The Return EP 5 & 6 Uncut

The key to watch The Return I think is to just let it sink in. Don't try to figure everything out (mostly because you won't) and just let it happen, I guarantee that way after you're done watching the show you'll still be thinking about the questions and reflections David Lynch poses to the audience here

I personally have mixed feelings on The Return as a whole, sometimes I think it’s amazing but other times I find it way too intentionally befuddling. That being said, I do love seeing Dougie/Cooper failing upward at his job. Also, your reaction to the kid getting hit with the car cracked me up. Your eyes got bigger than your head lol.

You're probably confusing Diane with Caroline. Caroline was Windom Earle's wife. She and Cooper fell in love before the series began, and that was the catalyst for Windom becoming what you saw in season 2. Diane is the secretary to whom Cooper often sent voice memos. She never died. She "appeared" in Fire Walk With Me, but was never actually seen on screen. The first time we ever saw her was in this episode, played by Laura Dern.

The first time I binged this season I was feverish, but I sure enjoyed they way in which it dragged, very dreamy. Also I'd watch a Dougie spinoff 'Teach me How to Dougie' ? Well the pilot at least.

The Misanthrope

I think I fall where most people nowadays would which is that while I was far too young to watch the original run being 9 at the time I did discover Lynch through other films first (Mulholland Drive was my first Lynch experience) So I actually went back to watch all of Seasons 1 and 2 as well as FWWM first but this was a good 15 years or so before the return. So coming from not just the film version of Lynch but arguably the deep end of it I was expecting a dark and disturbing ending, it was actually the humor of the show that threw me off for the longest time ngl: A young edgy guy was not ready to not only run into a bunch of humor but to actually get endeared to a good chunk of it legitimately

Oh my god next week! iykyk

I understand your laughs James! There was something absolutely weird and uncanny about a lot of it. The accident is horrifying while also looking like some sort of weird PSA with bad acting. Which I've assumed was intentional. Ike the spike is hilarious while being terrifying! The whole season is a lot to take in! Loving the reaction!

Oh, man... you are in for such a mindf*** next week.

George Ray

Love these pairing of episodes but next week will be beyond epic! Monumental cinema right there!

Cheers, J. So much to say! But no spoilers from me. Maybe later!

That's the old man from Fire Walk With Me, who runs the trailer park the agent disappears at. Notice the electric pole with "6" marked on it near where the boy dies which was also shown in that same trailer park in the movie. The black lodge entities have mentioned electricity before. Are they harnessing the mother's "garmonbozia" (pain and suffering)? It's usually signified by the cream corn, and they clearly feed off of it.
