MOONSTRUCK LUNATICS RISE UP

PimpMySims4

Wow I'm surprised Atonement actually made the list. I hope it gets one of the top spots!

Nicholas Loduca

Past Lives absolutely destroyed me. The visual storytelling is amazing

JL Green

As odd as this may sound, Rebecca (for me), is a better private review than the others. I think The Graduate and Moonstruck lean more toward your sensibilities.

Bryan Tuck

THE GRADUATE is definitely something to check out at some point. It was very influential and was one of the films that sort of kickstarted the American film "renaissance" of the late-60s/70s. Also, PAST LIVES is a lovely film if you're in the mood for something more recent.

Kaitlin

Little Women (1994) has the superior costumes and casting and I’ll die on this hill!

Legion

Do you bite your thumb AT US, sir?

Mesk

the graduate is one of the best films ever. It's a building block to how we view and make movies. Watch it, my friend.

Cameron Berry

And so begin my weeks of constantly voting for Atonement. I believe it can win.

Kaitlin

I just want to say I’ve got beef with everyone who didn’t support my Dirty Dancing comment. Can I just confirm we’ve got Dirty Dancing fans here?

Jeighdaaaa

Not sure if you’ve seen it yet but In the Mood for Love would be so amazing

kbobravo

Always for more Hitchcock, and Rebecca is his only Best Picture winner

Moustache Rousse

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind My own private Idaho Ghost world , for further romance list maybe

Nathaniel Grayson

As much as I LOVE Moonstruck, I think you would love Phantom Thread. It’s such a beautiful film.

Michael Proch

Just rewatched Phantom Thread recently and it's got to be one of my favorite from PTA

Russian Paul

Tromeo & Juliet is the most faithful Shakespearean adaptation put to film lol it takes itself way less seriously than the dicaprio version and is a lot more fun. Graduate = yes!

UNC

Phantom Thread!

Linda

Yes, how dare Moonstruck be a real crowd pleaser? It's such a bitch that way. 😎😎😎

Linda

Sid and Nancy is a romance for the ages. Please consider that one at some point. 🔥

Adam Williams

Phantom Thread is DDL's final movie so I think it's worthy of a watch but really whenever you want lol

RICHARD

The Graduate is a must see for any genre. I'm really, really sad that Rebecca is doing so poorly in the poll. It's a Hitchcock film starring Laurance Olivier and Joan Fontaine, an absolute classic.

Tetley

Rebecca and Past Lives.

Brett Coster

My two choices are: 1. Rebecca - a wonderful early-US Hitchcock 2. Romeo+Juliet - although I definitely prefer the 1968 Ziffirelli version (ohhh, Olivia!), and Baz Luhrman is loved or hated with no real in-between (or maybe that's just here in Aus) but this is one of his better films

Kara

Past Lives gang rise up! fav of the oscars roster for me (tied with Anatomy of a Fall)

Tetley

Her is a cool movie but it's not getting much love as a rewatch. James can we please swap in The Duke of Burgundy (2014) for the next round of votes? It's a romance like no other. Beautifully directed by Peter Strickland.

Michael Proch

PTA is really a wild director because it’s crazy to think that the same person who made Boogie Nights is the same person who made There Will be Blood is the same person who made Inherent Vice is the same person who made Phantom Thread.

Cliff Douglas

As a film maker you should see The Graduate if you never seen it. At least that what NYU film students always go on about.🤣

Chaos T

Romeo+Juliet originally I didn't like but over time have grown to enjoy. It's one of the best modern interpretations of the classical play. Shakespeare probably would have liked the interpretation of the literature presented in the film.

Steve Lythgoe

Hey James and crew. Loved your reaction to Romeo + Juliet and if it’s romance in the air I’d like to suggest putting ‘Moulin Rouge’ up for a vote sometime. Sound and design off the chain!

Randall Keizer

Please watch Moonstruck. Atonement has the most incredible long sustained shot (a battlefield shot nonetheless) I have ever seen?
