Leopard 2 for Ukraine? Pros & Cons

In this video we discuss Spain’s potential delivery of Leopard 2A4s to Ukraine. For this we particularly look at the strength and weaknesses of the Leopard 2A4 in context of the war in Ukraine, but also at the specifics of the deal. So we not only touch armor, firepower and mobility, but also logistics, training and other elements. Based on the current information available (9-10th June 2022), I don’t think the deal makes much sense. Several Images by https://www.vitalykuzmin.net/ url as indicated in the video. Very good indeed. On the other hand, I wonder... These leopards have been an issue in Spain for a long while. Kind of taking space if you know what I mean. Some where "placed" to some emirate a while back, yet there is, as far as I know, a constant discussion on what to do with them. So, not wanting to be too cynical but maybe a couple of people in Spain got a bulb going and found a win win. Which makes your point of the state of them perhaps the most relevant one. Aside of "getting them going" which likely would be done in Spain, it is questionable the spare socks for them... And the refit time. Which would be several months, which would negate the opportunity to train on them. A little bit of speculation on my part but I'd put some money on it. Also, as you mention, logistics on the field is a huge issue. Those vehicles need more of a crane than other designs too. At any rate combat readiness might be rather low under the circumstances. And on top of that, just hope the refit wouldn't be done on the cheap

Re: the cons. If they are smart, they would use these tanks in the west to free up more familiar tanks in the east. Or the German tanks could be used as a reserve.
