Im finally back in the office, currently reviewing my photos. The sky was rather flat, so I mostly took black and white photos on the DSLR. I figure when it’s time to make backgrounds, the thing that matters is the composition, I can draw whatever weather I need to in the illustration phase!

looks beautiful! what camera did you use?

hitsujigoods

Nikon D610 with mostly a Nikkor 18-35 G series! I used a B+W circular polarizer and a red filter as well, which is why some of the ultra wide shots have strong vignetting

There's hundreds more photos but, these are the most visually striking out of the camera. The rest are mainly just for drawing reference, so the lightings not as interesting

ooo, very nice! i saw an infrared d610 for sale locally a while ago but didn’t pick it up :(

Thank you for building all these boss

The rich dark greys of the sky are so good! I absolutely love how you set up the composition.

Great photo on those turbines, where did u take those photos at? BTW might u draw an art of Kara in ya clothes at the same position in front of those turbines?

Miy Eterp

Wow that's great!

Sick, kinda haunting too for the first one

It looks ominous, as if you were awaiting judgment for your sins, silent and dark

Also, Nike ACG Smith Summit pants? Could not reccomend them more. Actually unreal how comfortable they were. I ordered a second pair the minute I got back to Portland.

I'd love to pick your brain some time on what settings you use

A big piece of advice is to shoot on a low shutter speed using a wide angle lens. It enables you to get sharp photos while also retaining some motion blur for things like the turbines

Skullingto

That second picture looks like it's taken from one of those cameras they used to record the effects of nuclear explosions

Iunno if it's because I'm a little tipsy but that first one is so well done, i would see if your local photo gallery would take it as a submission.
