So Luke and I really like a podcast called The Rest is Entertainment. It's where Richard Osman and Marina Hyde go through three big stories from the entertainment industry each episode, so we thought... let's try that for wrestling!

It's a bit dated, because we recorded it last Wednesday and, you know, a few quite large wrestling things have taken place since, but give it a listen and let us know what you think.

Benji

Hasnt even watched a minute and I can already say I adore this concept!

Malcolm Burgess

This notification just made the meeting I’m in that much more bearable.

Tommy overkill

I LOVE the rest is entertainment! If this pans out the way I think it is, this could be a really great addition to the channel. I’m here for it 👍 Edit: Just finished it. Awesome, liked ideas flying around about what the rock and his rubicube video meant in the terms of the direction of pro wrestling as a hole.

AMZ2

Haven’t finished the video yet, but I’m a big fan of this potentially weekly format, reminds me of old Friday “Blackpool Content Club” episodes which I always found amazing because it’s a chance to hear an extensive view of big wrestling stories from people who I genuinely would like to hear the opinions of. Much love and hope you take this into consideration ❤️

Dave Donaldson

I like the format. Probably needs to be released as quick as possible after recording to stop it being dated. Maybe record thursday release friday?

Joe Green

Thoroughly enjoyed this lads, watched it while eating some corn on the (Jeff) Cobb but had to put down my rubic's cube to give my full attention

SpacePotato1

Well, that style of podcast is amazing. I really love it if it's like a weekly thing like 3 "big" topic each week. Fun fact. I still haven't managed to solve my rubix cube. I always buy one ever so often and I lose them. :/ I hope Luke and Oli can solve one?

Jordan Chambers

I like this format! Would love to see it on the channel

Benji

Love the reccs at the end. Yea this is awesome! Would love to see these at the beginning of months to recap the three biggest, or the most unattended, stories from the last month!

Jamie Fisher

Love the idea - the rest is entertainment is awesome so I'm fully on board for the wrest is wrestling

wayne Garbutt

Throughly enjoyed but kinda lost you when you got so complicated like a rubiik cube

Jamaal Ellison

I think you're the only online guys who dislike the miz.

Aron

Loved this format. Keep it coming!

ATallstalls

Absolutely love the concept of this show hope it continues

Liam Francois

Love this style of podcast, I honestly wish it was longer! But i digress. I thought the return of Rusev could be an interesting topic of discussion? His potential portrayal without Lana (who’s signed a Legend’s contract), and what I felt was quite a lack of direction for him. I found it all rather puzzling, like a Jigsaw or a Rubicube. I appreciate all of the recent podcasts, your discussion about 2000s popculture is why I continue to pledge. :)

Nate

I’d personally like to see the rock try to solve the rubics cube

Matt Eager

i like the format a ton! Giving a spotlight to more niche wrestling news! Similar to Steve and Larson’s weekly non-news episodes, but with the fun Wrestletalk charm you guys give it! Here’s hoping Steve and/or Larson doing making a social post with a Rubics Cube

Jacob Smith

Loving this new format, enjoy the Rest is Entertainment and getting a Luke + Oli version is like unexpectedly solving a side on your Rubicsube - simple, but satisfying.

james knight

I agree with the point on the difference on how aew acts and how WWE acts is viewed but I think allot of this is because when it started TK was very clear on the fact they WOULD NOT do these things because they were 'better' than WWE so they put themselves on a higher level of behaviour so they are being held to that level

Asbjørn Fallesen

Also loved Last Murder at the End of the World. Check out his other stuff too - it's really good. Devil and the Dark Water doesn't land 100 %, but The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is wild.

Brxdley.h

amazing! love this format!

wordlifefan9

I really would love more of these as long as it doesn’t burn you guys out with all the content you already do. I honestly could listen to you guys talk shop about whatever for hours 👍👍

Hannah

My thoughts on the what do you do with someone who is leaving but not left: there is no good answer, if you carry on booking them you are loosing tv time you could use to build someone who is staying, if you use them to put someone else over on the way out the internet will just say they are being buried on the way out (especially to if newer talent is booked to squash them)

Yusuf S

i do wish this was on youtube, i dont tend to open patreon to watch videos

Benjamin

I think WWE will buy NJPW and they are doing it because they have too much talent, but they don't want to reduce their talent base. So having spots like AAA, NJPW, TNA they can send people to get experience, while not letting them go to AEW, means that WWE controls the industry and has a funnel to any talent that gets over anywhere. You can't book everyone in WWE main roster, they need other spots to wrestle when you're developing/acquiring so many talents

Happybandit

This was fantastic. It's great to hear your thoughts and opinions on news items not directly related to what's happening on TV. It's like listening to an auditory RubiCube. Looking forward to more.

Blossom

Love this format, especially as I’m a big fan of the “rest is” podcasts Also does it count if I listened to this podcast whilst practicing my rubik cube

Jake Miskelly

I remembered the Rubicube advertisement from my childhood. Some people say it's the last thing Sinbad ever did. Great podcast. I think Cobb shows up on Smackdown with Black

Tom Ford

It was Rubiks Magic in my school. Turns out we backed the proverbial WCW. Magic has been dropped by the World Cube Association, I assume because it was bought out by Ribicube and their concerning owner. Anyway, enjoyed the Pod, its not just fun listening to you two but a great way of bringing up stories that don't fit well into the traditional 10 minute news bite

Isaac hansel

I don’t think njpw benefit from having a deal with any major promotion in North America. I think they would benefit way more with a smaller promotion like TNA or even partnerships with all of the major independents around the world. Have a deal with defy, have a deal with progress, have a deal with revpro would they all work together kindly. Probably the fuck not but hey njpw needs to be like the rock and play 4d Rubik’s cube

Hok

Anything that’s gives me more Luke and Oli content I’m here for. I’d just woken up at 6am saw the email, was doing my morning ribicube to get my brain working, it’s now in pieces on the floor, from me excitedly throwing it when I saw this

Kevin Fleuriot

My dad has always told me he was great at solving Rubicube, but he never solved one in front of me.

