LETS GOOOOOO (rip nacho <3)

George Ray

I've been waiting for this episode ever since you started reacting to this series, let's go!!!!!!!!!

Matt

IT WAS ME!

Nacho knows he's going to get caught one day. There's no way out for him. This way, he gets to ensure his father's safety on Mike's word. The original plan seems to be him getting "put down" but instead he changed it up to that he was the one who pulled the trigger. Still dead, result of the plan the same, but out on his own terms as much as was possible for him at this stage. Everybody in that final scene apart from Nacho appears in Breaking Bad, so the result was reasonably clear. But also, everybody in that final scene is dead by the end of Breaking Bad.

They told Nacho multiple times this that he is going to die, and he accepted if he had his father's protection. So he made it go the way they needed it to.

Nacho’s plan was always to sacrifice himself to save his father. He knew that if he ran, his father’s life would be in danger. That’s why he made Mike promise to keep his father safe.

I'd recommend listening to the Better Call Saul podcast to this episode they shed a lot of light on everything and Michael Mando goes into great lengths on his perspective.

Spooge, the client Jimmy sees at the nail salon, is the guy whose head was crushed by an ATM in Breaking Bad.

Nacho went out on his own terms & kicked Hector in the mental nuts on his way out. Also he got to toy with Gus by looking at him after Bolsa asked him if anyone else was involved & then straight up emasculated Gus saying “Him? You think the chicken man was involved? What a joke.” It reminds me of what Tupac’s character Bishop said in Juice: “”You wanna go out? That’s how you go out. That motherfucker took his destiny in his own hands.” RIP to a great character Nacho.

This one is heartbreaking. Nacho was such a good character, so complex. I was gutted. At least he went out on his own term and not put down like a rabid dog by psychopath Victor. Gus has been messing up this season. He kept not listening to Mike's advice. Mike wanted to take Nacho in, save him and then let him go but Gus didnt care for any of that. He saw Nacho as disposable. He wanted Nacho to die in a gun fight with the twins but he didnt count on Nacho's survival instinct and resilience. Nacho sacrificed himself so his father would be protected. The plan was always for him to die. He derived a bit from the plan when he saw the broken glass on the trash and took a piece. He didnt want to be put down by Victor, so he made sure he had an out. But he also knew he could survive anyway, so he took his own life. He got out of the game on his own.

Nacho knows the best way to keep his father safe is to make the cartel think it was all him and not Gus. The plan was always for him to die, but he pulls the gun and dies on his own terms rather than being shot dead while escaping. EP 3 is a really stunning piece of television and, for my money, the best use of being a prequel any media has ever done. When Nacho pulls the gun, every single other character in the scene lives until the Breaking Bad timeline. He's not just fighting a bunch of armed people, he's fighting the metatextual reality of the show itself. It reinforces how doomed he is and how the only option is to shoot himself. Others have pointed out that if it weren't for Nacho, the Breaking Bad timeline likely wouldn't have happened. Nacho's sacrifice saves his father and dooms every other character in that scene. An incredible character + performance by Michael Mando.

The Mr Spooge who is waiting at the nail salon is the guy who got his head squashed by an ATM but obviously pre meth. In BB Saul tells Walt that he was a former client of his. The new office at the end of 04 is the same one Saul has in BB. Episode 4 was also directed by Kim Wexler herself Rhea Seehorn.

Walt

The plan Nacho made with Gus and Mike was to run away after confessing everything, and they’d shoot him dead from there. Nacho threw a curveball at the last second with his move against Bolsa and his suicide. He wanted to go out on his own terms rather than let Gus and Hector decide his end for him too

Tim Martin

As far as “what’s the point” to Kim and Jimmy’s plan —the REAL point, I think you’ll eventually see. But their purpose is to force the Sandpiper settlement and get paid. And Jimmy was hesitant at first. Not so much anymore

Matt

Not sure if you noticed but shout out to Rhea Seehorn ( Kim ) who directed episode 4

NuzeroN

Excited 😊 as always

Payam Sharifi

Really good thumbnail for episode 4 lol, might be the single moment in the ep where Jimmy looks the most like Howard

I love to witness people oozing talent!! Michael Mando's acting has been nothing short of incredible and that last speech was just a cherry on top! Then Rhea Seehorn directing the next episode giving us clever camera shots! And don't even get me started on her acting!

Thall

Don't worry about it man. Took me half a year before the "I CAN'T believe Nacho did that" intrusive thoughts stopped.

Wavy Jones!

Nacho's "You think of me" speech is probably the only time he channeled Vaas during this characters arc. I gotta say I appreciate how Mando didn't just recycle his best character ever, he did something totally different with Nacho, but in the last moments he gave us a little taste of Vaas which I absolutely love.

Hoping we still getting some more today! 🫣🤌🤌
