Raw 2016, My favorite French film of the last decade Kuroneko 1968, Classic Japanese horror, listed as "Black Cat" on IMDB

Brett Coster

My two recommendations are: 1. Peeping Tom (1960). The film that ended Michael Powell's career, which came out before Hitchcock's Psycho, but is now seen as a great horror. 2. The Cabinet of Dr Caligari (1920). The first major horror movie Glad to see you reviewing films again. Ciao bella!

Have a great time! I think you would really appreciate Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu (2024) if you haven’t already seen it. I would love to hear your thoughts as a film maker.

RICHARD

Have fun, time with family is always a priority.

Reece McAllen

Hi James, my recommendations to you are the two following: Terrifier (2016) IT (2017) I know both movies are both in relation to clowns and if it isn’t to your taste then you don’t have to watch them in my personal opinion they are both really solid movies that you could check out! I only recently became a Patreon member of yours at the start of the month via the £8 tier and your content is amazing, of course I watch your videos via YouTube too but there is something special about being able to support you and watch some of my favourite TV shows that you are currently reacting to which is a great experience to have. I hope you are having a great trip with your Mum in Italy! Greetings from Northern Ireland :)

JL Green

My two selections are "30 Days Of Night" and "From Hell"

John Baxter

Evil Dead (1981) and The Howling II-Stirba Werewolf Bitch

Madame Phoenica

Ahh L'Italia Bella! Hope you guys have a lot of fun in Italy! I haven't really posted that much since subscribing to Patreon, but I have watched a few of the movie reactions and so far The Others has been my favourite. On that note, I have a couple of suggestions for scary/horror movie reactions for October. The first is Stephen King's IT from 1990. Someone else in the comments mentioned the 2017 remake, but would highly recommend checking out the 1990 original before watching the remake as there are easter eggs from the original in the remake. Secondly, I'd also recommend Stephen King's Pet Sematary from 1989. I watched both this one and the 1990 IT when I was a teenager, and they both gave me chills. Would love to watchalong one or both with you!

It Follows

Raul Panzar

Wolfen (1981) and The Vanishing (1988). Do not watch the 1993 remake of The Vanishing, it's not good!

Robert Hummons

Hey man, thanks for the fun remarks! Please review the French Dispatch, Phoenician Scheme, & Darjeeling Limited. Hope you and your mom have a great time!

Kana Kawase

Scary movies? How about a scary TV show? I think you would really enjoy Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. Well, I say "enjoy"... I recommended Darkplace before, but I'll do it again. It doesn't have very many reactions on Youtube, and it has a dedicated fanbase, so it would surely draw in some fresh viewers to your channel. It is also the kind of show that would really benefit from a filmmaker's POV. Your reaction to the wonky ADR in Sopranos made me sure that you would appreciate this show. Plus, its only 6 episodes, so you could bang it out in 3 weeks. It's a comedy, but it would be fitting Halloween viewing. I'll also throw in a recommendation for Twin Peaks, though that show is much more of a time commitment, with some very rough patches in the second season. The Twin Peaks movie, Fire Walk With Me, is truly terrifying, and though reviled upon it's release, has really grown in appraisal over the years. The revival series, Twin Peaks: The Return, is, in my opinion, the single greatest season of television ever. In a media landscape riddled with nostalgia bait, The Return kicks the viewer's nostalgia right in the groin. Considering how much you appreciate the dream sequences in The Sopranos, I'm sure you would enjoy Twin Peaks. David Chase has spoken openly about how that series influenced him.

I think it's time for Hellbound: Hellraiser II !!

Alex Thrailkill

Pretty sure Mad God was on the poll before… DO IT!

James

A great "because why not" show for October would definitely be more What We Do in the Shadows! Have fun in Italy with the Mommas!

Josh Bakos

Raw (2016) & Titane (2021), both directed by Julia Ducournau

stephen paul fletcher

Hope you have a great time in the boot with your mommas man, you deserve a break.

Sacha Probst

Van Diemen's Land (2009) Is a personal underrated favourite about a group of escaped convicts who realise they have no where to go. Not the most substantive but showcases some harsh realities of human behaviour. Also has some of the most beautiful and menacing nature shots ive seen in film as well as a very eerie cinematography/sequencing direction that makes the film for me.

Night King01

Sleepy Hollow 1999 is a great time. Also the guest from 2014. I may be cheating a little woth the guest but it is a send up to slasher/action films like the terminator. Plus its set during halloween

Michael Proch

I’m struggling to think of any horror films I love you haven’t already watched, but two more recent ones would be “Barbarian” from 2022 and “Shin Godzilla” from 2016

Andrew Schremp

Thats a good mom you must have! Hope you both enjoy your time together.

SimplySteph215

Awww nothing like a man who takes care of mom! I know she’s proud of you. I’m not a huge horror movie person, but the original Poltergeist used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid.

William Davis

Hey James, when you have the chance, might you be able to provide a link to your YouTube reaction to “The Pianist”? I don’t see it on the channel so I assume it was blocked, but I see the uncut on here, do you have the cut version on any other platform, such as Vimeo?

Alex Crumb

I was just in Italy for my honeymoon, wild!
