I think that the German approach to and style of war is in general underrated. You get either Wehrboos who tend to over-estimate the technological level of the Wehrmacht and then the critics that point out all the flaws. My question here always is: if the Wehrmacht had all those flaws (first and foremost: poor logistics, and often inferior equipment), how did it come that they were able to achieve all those successes? This is something that cannot be ignored. On the flipside of this is this other question: if the US-forces were so overwhelmingly better equipped, how it comes it took them so much effort to defeat the Wehrmacht? The Italy campaign is here a good example. Because I think one tends to fall with the fallacy that the winner is better with everything. I wouldn't be so sure about that. - Because of that I think that I am going to get this book, it sounds very promising.

it is really a mixed bag. Since you have several levels: public, informed public, well-informed and experts. Then you have "worshipers" and then their enemies. Additionally, you also have a generational shift and also a shift based on countries, on top of that, in some cases one country "lags" behind by a few years in contrast to others. I already tried to address some of the problems in my Wehrmacht Logistics video, where I addressed that the quote about logistics vs. tactics should be taken in the context of the USA and especially the US Marine Corps. I agree with some of your points, although Italy might be a bit of problematic example since in some cases the terrain etc. was quite easy to defend. Yeah, I definitely can recommend the book, there will be more videos with Prof. Neitzel. The next one is already in early access btw.

‘’ Yeah, I definitely can recommend the book, there will be more videos with Prof. Neitzel.’’ Does he address alternative grand strategy that would have netted better chance of victory for Germany/
