Why you need proper HE rounds for Tanks

In this video we talk about high explosive tank ammo, particularly the difference between "dumb HE", "smart HE" and HEAT-FS rounds. Why the latter are not used anymore. We also cover the differences in regards to indirect fire between NATO, the Warsaw Pact and Russia. Cover design by vonKickass. Disclosure in 2018, 2019, 2020 & 2023 I was invited by the Panzermuseum Munster. https://www.youtube.com/c/DasPanzermuseum/videos »» GET BOOKS & VIDEOS «« » Stukabook - Doctrine of the German Dive-Bomber - http://stukabook.com » The Assault Platoon of the Grenadier-Company November 1944 (StG 44) - http://sturmzug.com » Army Regulation Medium Panzer Company 1941 - http://www.hdv470-7.com » Tank Assault - Combat Manual of the Soviet Tank Forces 1944 - http://stm44.com » IS-2 Stalin's Warhammer - http://www.is-2tank.com » StuG: Ausbildung, Einsatz und Führung der StuG Batterie - http://stug-hdv.de » Achtung Panzer? Military History Visualized

Note, the first video had an error in it. This is the corrected version, no need to watch again, here are the changes: The shown round DM 12 (HEAT-FS) has actually an additional fragmentation effect, it is subpar compared to regular HE rounds, but I stated it does not have one, that is wrong. Note that the FS stands for fin stabilized, the fins are clearly visible in the thumbnail.
