Videos for next week will be as follows:

Tuesday: Pronunciation guide for World of Warships German Ship Names, in this one I also included some background information on the name of the ship, e.g., why it makes perfectly sense that Scharnhorst and Gneisenau were sister-ships.

Friday: Thanks to your support I could invest in various reprints of official German army regulations and other primary sources, thus I could tackle a question that arose about a year ago, namely if hip-firing the MG-34 was "standard thing".

Well, dont know about the mg34, but ive been a MG gunner in the army using the mg3, very similar to the mg42 just smaller caliber. And firing from the hip could be usefull during fast retreat or a assault for supression. Only drawback is the vast amount of ammunition you and your crew has to carry, but nothing supresses better than 1100 rounds pr minute. Looking forward to see what youve come up with.

interesting, thank you, that almost answers a second question I raise in the video that I haven't any data on. Although, I guess 7.92mm vs. 7.62mm doesn't make a huge difference in terms of recoil I guess.

When I'm carrying my FN MAG and have to turn in an intersection, I usually have to bring it to hip-fire position to cover the road we're not taking. I've also hipfired it on occasion when exiting my IFV or running about in a swamp.
