(Turns to my Patreon audience, the most dedicated RttS fans on the internet) So have y'all heard about centaur clans?

Lmao anyways. This book is written with the expectation that most readers will be completely unfamiliar with setting, which is a good thing, but I do feel silly sometimes writing entry-level lore exposition and then presenting it to Patreon like half of you haven't scoured the RttS tumblr tag back to the first post.

I genuinely love how much thought you put into different species' societal and familial structures! It's so complex and well developed! The way you incorporate it and write these bits of exposition diagetically as like casual xenoanthropology; im just constantly blown away by your writing <3

Oh you know it took me a minute to realize that this is also going to be the first peek into home planet centaur clothing new readers will get. Tassels everywhere! Antler jewelry! Then theres us over here thinking oh yeah they’re dressed to impress with tons of small tassels and flowy formal wear. Yeah that style is fun and different but having read the tags back to the first post we know there’s a biological influence to some degree. All those small moving adornments are meant to grab attention because they have small moving object prey drive. Which of course we know because it was mentioned at least twice in the Shyam hand flapping stuff and the page about parade dress….. oh right this page is about the clan structure. I wonder if the mystery example matriarch has all six pupa there….

I, for one, am a fairly recent member of the Patreon. While I've done some reading of the other stories there, my RttS exposure is 100% limited to what you're putting out here and I really appreciate the lore dump pages because it's all totally new to me. Thank you for the insights!

I mean... scoured back to? No... I started at eh first and have been slowly working my way foirward since i found the comic a few months ago. But I'm still only up to the 2018s... there is a lot to read and take in. (Same with the Patreon, I'm trying to comb through them at the same speed.)

Love Idrisah asking (from a genuinely caring place!) if Talita’s ever tried picking up a centaur language right after Idrisah herself just talked about how weird and fake it feels to try and learn as an adult a language many people would assume she grew up speaking.

Hmm, in semi-related worldbuilding stuff, do centaurs tend to assume that nomadic (or nomadic looking, phenotype-wise) centaurs will know at least a bit of whatever language they speak? I could see that being a thing, in a "you pass through every year, you should at least be able to say hello in our language" sort of way.
