How to paint STYLIZED SKIN EASY

Finally! Here is the how I paint skin tutorial! This is generally how I approach painting skin IN MY STYLE, and I tried to make it approachable for those who are fairly beginner. I show examples of a light skin tone, a dark skin tone and a fantasy skin tone! I hope you guys find it helpful. This video is made possible 100% by patrons! My channel is too tiny to monetize, so it is only thanks to patron support that I'm able to dedicate time to making tutorial videos. So THANK YOU! I am using Clip Studio Paint in this tutorial but the principals can be applied to other software and apps as well. 0:00 What are we doing? 1:08 Skin gradients in paintings 2:04 Photo reference 4:16 Painting a tone map 6:39 Coloring Example 1: Light Tone 10:30 Shading 19:29 Highlights 23:54 Coloring Example 2: Dark Tone 28:31 Coloring Example 3: Fantasy Tone 34:12 Painting the eyes ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TWITCH ►► https://www.twitch.tv/chrissabug PATREON ►► https://www.patreon.com/chrissabug TWITTER ►► https://twitter.com/Chrissabug ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My top 12 Photoshop brushes can be found for FREE on my GUMROAD: ► https://gumroad.com/chrissabug –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– 💖For more Videos, Art Rewards, Tips, Exclusive Prints and Stickers, check out my Patreon. 🔻 ►https://www.patreon.com/chrissabug SHOP ◼ Shop | Prints & Merch: https://www.chrissabug.com/shop ◼ Gumroad store | Digital content: https://gumroad.com/chrissabug SOCIALS ◼ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrissabug/ ◼Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/chrissabug ◼ Twitter: https://twitter.com/chrissabug ◼ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chrissabug ◼ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/chrissabug ◼ DeviantART: https://www.deviantart.com/chrissabug ◼ Website: http://chrissabug.com

Hi Chrissa! New patron here. I'm not a digital artist. I paint miniatures. But I have no art background and have struggled over the years to "see" light, shadows, and all the rest, like an artist. Your vid tutorials are opening my eyes! Thank you!

chrissabug

Hey Aaron! Welcome in!! That’s so cool that you paint miniatures! They can get so complex and are beautiful! I’m so glad that the video tutorials are helpful for you! That makes me super happy to hear!

Omg you explained everything so well!! Im so new to digital art its hard for me to figure out how things work and what to use for brushes especially. I thank you so much!!

chrissabug

Ahh! I’m so glad you liked the tutorial! Yeah, digital art can be overwhelming since there are so many tools! If you haven’t seen it, it might be helpful for you to watch my tutorial on my digital workflow for beginners. In that tutorial I try and actually label all the tools and brushes I use even more clearly for beginners to follow along.

Pink-lava

Thank you! I just finished watching that too. I can't thank you enough for helping me jump into digital art a little easier and less frustrating 🥰🥰 I'm so thankful for ur knowledge
