The Return EP 3 & 4 Uncut

Don't think you caught it while watching it, but the gigantic floating head that said "Blue Rose" to Cooper, was Major Briggs.

Yours truly, Johnny Dollar

I generally consider Leland's killing of Maddie to be more disturbing than anything in the first two episodes of season 3.

Another double dose of amazing episodes! Thanks for doing 2 at a time ad always!

Also, you'll want to stick out after the credits for these episodes

It didn’t hit me until I rewatched the entire series a year ago and watched The Return right after Fire Walk With Me, but the way everyone around Dougie/Cooper fails realize how unwell he is reminds me of how obviously Laura was in pain and no one did anything about it.

Kyle Turman

Some of these ending scenes in the bar will have actual story and character dialogue, so it's best not to skip (I can't remember how many are like that)

The vomit, by the way, was garmonbozia. Both Dougie's (fat Kyle), and doppel-Coop's (stinky-Kyle). Garmonbozia is the physical manifestation of pain and suffering, that Bob and the other demons feed on. It's also creamed corn, which sounds reasonably accurate to me.

Note the decorations in Gordon Cole's office: a giant blowup of an atomic explosion on one wall, and directly facing it: a portrait of Franz Kafka.

I loved seeing how excited you got at Bobby’s appearance, this season really cements him as one of the best Twin Peaks characters imo. Also, the name of the actor playing Sheriff Truman is Robert Forster!

Barjas

It broke my heart that you didn't recognize Major Briggs as a floating head in the middle of nothingness. Also, the final scene of episode four is one of my favorites, when Lynch himself says that he doesn't understand this situation at all. Makes me feel included.

Night King01

Ah, the iconic line and the birth of an immortal meme. “What the hell” the gordon cole reacting vids back in the day were legendary

One of the things I love about the Return is how, in an age of nostalgia bait, Lynch and Frost acknowledge your nostalgia, then turn around and ignore it and just do something completely different. Dougie Jones is such great anti-nostalgia. And this is coming from someone who considers Dale Cooper one of her favorite fictional characters of all time. Speaking of favorite fictional characters, I would love to see a team-up of Dale Cooper and Marge Gunderson from Fargo.

David Lynch must have really been moved by Dana Ashbrook's crying, between the scene with Laura's photo in The Return and Major Briggs telling Bobby about his vision in the original series.

Hanna

And I don't know if you were aware Lucy son- Michael Cera is supposed to be imitating Marlon Brando- Modeled after outlaw biker character in "The Wild One 1953" Also notice his name is Wally Brando & has birthday same as Brando (April 3) lol. David Lynch - I remember reading something he had asked Cera if he knew Marlon Brando and then Cera studied up and they said Lynch loved it & got the cadence and everything perfect.

Bro the Michael cera scene kills me every time I can’t help but bust up laughing as soon as he shows up and all the awkward pauses and faux intellectual/ pretentious musings crack me up to no end . The shadow lines are hilarious . The hell yeah pose, everything. Which is something I adore about this season , cuz it isn’t just the darkest of the dark but it’s also the brightest of the bright. I think the dark takes over but the bright heartwarming or hilarious scenes or just extremely poignant scenes like Bobby crying at remembering Laura… or the jazzy montage of Dougie learning how to sit at the table for 10 minutes… just fill me up with so much love. I really don’t know how else to explain it. My neurons in my brain go completely electric .

Yours truly, Johnny Dollar

Michael Ontkean (Harry Truman) was alive but didn't want to return to the show for reasons that he didn't want disclosed ( I am assuming health). Robert Forrester is about an ideal replacement though, and I love how reacts to absurdity Lynch throws at him. In all, 3 major cast members died before any filming for this.

Shawn Harden

The way Cera played that character always made me think he was actually Dick Tremaine's kid. But it wouldn't matter to Andy or Lucy nor would it even occur to them

The Misanthrope

I have a bit of a confession to make about a guilty pleasure, I've seen all of this series multiple times through the years as well as delved deep into other Lynch works and such. And yet....Dougie is my absolute favorite character in all of Twin Peaks maybe even all of Lynch's body of work and enjoyed every bit: I never thought I would but it's just too wholesome overall, I like the dream like, impossible wholesomeness of Dougie and his arch.
