The US Navy obviously had significant issues in introducing new technologies during WW2. The issues they had with torpedoes for the first 2 years of the war greatly impacted the course of the war. Whenever I read about some country introducing a “new” weapon or technology my first response is “I wonder if it really even works”. The Russians in particular seem to be regularly facing this issue recently.
