck me.”

“I don’t think-”

“I can take it.”

Levi bit at his earlobe. “It’s gonna hurt.”

Shiloh’s cock throbbed. “Good. I want to hurt a little.” He turned to catch his eye. “I need it to hurt a little. Just use me. Fuck me so hard I think about you inside me every time I sit down.”

“Jesus, baby,” he said, fingers pulling free.

Shiloh rested his head against the cool metal railing, listening as Levi worked what was probably way too much lube over himself, worried he might hurt him in an unsexy way.

Before Shiloh could think too much about it, he was pressing against him, feeling impossibly big. When he hesitated once more, Shiloh rolled his eyes, pushing back on Levi, yelping when he breached the tight muscle. It always felt like he was splitting him in half. Like his body was rearranging itself with every thrust, carving a place for himself in Shiloh’s body.

He hissed as fire trailed across his skin, the slap of skin on skin carried by the wind. Levi spanked him again. Shiloh didn’t care, he swiveled his hips, fucking himself on Levi’s massive cock. He knew Levi would use him now, would call him names and make him feel dirty in a way that lit up his insides and always had him on the verge of coming in seconds.

“Impatient tonight, huh. So desperate for my cock, your just gonna fuck yourself?” He gripped Shiloh’s hips, holding him in place so he couldn’t move. Shiloh whined, wiggling in his hold, desperate to have him all the way inside him, he needed to feel him deep, deep in his core. He needed to feel like they were fused together.

“Please…Please…fuck me. Please, baby. I need it.”

Levi gripped him by the hair, turning him to face him. “Are you my good boy, or are you my cock hungry little whore?”

Shiloh moaned, his cock dripping. He was so hard it hurt. He wanted to come so badly, but he wanted it to be with Levi’s cock in his guts.

“I’m your little whore,” Shiloh agreed. “Please, just…just hurry.”

Levi groaned, driving into him in one hard thrust, stealing Shiloh’s breath and his ability to think. He was so full. Levi set a brutal pace from the start, his hips slapping against Shiloh’s ass with enough force it stung. He couldn’t stop the needy sounds he punched out of him. All he could do was take it. He’d told Levi to use him, to make it hurt, and it did. It hurt so good, Levi glancing that bundle of nerves with every roll of his hips until Shiloh was on the verge of drooling.

“You’re so deep,” he slurred. “It’s so good.”

Levi dragged him up just enough to seal their mouths together in a sloppy kiss that was more spit and teeth than anything else. It was perfect.

He kept Shiloh pressed against him, hand returning to his throat, not squeezing but applying a tiny bit of pressure. The change in angle had Levi pummeling his prostate dead on. Shiloh’s knees gave out. Levi caught him around the waist.

“Right there, dimples? Is that the spot? Feel good?” Levi panted.

Shiloh’s head lolled back, the pleasure wracking his body had him sobbing, “Oh, there. Right there. Fuck, don’t stop. Don’t. Oh, fuck. fuck. fuck. Can I touch myself? Please? Please?”

“Fuck, I love when you beg,” Levi said, pressing his lips to his cheek. “You gonna come on my cock? You gonna be good for me?.”

Shiloh whined as Levi grabbed his hand and licked a stripe down Shiloh’s palm, directing it downward. Shiloh gave another soft sob as he closed his hand around his cock, the relief second only temporary as he frantically chased his relief, jerking himself off without any finesse. He just needed to get off.

Levi bit Shiloh’s earlobe hard enough to pinch. “Fuck, come for me. I want to feel you clenching on my cock.”

That was all it took to send Shiloh right over the edge, his release spilling over his hand and onto the concrete below. The only thing keeping him standing was Levi’s arm around his waist. Shiloh was a rag doll as Levi continued to thrust into him, his rhythm sloppy, his breaths ragged in Shiloh’s ear. Shiloh shivered as Levi groaned, grinding himself against Shiloh’s ass as he throbbed inside him.

Shiloh’s lids were at half-mast, his limbs loose, his mind hazy.

“Is this what you needed, sleepy boy?”

“Mm,” Shiloh said, sated. “I wish I could sleep with you inside me. It feels so nice.”

“Dirty boy. You love cock so much,” he teased.

Shiloh giggled, then patted Levi’s cheek. “Just yours.”

He buried his face in Shiloh’s neck. “Well it definitely loves you too.”

“This was fun, but can we take a shower together and then order a bunch of candy from the convenience store and watch horror movies with Mal, Nico and the babies.”

Shiloh felt Levi pressing kisses into his throat, before he lifted his head.“Whatever you say, dimples. I’m just here to serve.”

His heart swelled. “I might have you…serve…me a couple more times tonight, so don’t lose the lube.”

