I enjoyed it for sure, since I also watch the long-videos of Drach. So yes: more of these. You can join here forces. Maybe you find some primary sources of the Kriegsmarine and Drach can put the information into some sort of perspective. --- Speaking of perspective. It would actually have been more fair to compair the success-rate of the uboats in the Black Sea with the success-rate of the Typ II or Typ II B uboats in general. After all the question to be discussed is: "Was it worth to engage in the work of transporting those uboats to the Black Sea?" For which I sea two main subordinated questions: What was the impact of them in the Black Sea? Which obviously always goes beyond mere numbers of tonnage sunk. If the Soviet Navy changes to using smaller ships this also means that their logistical effectiveness was reduced (smaller ships = worse relation between fuel and men used per transported ton than using larger ships). And they have a fleet in being effect since the Soviet Navy had so poor anti-sub capabilities. Adding this to their seemingly poor AA capabilities this impaired the Soviet Navy's to offensive abilities since they had to care about two great dangers they weren't good in countering. Thus by their mere presence they might have detered any landing operations. The second subordinated question would be: "What could they have achieved in the North Sea or Atlantic?" Here my guess is that they were less of a loss as a fighting ship that sinks ship and more as a training ship. But if this was the case is hard to tell. --- I am not claiming to provide a definite answer, I just try to follow you doctrine of opening the mental horizon in which one can find an answer for oneself or the public. The answer would have to to judge the traide-off between the two subordinated questions. I wonder what Drach thinks of my mental sketch. After all I was inspired by his comment on the effect of the Fw 200 Condor in the Atlantic.

> Maybe you find some primary sources of the Kriegsmarine and Drach > can put the information into some sort of perspective. I actually had such a plan already in 2019? 2020? But we did not move forward with it for various reasons. This was basically a test, although with a different approach and since it took me almost as long as a regular complete(!) non-vis for reading, notes and recording, I don't think it will happen soon again or at least not in that form. So we might try the primary source idea out again. Then again, both of us have plenty of content anyway. > The second subordinated question would be: "What could they have achieved in the > North Sea or Atlantic?" I think Drach mentioned that, basically nothing.
