Ambushing TiK at Tank Fest - Hit & Run Tactics, Books, Factors and Post-It Doctrine

So, while at Tank Fest 2018, a wild TiK appeared, hence we met in front of a KV-1 and started to talk about our channels, our approach to history, about reading, scripting, post-its, tanks, factors, analysis, comments and all the other stuff. Big thank you to the Tank Museum for inviting me to Tank Fest 2018. »» SUPPORT MHV «« » patreon - https://www.patreon.com/mhv » paypal donation - https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=TFHEY4P4YU3NY » Book Wishlist https://www.amazon.de/gp/registry/wishlist/3LJIXNJIUXJES/ref=cm_wl_huc_view »» MERCHANDISE - SPOILS OF WAR «« » shop - https://www.redbubble.com/people/mhvis/shop »» SOCIAL MEDIA «« » minds.com - https://www.minds.com/militaryhistoryvisualized » facebook - https://www.facebook.com/milhistoryvisualized/ » twitter - https://twitter.com/MilHiVisualized » twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/militaryhistoryvisualized » RallyPoint - https://www.rallypoint.com/organizations/military-history-visualized » tumblr - http://militaryhistoryvisualized.tumblr.com/ Military History for Adults is a support channel to Military History Visualized with a focus personal accounts, answering questions that arose on the main channel and showcasing events like visiting museums, using equipment or military hardware. » "SOURCES" (BOOKS MENTIONED) « Hill, Alexander: The Red Army and the Second World War. Excellent talk on best use of books. Is espec. applicable to creators. Are techniques used such as skim, then self query what it's about, then read in detail, and then review and self-query again...or other techniques? Do you jump in based on the index? FINALLY: There you stand in front of one of the most fascinating armor of the war. But do you show it at all? It's like a film on strip club attractions but interview is held with at most dancers' feet and ankles showing in background. Harrumph.

I can only speak for myself. It is always a mixture of several techniques and it really depends on the topic, my current mood, aim and type of book, e.g., German book usually have good to great Table of Contents, whereas they have absolutely lacking indexes. English books usually have bad Table of Contents (so weird titles that make no sense), yet excellent Indexes. So for German books, especially for the Germany and the Second World War Series, I often read whole chapters, since I know from their name what is in them. well, in live events like these I avoid talking about stuff my knowledge is limited about. Additionally, this was quite stressful, TiK and I met, talked and then I was like "let's do a video", then I backed off again due the noise, lots of people missing topic, then again, let's do it, then again back off and then finally we recorded. We might look quite relaxed, but that was Sunday, at that point I had 3 nights with around 3-5 hours of sleep... etc. I still have a nasty cough.
