No one can stay on Dirtball forever.

These two are going to be gone from the narrative for about 30 pages, which is approximately forever in episodic update time, but will feel totally normal backreading. Er, see you two in three to four months...

Edit: My comment may be misleading. 30 pages is three to four months of drawing, and about 24 hours in universe.

seriously though jay, it’s a testament to your writing skills that even though these three obviously meet up again on the runaway, i’m on the edge of my seat waiting to see how it finally all comes together. i never would’ve predicted that idrisah and gillie would leave for a while first and while i obviously know they come back, i’m going to miss them the whole time and wait with baited breath to see what makes them to decide to join talita…and also see how their absence makes talita’s growing sense of isolation feel even more pointed. shit is about to hurt so good i can feel it

I can feel Idrisah’s overwhelmed emotions boiling over through my screen. Poor girl is at the end of her rope! Then there’s Talita…. At first I thought she might also be seeing the signed conversation but realized it’s probably not visible to her (at least in its entirety). Either way I felt a little panic over the thought of Talita thinking she’s about to become even more isolated. Say it with me: “Talita alone & isolated on dirtball isn’t real and can’t hurt me.” (Repeat as needed, add nervous fidgeting etc to taste, may contain second hand stress)

ohhh OW. understandable that dirtball’s not really an ideal long-term workplace, with how it’s been compared to working on an oil rig in terms of isolation. i wonder how often talita’s gone through this sort of thing, after- ten years of working here if i’m remembering right? how many people has she gotten to know and lose to distance over that time presumably like calcery?

can i just say i genuinely and truly appreciate that you let characters have ugly crying faces. like i aint even joking it makes me so happy to see characters actually get into their emotions without worrying about being pretty
