Looks like I'm too early for the video. What I've read suggests that the bombing was a mistake. It just made the position even easier to defend. But bombing always SOUNDS like a great idea when you are having trouble taking a position. Would the Germans have been better off if they hadn't conducted so much bombing of Stalingrad prior to the battle itself? Maybe.

Yeah, I always read that it made taking the cities like Stalingrad etc. harder; although I must say I am not actually sure how valid this really is. Cause why should rubble provide more cover than a complete building, e.g., 20 windows on an area of X x Y square feet vs. a smaller area? I wonder if anyone ever did a real study on this.
