Sober up! "Blitzkrieg on Speed"...

There are many old myths about World War 2 and particularly the Wehrmacht. Yet, in recent years a few new ones were added to the "game". One of them is the claim that the Wehrmacht was mostly on speed / Pervitin. Here Dr. Roman Töppel and I talk about some claims and particularly look at some numbers, because doing some maths actually shows how out of proportion some claims actually are. I 'm interested in the book you mentioned (co-written by a medic and by a historian) which examines Hitler's illnesses. I've now found it on Amazon. Was Hitler Ill?: A Final Diagnosis by by Henrik Eberle & Hans–Joachim Neumann.

What were the survival rates of Germany infantry & tank crews who were involved in Barbarossa from the very start? Has anyone tried to work this out?

Military History Visualized

German loss rates are extremely difficult, since there was no centralized system. I think only for wounded there was some. As such the German military losses were "recreated" with statistical methods by Rüdiger Overmans. The only thing that could be out there would be individual units, there could be something in Hartmann's Wehrmacht im Ostkrieg, but I doubt it.
