Why the Black Sea is vital for Ukraine's Survival

The Black Sea is essential for Ukraine's economy and thus for the survival of Ukraine. In this video the Naval Historian Marcus Faulkner will discuss the importance of the Black Sea for Ukraine, but also for Russia. Additionally, he will cover the Geography and History of the Black Sea and various key elements like the importance of Odessa. Cover idea by Flo. Good Video. Russia's failure to achieve uncontested control of the airspace over the black sea, and suppress Ukraine's growing coastal defence capability, make the chances of amphibious action (larger than a raid) in the NW Black sea much less likely. I'm interested to see if/how Russia can supply their garrison on Serpent Island, now that the Harpoon CDCM system, donated by Denmark is operational, and augmenting their Neptune missile system.

Will there be a follow up on the operations known so far, comparison of force, strategic objectives etc.? I have a dumb question here: why can't the Russian Black Sea Fleet blockade Ukrainian ports? Is it due to international political pressure or a lack of capability (or both)? I feel a bit lost with regard to the Black Sea, while its overall strategic implication could be pretty large

yeah, it just went into early access :) the title is about Snake Island, since that is covered as well, but there is a basic overview. They blockade the ports, but with a certain stand-off distance, also discussed in the video (the new one in early access).
