So the Tiger was a Medium Tank?

Usually the debate if a tank was medium or heavy is about the Panzerkampfwagen V Panther, yet, an argument that is usually brought forward by some that the Panther was a medium tank also would make the Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. E Tiger a medium tank. Additionally, I finally found the best document up to date for the light, medium and heavy Panzer discussion. If the official documentation you have uncovered does not seem to reference other army doctrinal defnitions for hardware, one wonders if veteran memoirs give consistent classifications of the vehicles they operated by mid to late war. Surely German armored crews reporting visual contact with enemy tanks would not be expected to report them in the manner of how the enemy classifies their own vehicles (for instance by employment doctrine, versus estimated weight or gun calibre)? Presuming not, I'd think that would have to be in a fairly common field manual for reconnaissance and contact reporting.
