LEPRECHAUN RETURNS (2018) Movie Review | Boots To Reboots

The Maniacal Cinephile reviews Leprechaun Returns (2018), the eighth installment in the Leprechaun franchise and a direct sequel to the 1993 cult classic. This time, the film ditches all the bizarre sequels (Leprechaun in Space, anyone?) and brings the mischievous little menace back to his roots - literally - since he’s been festering in a well for 25 years! Taylor Spreitler stars as Lila Jenkins, the daughter of Jennifer Aniston’s character from the original film, who fights the pint-sized terror haunting her sorority house. But with Warwick Davis sitting this one out, can newcomer Linden Porco fill those tiny, murderous shoes? Leprechaun Returns delivers plenty of laughs, inventive kills, and even some sly jabs at horror tropes, making it a surprisingly fun ride for slasher fans. What We Cover in This Review: The best (and bloodiest) kills How Linden Porco stacks up as the new Leprechaun The film’s self-aware humor & horror movie satire Nostalgia factor & Mark Holton’s return as Ozzie Jones Does this reboot-sequel do the franchise justice? If you’re a fan of Leprechaun (1993), enjoy horror-comedy, or just want to see a leprechaun split someone in two with a solar panel, this one’s for you!
