TEMPEST: HULLO! We're back with another exclusive watchalong episode of Worst Match Ever this time watching the all time terrible World title match between Triple H and Scott Steiner from Royal Rumble 2003! Enjoy!

Comments

Meaty Patte

Please can you watch one warrior nation vs eddy Steinblock it’s truly amazing how awful it is . Plus it’s on YouTube for free .

Phillip Goad

I'm of the opinion, that in the era of multiple world champions in WWE, there has never been a greater gulf in match quality between the two than Rumble 03.

Keith Corrigan

The Reign of Terror, I knew ye had to get to this point at some stage, so bad

JoeIdea

There's a Whole botchamania called steinermania (at least 2 in fact) which are mostly his bat shit crazy promos. One which makes me laugh is "throughout my career, I've wrestled a lot of countries" as well as the best promo of all time, Steiner maths!

flyboy972

I wonder if it was the switch to the heavier WWE schedule that affected Flair so heavily?

Geek Of Arabia

I had never seen this match, and had only very recently watched the Benoit vs Angle match, and the difference of quality has never been more self evident.

Rob Wade

If you're looking for other matches to watch, I recommend Mr T vs Kevin Sullivan from Starrcade 1994. It's hilariously bad and it's only about 5 minutes

CoupDQ9race

Now that I've finished watching this, I'm going to watch Dynamite, which starts with Ospreay and Omega. Hopefully they won't be of similar quality.

Coral of Bread

Wife and I just watched the WT crew the whole time… realizing that’s how boring the match actually is :)

Steiner is coming off a foot injury in this match; and yet I feel like, if Omega and Osprey each took out a 9mm and shot each other in the foot, they'd still manage to have a better match because at least their match would have a plot.

Edward Economous

Tempest used the phrase they are wrestling under water. Tempest has the best words ever🙂🙂🙂🙂

Edward Economous

Also it's worth noting that apparently Steiner was wrestling with a broken foot which might explain the bad pacing

I watched this match in about 2011 without knowing that context. Doesn't make watching this match any easier though

Kenny/Ospreay would work AROUND the legit injuries and integrate them into the match. Not "pretend it's not there because no one will notice."

Mr. Samuel Scratch

Oh, I have to disagree with Luke: as an American teenager, this blind jingoism pushed me away from wrestling with a quickness. Well that and crap matches like this. Do you think Trips spoke at Lemmy's funeral because they traded excuses about how the iron cross isn't a symbol of evil?

Edward Economous

Nah it doesn't tbh. I watched this match for like the first time in like 2011. And this was before the Network too so i had to download this PPV. I had no context of Scott being injured either. It's just a boring match. And it has a DQ finish to boot which became all too common of a finish for WWE in later years. Add to the fact that Trips is a better booker than a wrestler imo

As a Belgian, THANK YOU SULLIVAN! JUSTICE God bless you good sir. F*ck French fries.

Daddy Scarecrow

Just one guys opinion, but I think the Patreon episodes of Worst Match Ever should be it's own ranking and not apart of the rankings for the Youtube ones. As not everyone who watches on Youtube is apart of the Patreon. Therefore they'd possibly think that they'd missed episodes when they see Miz/Cena and Steiner/HHH on the ranking, or they'd complain about them being behind the paywall. Just my opinion that this should be it's own series of Worst Match Ever.

James Paine

12:05 had me openly yelling "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?" This is the first time I’ve actually watched this match in full. Bloody hell…..

I tend to agree, but there's also the "missing out factor". Seeing those matches (and I think they do usually point out the Patreon-only ones) might motivate people to join. It lately sounds like money from YouTube has dried up a LOT. Without Patreon, they probably would fold. Makes sense they need to push it!

Peter Siddorn

So so bad - Also to answer Tempest question about the jersey he was wearing a New England Patriots home jersey

Micah Newby

I can see it from both sides, but I'm already here and not going anywhere so shrug-emoji 🤣 Another thing I've long thought they (and others for that matter) should do is dedicate their Shorts Channel to being teaser clips of the Patreon content as a way to drive fomo

mike wolfe

Wrestling a terrible NWA style match in front of Flair is shameful.

Elmeri

A whole season could be just HHH matches. HHH vs Roman Reigns anytime soon?

Micah Newby

Hilariously I unironically love Evanescence because of their presence in multiple memories of a no longer with me best friend. You have made me go seek a video package that I never otherwise would have

Ruutti
>>162384291

If I remember correctly, he didnt have a broken foot, he had drop foot syndrome from nerve damage, and had his ankle taped in place.

Ruutti

Why does Scott have a pink thong?

Brody Allsep

Welp. Excluding what we have already watched, and the one we won't watch for sad reasons, on 27 more WON Worst Match of the Year "winners" to go!

Charles Mitchell

Why doesn't Earl just throw Flair out when he gets involved several times in front of him? This isnt the worse thing I've ever seen though. Triple H isn't the in ring technician that warrants all of his matches to be 20+ minutes and I think just about all of his matches that aren't random episodes of Raw or Smackdown are. Especially with this match if you knock off 5 minutes. It's passable at best with a 3/5 but as it stands a 2/5

Mr. Samuel Scratch

As an American who was a teenager during the "freedom fries" debacle, I have a hard time accepting people who say things have "gotten more stupid over the last decade" in politics.
