Night King01

I dont know how many of Joey Pants lines as ralph are scripted but he is hilarious. I met him at a con this year and asked him if David Chase ever let him change any of the lines and he said that david let him work with the script and improvise. It might be exaggerated but david chase does not let many people change whats written on the page

RIP Burt Young. Never gave a bad performance. Some great movies he’s been in are Once Upon a Time in America and the Pope of Greenwich Village. And that laugh after he killed Mustang Sally was diabolical.

The line about with extreme prejudice, I believe was a reference to Apocalypse Now when the CIA orders the main character to kill Colonel Kurtz. “Terminate… with extreme prejudice.”

I think they said Bacala sr was mustangs sally’s godfather. He just called him uncle. I did hear a story from Michael Franzese who is a former mobster on his youtube channel. He said he knew a made guy who killed his own father because he was ordered to. He was afraid to walk in his house alone cause he thought his father was haunting him.

You know ralph is pure evil when he laughs at silvio hitting tracee. Not to mention what happens later

Cagey means to be reluctant to give information, commit to something or be pinned down.

Ralphie is so evil. He kinda reminds me of Frank from Blue Velvet

To be honest the more times I watch this show, I don't think Tony is offering the cop money out of pity, he wants to bribe him just to make a point of it.

yea these episodes david chase made a point to make the episodes more cruel and nihilistic. I think it's important as to show the mob life not being glamorous but disgusting. The charm and humor that we usually see in a lot of scenes is just gone, and you get basically no catharsis. Just raw truth that the mob life destroys everything decent around it. I know HBO was worried about this episode being alienating to the audience.

Season 3 has some of my favorite episodes (Employee of the Month, University, and Pine Barrens). I especially like University because of how gritty and cynical it is. Aside from maybe The Wire, you don't really get that with other shows. I think people were starting to get too charmed by the mobsters in the show so David Chase had to remind everyone that they're violent sociopaths.

quick question, is there a preferred way to watch james' unedited stuff, i remember with BCSAUL i could just sync my copy with the video within a sec or 2 and would be fine because james' commentary was the only audio but trying to sync these sopranoes episodes to james' audio is near on impossible
