The worst US General in World War 2?

In this video we talk about a major theater commander that was until recently portrayed in a very positive light that was almost "saint like". Yet, the recent historiography with access to newly available archives is not so positive about him, quite on the contrary. This video is about Joe Stilwell, who as in charge of the Chinese Expeditionary Force (Burma) and coordinated (kinda) with Chiang Kai-shek the leader of the Nationalist Chinese Forces. »» SUPPORT MHV «« » paypal donation - https://paypal.me/mhvis » patreon - https://www.patreon.com/mhv » subscribe star - https://www.subscribestar.com/mhv » Book Wishlist https://www.amazon.de/gp/registry/wishlist/3LJIXNJIUXJES/ref=cm_wl_huc_view?language=en_GB »» MERCHANDISE «« » teespring - https://teespring.com/stores/military-history-visualized » SOURCES « Ven, Hans van de: China at War: Triumph and Tragedy in the Emergence of the New China. Justin... 4:40 quotes source oozing of neo-marxism. Seemed that author wanted Stilwell to support the communists, which it used to be well understood that you stomp communism out. Lots of contradictions. Basically stated most any military-commander-insult that exists... on one side, 'Stilwell was a difficult man that didn't get along with anyone, super petty, etc.' Then... apparently an amazing politician to get people on his side, and got along well with many! 'Was seen' (stated like this to cast doubt) as an individually tough officer, who didn't even really walk out of Burma... but still apparently liked the field, did very well in it, and really respected his soldiers. I don't know, it all seemed very back and forth between insults that ended up not having much truth in them... 'the coward fled!' but couldn't have known there may have been a few resistors in the rout... Not sure, but I was wondering how effective comms and situational awareness is to have in the jungles of Burma. It sounds like the Chinese went into a full fledged rout before he followed suit. Again, wondering how effective general comms were in the entire China theater. If you look into the topic specifically, I'd be very interested. As far as Justin... I don't think he has the same critical thinking and skepticism that we're looking for. He's getting very excited about what he's been presented-[without a counter-argument]...

And ya, I might be too skeptical these days, but this seems like MacArthur all over again.
