I have Kaigun and read it a number of years ago. I think it demonstrates that the Japanese Navy's planning for a War with the U.S. bordered on magical thinking.

What is the limit for comments? I was going to add:Robert Leckie (In Strong Men Armed) states that Yamamoto claimed he was accept the U.S.'s surrender on the White House Steps. But I think he really said was the only way to defeat the U.S. was to dictate the terms of surrender on the White House Steps.

I don't mean to imply that the Japanese Navy was incompetent or their ships inferior and the Long Lance was a terrific weapon but just that in terms of production that Japan had no chance to win. Watch the endings of Japanese films where the ending credit shows a sword slicing through the barrel of a machne gun.

I have enjoyed what I have watched on your site. I would like to see you address the question about how the electric boats could have influenced the war -- if they had gone into service by early 1944. The Germans were ahead of the allies in many areas of technology but they had too many secret projects.

Military History Visualized

will be addressed at some point, currently I post-poned a video on submarine & wolfpack tactics like several times. Yet, about half the script is ready, but for June all topics are set. Not sure if it will happen before 2019, but I might have a nice chapter and also an interesting article on it. So, it could be rather straightforward.
