This is definitely one of my favorites, great topic! Snipers have such an interesting psychological profile. It appears that the ideal sniper candidate would be a calm, rational, athletic, nimble, cautious, observant, unusually-mature young adult with excellent visual acuity and perception plus many years of experience as a hunter, hiker, backpacker, or outdoors-man. In addition to these traits, the ideal sniper candidate would also be experienced in mindfulness and breathing meditation, yoga, climbing, game-tracking, and would possess some psychopathic traits such as experiencing minimal to no heart rate or blood pressure elevation prior to and after killing humans who they have been observing for 24 hours or more using a high-power lens. It's a strange set of skills and psychological traits indeed.
