This piece is the final research project developed for a Postgraduate sociology course called "Capitalism, Desire and Ideology". It is not a hypnosis piece, however it is something I am incredibly proud. Much of the tack I take in this piece and my ethos around this subject is inspired directly(and then goes on to re-inspire) by my work in the abyss and hypnosis.I see a lot of the transformative energy of the abyss and its focus on appearance and freedom as an inherently political, spiritual and cultural project.

This essay is a little technical if you have no background in sociology or social theory. But one comment I have gotten is that the style is still incredibly approachable and I do enough explanation of required terms within it to be understood. If you're interested in what my Non-hypno style of writing is like, this is a good showing.

Some content warnings for this piece: Discussion of Alt-right terrorism, Neonazi imagery, the current fascist wave, marxism, communism, looksmaxxing, Clavicular, Hasan Piker, etc etc.

I hope those of you who do listen enjoy it, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on the piece.

I've listened through this once and am listening thru again for comprehension, but I'm truly blown away, my man. This is a *powerful* essay, well-composed, with compelling arguments throughout. You have every right to be proud of it - you've got this leftist enby eyeballing looksmaxxing as a revolutionary act!

Very interesting. Despite hypno never being a big kink of mine, I've always been compelled by how your works emphasize the transformative power of aesthetics, not just to oneself but others, and seeing it laid out like this really cements why in my mind. I don't want to give much more commentary since I feel undereducated on this subject (I need to read more!), but here's another person you've impacted with your aura. Looking forward to how your works and ideas continue to evolve.

This was interesting. I enjoyed you tying political philosophy and aesthetics to current internet meme culture. Journalism often misses the connection and is then blindsided when groups who’ve been radicalized online suddenly appear on the public square. Also, I read instead of watch news to avoid being manipulated in this way, so I was surprised to learn that Hassan Piker has thighs like a classical statue of Zeus. I checked. Aesthetics and successful political philosophy do walk hand and hand but sometimes in surprising ways. Take Abe Lincoln for example. He was the homeliest and most lanky man to ever rise to the office of President. He leaned into the aesthetic with his stove top hat to make himself taller, and adding a beard to see more like a woodsman from a log cabin. He was physically strong. He told folk stories and jokes to appear dumber and more common than he was. The people loved it. Jimmy Carter, a nuclear engineer who graduated from the Naval Academy, ran as a common peanut farmer to defeat the Imperial Presidency. The most successful ones find something true about themselves that resonates with the zeitgeist and exaggerate it. Sometimes the effort backfires them to success. Example here is George W. Bush. He ran as a Texas rancher, but didn’t even own a ranch until he ran for President. He was so worried about being seen for what he was —that he didn’t realize it was his strength. He was an entitled East Coast Frat boy. He was a legacy at Eaton and Yale. He didn’t play football for Yale like Ford at Michigan. He was a cheerleader. No one bought the ruse except for the liberal press. They frequently tried to attack him as if he was a dumb redneck. That only excited his base and pushed rednecks to like him. But thanks to Rush Limbaugh much of the Republican base at that time was Frat Boys. So also was his opponent, Al Gore. They were two sides of the same coin aesthetically. My point being, intentionally finding and exploiting the right aesthetic at the right time is challenging. It might seem that a man who actually looks like the Alt Right Atheistic could do it, but it might turn out to be a Drag Queen running on family values who does it instead. That sounds crazy, but Ronald Reagan was a divorced Hollywood star and former union leader when he was elected as the standard for conservative policies and Christian family values. Frank Sinatra sang at his inaugural ball. What is Trump if he’s not a drag queen? In order to win, the left needs someone who sticks out noticeably —but also represents some aspect of American culture that resonates with a majority of people.