Durpinator

Some of this is a Rubicube of possibility, was Johnson’s shirt a call out for new Japan defectors, or is he just a fan that wears what he likes and cares about brain training… or maybe he was reminiscing about his younger years when no one really knew him. Find the answers, solve the cube, pass go, collect 200, and the universe is yours.

TheKing101

I love seeing you guys try new things

Amomantra94

As a big fan of The Rest Is Football with Gary Lineker, Micah Richards and Alan Shearer, this is a great idea for a new series of podcasts!

Sean Brown

Really Really enjoy just listening to you guys chat about everything, makes me miss wrestletalk after dark but this new series is class (joe hendry did make you guys look like fools though)

Amomantra94

I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever solved a Rubicube.

Lily Petal

I enjoyed this! Would appreciate this becoming a thing.

Jason Smallenburg

I enjoyed the podcast almost as much as I enjoyed playing with my rubicube as a child.

mike wolfe

Nothing quite as satisfying as solving your RubiCube while enjoying some Jeff corn on the cobb...which um...sounds like something else entirely although equally impressive.

Tre Chestang

i enjoyed this , maybe the new Friday pod?

Carlos arcos

Currently watching this on my phone while smoking the Penjamin! I didn’t really know about the new Japan and joe hendry. I keep up with wrestling news through the wrestle talk news video 😂 if u y’all don’t mentioned it i don’t know about it, well most of the time but hopefully y’all do this more often .

Iain Wilson

Love the new pod style, Oli makes for a great Marina Hyde

Alan

Just watched this while trying to solve a RubiCube, no chance with all the laughter. Loved it!

Abhi Gudimella

Love this! I used to love the Luke friday shows with Denise or the shows with Pete and Tempest that lasted a short while and this brings that back

BigRed04

I prefer you both in the same shot instead of split screen

BigRed04

I got jeff corn on the cob last night while staring confusingly at my Rubicube without stickers

Alpha Panda

Loved this as much as a Rubics cube (which is a lot) I think this would be a brilliant addition! With so much wrestling content to get through each week, I really love the idea of you guys highlighting the big three things that happened, along with your own takes and opinions. If I don’t have time to watch everything, it’s great to know I could listen to the pod and still catch the most interesting stuff. One thing I’d love to see in the recommendations section is some wrestling-specific picks—like a standout match from the week, or maybe a documentary you’ve found on YouTube? That kind of stuff would be right up my street. Also, would you ever consider doing a Q&A episode? I’ve been back into wrestling for about three years now, and there’s still so much I don’t know. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels a bit lost sometimes but pretends they’re keeping up! A Q&A could be a fun way to help newer fans get a better grip on things.

Curtis Lowe

This was such a fun watch — had that perfect mix of colour and complexity, just like a Rubic's Kube! Would love to see more stuff like this in the future!

Stew Sizer

This was a fun podcast.

Milksword

Really like the concept and this was very fun to listen to. You guys rambling is always great lol

BalorFigs UK

Olis joe hendry not appearing at wrestlemania aged very well

Figby

I like it, if you can get these out same day then I'd love to see more of this show :-)

Dashing Dan

Great episode love this format. As a massive NJPW fan I would say why there is a lack of top stars at the moment, the war dog guys could really be next with gabe and Finley having proven great matches this year in multiple spots on the card. A rubicube level of possibilities

Mark Roberts

More like this please chaps, loved this fornat

Thomas Radcliffe

It’s so funny that the last time I completed a rubics cube Dwayne was champ

Iain McOmish

Also a big fan of TRiE so I loved this as a concept and really enjoyed the show. More fun than playing with a Rubic's Kube. More of this, please!

Good Evening Gamers

Know obviously it was recorded pre WM but: Oli: The closest Joe Hendry will get is Stand and Deliver The following night: Eats 2 RKOs and gets put over by a legend in the business

Mr. Samuel Scratch

I really enjoyed this! It feels like, since the Patreon has taken off a bit, there's been more of your all's personalities in the daily news videos, but this feels like some proper "editorializing." Oli pointing out the double-standard that AEW seems to have to be held to, for the crime of NOT ruining North American Pro-Wrestling with a 15 year monopoly, has been infuriating and it's nice to see someone in the news point it out.

Gavin Leonard

Even if it's dated I still like hearing your more in depth takes on these topics. Would love to see more.

FKA Shrockmaster

I would love for this to continue. It feels like it could be a Last Week Tonight type show but wrestling.

TEi HasPants

The only thing I find more complex than a Rubicscube is a slider puzzle.

Ben Sher

Keep this going!

Ritchie R

I really enjoyed the new format but I do want to know what the rock was doing with that rubics cube

Joseph Krusoczky

Love this type of show! It’s like the old Friday Magazine shows you used to do; I miss that.

Mani Umaria

Both of you definitely excel when you discuss the more over arching themes of a topic, whether it be wrestling or movies!

FKA Shrockmaster

I'm excited for the new show but I hope the AEW review comes back.

Johnny Stemple

Really enjoy this style of video but I wish it didn't come at the expense of my favorite weekly video

Morgan Leggett

Talking about NJPW talent, you completely miss Gabe Kidd who is absolutely the next big thing.