Shiloh winced as Levi abruptly pulled out of him then slapped his ass again. “Slut.”

Shiloh couldn’t stop the dopey smile on his face as he righted his clothing. “You love it.”

Levi wrapped him in a bear hug from behind. “Ido. I love you. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me in my whole life and I’m so proud of you for everything you’ve managed to do in so little time. You’re kind of amazing.”

Shiloh couldn’t stop the tears that sprang to his eyes or the sob that escaped at Levi’s unexpected praise. “Stop… you can’t just surprise me with this stuff. I’m…sensitive.”

“Too bad,” Levi said. “I’ll never stop being amazed by you. Ever. Even when we’re both old and gray and missing teeth.”

“Sexy,” Shiloh sniffled, wiping at his tears.

“I’m serious. I’m so proud of you. I can’t believe you're mine.”

Shiloh’s head was spinning. “What is happening right now?”

Levi’s hands dropped away. Shiloh turned to find Levi standing there holding…a ring.

Was he hallucinating? Had Levi had that with him the whole time? Of course, he had, but that didn’t make it any easier to process. Shiloh blinked at it. Even in the dim lighting he could see it was hammered gold, with a milky colored stone that sat flush with the ring itself.  Shiloh’s eyes widened. He’d seen the ring before. He’d pointed it out months ago at the pawn shop next to Mama’s restaurant. “When did you…”

Levi smiled, looking almost bashful when he said, “After my shift the next day.”

Shiloh shook his head. “I-Why?”

“Because I want to marry you, dimples. Why do you think?”

Shiloh choked out a laugh through his tears. “You’re proposing to me here? Now? With your cum still inside me?”

“Seems the perfect time, really,” he said, tugging him closer. “Marking my territory, inside and out.”

Shiloh shivered. That shouldn’t have been so hot. “Do you really want to…”

“Marry you? Yes. I’ll drag you to the court house tomorrow if you don’t believe me.”

Shiloh nodded. “Isn’t it too soon.”

Levi took Shiloh’s left hand, holding the ring between two fingers. “I’ve wanted to marry you since the moment you stuck a gun in my face. I should get a medal for my restraint. But if you’re not ready…not sure yet…”

“Yes,” Shiloh said, face crumpling as he dissolved into tears like an idiot. “I’ll marry you. Gimme.”

Levi’s shoulders sank with relief, his own eyes wet as he slipped the ring on his finger.

“This day is so surreal. I feel like I’m going to wake up any minute now.” He held the ring up under the dim security light. “Can we go show Mal and Nico now?”

“They’re waiting downstairs with cake.”

Shiloh’s heart fell into his shoes. “What? Now? Have…Have they been down there the whole time just waiting for us to…finish?” he ended in a whisper.

“I mean, I didn’t tell them I was coming up here to fuck you stupid and then propose but they do know it’s bucket list night. I think they’re just happy they didn’t have to listen to us fuck first.”

“And Mal is okay with…” he waved his left hand.

“He gave me the shovel talk, which I’m not gonna lie, was a lot more terrifying than I thought it would be. But yeah, dimples. He’s okay with it. Are you?”

Shiloh looked at him like he was stupid. “Are you just fishing for compliments now?”

Levi held him close, burying his face in Shiloh’s neck. “Hey, your brother’s kind of a lunatic and you haven’t said anything nice to me yet. Don’t I deserve brownie points for getting the ring and braving your crazy brother?”

Shiloh sniffled. “I tell you every day that I don’t deserve you. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me. Getting to have you forever feels like the prize I’ve won for enduring the first twenty something years of my life. You’re everything to me. I have your name literally tattooed on my ass.”

“Yeah, you do,” Levi said, squeezing said ass. When he pulled back, he kissed Shiloh’s nose. “I love you.”

“I love you, too. More than anything.” He glanced over the side of the building. “Now how do we get down?”

Melissa

This had everything I wanted! Shiloh & Ever friendship! Strong Shiloh! The twins being adorable! Kittens! Father in law Coe! And then a proposal?!

Cathy Heim

Boots is going to have to establish her superiority!

