There's this art challenge going around Instagram lately where artists take a piece that they did back in 2009 and re draw it to see how much they've improved and give that art a nice glow up! So I gave it a go!

I drew this when I was 16 on Manga Studio 4 on my first digital tablet while I was first learning how to do digital art. I was still trying to get the hang of not looking at my hand while drawing and getting used to how the tablet and programs worked. I'm quite proud to say that I can see how much I have grown as an artist over these 10 years not only in skill, but I also I found my style and how I like to express myself through my art. I've learned quite a few different techniques and how to apply them, I learned more about composition, character design, and it's really cool to see how I can put those things I've learned into my art. :)

This was also the time where my now husband were OBSESSED with Naruto and so we decided to create a character based on the nine tailed fox, Kurama named Kyuu (I know, creative right)? We were and are still such nerds! In fact, loving the show Naruto was one of the first things that bonded us together as friends and I'm so happy that our friendship grew into something really special. I'm very lucky to be married to my best friend and someone I can still nerd out with. <3

I will finish the colors soon and post it, but I wanted to show you guys the lines by themselves because they came out so well. <3

Thank you for your support!
