SINNERS (2025) Movie Review | Maniacal Cinephile

In this review, The Maniacal Cinephile sinks his fangs into SINNERS (2025), the bold new horror film written and directed by Ryan Coogler. Set in the haunting backdrop of 1932 Mississippi, this Southern Gothic tale stars Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as twin brothers Smoke and Stack, who return to their hometown for a fresh start. But their plans are derailed when a mysterious and malevolent Irish immigrant vampire named Remmick arrives, unleashing chaos and bloodshed. We break down the plot, performances, themes, and unique genre mashups of SINNERS, including its powerful blend of social commentary, vampire horror, and historical drama. Is this the next Get Out or a cult classic in the making? Let’s find out! Featuring commentary from Andy the Maniacal Cinephile and his twisted personalities, this review brings both analysis and laughs in equal measure!