Courtney Slater

I LOVED this, but Imma go off on a rant for a hot second. FIRST OF ALL, Sapphire IS a "weasel-faced thundercunt"!!!! In her quest to sabotage poor Shiloh, she F**KED her client's color. T14 is a blue-violet based toner & T27 is a GOLD-violet based toner. Using a GV based toner on hair that's pulled orange (which is why she would use a BV based toner) is not only going to darken the level a little, it's ALSO going to make that orange WORSE by adding gold. If she normally tones her client to what I call "Targaryen Blonde", & she had our sweet Shiloh put her in what I call a "wheat blonde" (Taylor Swift), he would have to color remove before he could toner her to the correct level, which is SUPER drying by itself, but even MORE drying/damaging on freshly lightened hair. If her client pulled what I like to call "bronze", she jacked up in a couple of different ways: she didn't leave the lightener on long enough to bust through the orange phase, she didn't mix her lightener with a 1:2 ration, &/or she didn't use a lightener with enough lift power. A LOT of pros will use a lightener that only lifts 5 levels so they have to use a higher level of developer (30v or 40v), which is rougher on the hair. I bleach my own hair which is about a level 4 (3 levels above black), & I use Wella Blondor Plex (lifts up to 7 levels) with ONLY 20vol developer. I usually process about 35-45 minutes, using 1 oz of lightener to 2oz of developer. This pulls me to a light enough yellow blonde that I can then tone with T11 (a pale GV based beige toner). DO NOT throw my sweet Shiloh under the bus because he's already a better stylist as an APPRENTICE than you are as a "Master" stylist. I work as a Color Consultant at Sally, and it BURNS my biscuits when folx come in with messed up color that they paid dearly for done by "professionals" who look down on me & my coworkers for not having licenses.) The box of Bougie Babies from The Twins was EVERYTHING!! 😻😻😻

Violet T.

This was the perfect epilogue! I love that Ever has become Shiloh’s protector.

Kate B

I loved this, especially the emotional support kittens because they have trauma and even getting their therapist who has a side gig of taking out the trash (sick f*cks) to write a note stating this 😃

Jayce

first of all I freaking LOVE the twins! when they rocked up I had a huge grin! and I'm also glad I read the Shiloh and Levi parts on my work break! the way I gasped and had to cover my mouth when Levi propooooosed 😭😭😍 bes still my heart!

Maggy Helwig

"How do we get down?" - perfect last line!

G.S.

Aww. You gave us a bucket list epilogue. There's something for everyone. Also how fitting that the golden retriever brought the kittens. IDK why that makes me laugh.

Alyssa Ashley

This is just PERFECTION!!! 😍 It just kept getting better and better. It had everything I didn't know I needed. Love love love 💖 so happy for Shiloh & Levi.

Nadine Wead

everything i wanted and more. shiloh and levi were such a treat. but that's not a surprise. bonus points for the twins trying to fix things by spending exorbitant amounts of money. nicest psychopaths ever. i'll be honest, i did not expect a rooftop proposal, but that's why you do the writing. it was such a nice, full circle moment for shiloh, up there in the sky with the man he loves. no longer afraid to fall...

Kaye_tee_bee50

Onley I really need you to leave my feels alone! I'm crying. I'm laughing. This had me all over the place. I love the proposal. It was so sweet. I think Thundercunt is going to be added to my vocabulary.

Radical Magpie

✨🖤💘 Sigh. Swoon. 🙌 AALLLLLLL of the best ideas wrapped like a present (or a box of kittens)!!! 👏👏👏👏👏

Catherine L

Everything about this was purrfect! 😻😻😻 I'm not sure how I'm going to convince my husband we need five more cats so I can steal those names 😹. AND Atticus is a grandpa 😆!!!

Amanda

This is so much better than anything I could have hoped for! Such a beautiful epilogue for our little Sweet & Sour! 😍

Dana Price

Love this SO much! It's amazing how many characters you've created and with personalities that are so distinct from one another. You are so talented. 💜 It would be so cool to have a multiple choice Who said/did this. Just for funsies.

Christina Overholt

Omg so freaking perfect! You knocked it out of the park Onley! 💜

fivexfive

It's a stellar day when your two favorite obsessions, Necessary Evils and T-Swift, meet up!

Chloe

Loved it !!!!

Natiuskat

This joins Felix and Avi's epilogue as my favourite ❤️❤️

Manda

“I know it’s not going to please everyone” proceeds to write something so amazing I’m about to cry happy tears

oreanna marrella

I am dying of happiness he got his 🧺 of kittens !!

Sarah Gallant

This is so amazing! But I beg of people to not rush out and adopt Scottish fold kittens. They are bred for looks and tend to have chronic pain as a result of the missing cartilage <3

Maik

This is so, so good!

Tori

I literally cheered when the twins showed up! No one messes with Shiloh!

Linda

I am always in favour of an epilogue that ends with a marriage proposal. Especially with Shiloh, because it really shows he is part of the family. Also, the fact he calls Jericho his father-in-law? I almost wept. So, so good.

Candydebris

The Feelings Faction call tree is no joke

Erin Perez

How did I not find this until now? I read the book ages ago and only just now read this! So good!

Janice Miller

We need more bucket list scenes. Preferably one where Ever volunteers himself and Arsen for group sex.
