Today (Sunday) there will be a short sürprise video in about 2 hours.

For next week, there is on Tuesday my short "strategic" view on why it is unlikely there will be a first person shooter with a German Campaign in WW2 by a major publisher anytime soon, but also how one such game could happen. Also I explain why this is related to the channel.

On Friday there will be a video on German guidelines for breaking out of an encirclement from 1944 based on a training regulation and also some notes by the German Panzer General Oskar Munzel on this issue.

It will be heavy on German quotes and this time, I will only read the German and simultaneously display the German & English quote on screen.

Your video about rainbow dash still didn't answer the question, interesting...

Military History Visualized

what question? If I am a bronie/brony? Well, nope I am not, I didn't know what a bronie was before I was "accused" being on after using Rainbow Dash. I know him (I learned today it is actually a her) back in the slashdot days when hackers used him on defacing various websites.

Sounds good :) By 45 the Germans must have been rather experienced at breaking Ivan's sieges. I often wonder how much longer Germany could have held out in the east if it were not for Hitler's 'Festung' tactics and the armed prisoner of war camp that was Heeresgruppe Courland). As for playing as a clean Wehrmacht soldier I would love if game devs embraced history instead of being politically correct (I draw the line at anything SS). In Close Combat type games and Warthunder if I cant play as the Aussies I usually play as Germany. As for the perks good stuff I just got myself a commission!

While I'm sure there were plenty of Wehrmacht soldiers "just doing their duty", or fighting out of a sense of national pride, I know for a fact that the idea of the Wehrmacht being "clean" is a myth. In relation to the topic at hand, I would love to see a WW2 game or simulation featuring an interactive German campaign through the eye's of a common German soldier. However, I think accuracy is important when studying history and we should not suppress the realities and depth of the Wehrmacht's knowledge of and involvement in oppression, war crimes, and other atrocities. Here's some resources, MHV, feel free to enlighten me on this subject as I'm not an expert, but I don't think it is accurate or ethical to "white-wash" or downplay the dark the side of the Wehrmacht in WW2. http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/rape-murder-and-genocide-nazi-war-crimes-as-described-by-german-soldiers-a-755385-5.html
