Colt Durham

Maybe the most anticlimactic reveal ever. Wish they revealed this Week 1.

Jemmz

Well if they wanted mega heat, Gunther’s got it.. That reveal though. I almost wish it had been drawn out to become Jericho next year.

Dylan Campbell

Hey lads , as a 2006 kid, cena was my guy. as much as the finish made me sad I thought it was the right choice. After that opening promo ,the heat the reaction from the locker room the aura of gunther I now KNOW it was the right choice. Also the masked man was Austin, meh ok . overall good show. since it’s the last chattable podcast i just want to say thanks for all the amazing content this year from a top 0.1% YouTube viewer cutscene and wrestltalk partition subscriber all the content get me through the year, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Dukect

I like how Grayson Waller who is objectively better than austin theory in most ways but he's stuck in the low card tag team failures that is the new day and austin theory gets another run in a top villain faction

Vault-Tec Doormamu

Austin Theory has now joined the Luke Owen and Kyle Fletcher club of welcoming the baldness. Jokes aside, with Heyman making it clear he doesn’t know it was theory all this time, this raises the question, Is theory actually with the Vision? Is he acting as Seth’s mole on the inside? Does he want to take it down himself?

Wheels

Do you think they did the masked man reveal tonight so everyone would stop speculating and it wouldn’t be disappointing when it wasn’t Jericho

Edward Economous

Hey guys happy birthday Luke. I just rewatched Cody Cena from Mania and nothing happens in it really and the ending was rushed. Has your thoughts changed? Merry Xmas🙂🙂

Tom Shucksmith

One of the biggest Cena marks you will meet, and despite being so down about Saturday, especially the result, despite understanding their logic. The minute Gunter did the ‘You Can’t See Me’ to Styles, I verbally said to my TV, ‘Fair enough, that was absolutely hilarious.’

David Daul

Another very meh week, outside of a good Punk promo and Gunther cracking himself up by doing the You Can't See Me taunt...it was very skippable. Hope you guys have a great and fun holiday!

Ryan Lahiff

Merry Christmas blokes, thanks for everything in 2025! In a year of disappointments which wrestler, men or women, has been the biggest disappointment - for me it's been a number of the women - Stephanie Vaquer reduced to a one dimensional character, Tiffany Stratton gets her teeth knocked out and then disappears, Giulia reduced to at this stage I'm not really sure....

Godzilladreamer

Even though Theory was a very safe pick for the masked man, i think he got a better reaction in the building and online than I expected. Seeing people might not be completely silent towards Austin Theory actually makes me want to give this angle a chance.

Ben Lowry

Hey lads. I thought Raw was okay. Terrific Gunther promo and I also loved Punk's promo and the Usos New Day match. After watching the Gunther promo, it was absolutely the right choice for him to be the one to retire Cena. Even though I grew up in the Cena era and started watching as a 9 year old in 2009 I never understood the Cena appeal, which is rare for a kid during that era I'm now just discovering and so for me the retirement match was more about Gunther then Cena. Enjoy your Christmas break boys, love from Australia

Jonathan “The Headmaster” Hedman

Happy Birthday Pete, I mean Luke. I noticed on Gunther’s car as he drove away the license plate had a QR code on it in place of an expiration date. When I went to it what did I see but a link to a free subscription to SurfShark.

BadTax

Not a great look for the Women’s championship to be a mid-card match but even worse that it was yet another DQ finish. The theory reveal should’ve happened after war games since we all knew who’s bum that was

Brandon

pretty good Raw overall. Gunther was fucking amazing, the uso/new day tag reminded me why we liked Jey, the Rhiyo/kabuki warriors feud is back on track now that the war-games filler arc is over, Maxxine/Ivy was good despite a DEAD crowd, excellent punk promo and a great match between Steph and Raquel until it got ruined by a person who guess is on the main roster. only problem is the main event, I could not give a shit about this masked man storyline or that its Austin theory. the fact that he's not working with the vision (though bron did nod at him) is kinda interesting but unless a new masked man gets unveiled next week I am just checked out of the non-bron vision stuff

Joseph Machado

I couldn't imagine a more fitting visual for the current state of WWE storytelling than a long winded masked man reveal that reveals Theory as the least interesting person involved with the Vision behind Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, an injured Seth Rollins, that time Montez Ford played the part of the Masked man to throw everyone off, whoever owned the car LA got Tsunami'd into, and clearly Theory's barber because that cut and beard is just.....yikes.

Jacob Wray

Watched nothing but the gunther promo, came here to say Austin Theory looks like Daniel Garcia , i hope he starts wearing similar shorts

Dylan Travers

Hey guys, happy birthday Luke! I thought Punk had a great promo, and clearly they want to build the Bron Breaker feud. If Seth ends up back before Mania, do you think that will change the direction they’re going with Punk and Bron? Thanks!

Lerm

I’d like to preface this by thanking John Cena for teaching me to give up. I was/am so angry about the finish to his final match that I decided to skip Raw tonight and instead go to the hospital to take care of a massive wound on my leg, instead I just read a recap online and after the reveal of the masked man, yeah I’m glad I skipped the show. HOWEVER something strange did happen to me, the wrist band that they gave me at the hospital had 3 QR codes on it the first one took me to a secure site with my personal information on it to make sure everything was correct in their system. The second on had my hospital visit info on it (why I was there, what they did, and what medications were prescribed) and the third one brought me to this podcast. I can’t believe you guys were able to get one of the biggest hospital networks in the United States to advertise your podcast. Fantastic work all around

DennyDorko

I am glad they waited a few weeks to reveal The Masked Man to build up the mystique so whoever it was revealed to be got the rub from a well-executed gimmick. I think if they'd revealed it the night after Survivor Series, everyone would have just been "so what?" But now I think the reaction is "Wait...you mean Austin Theory can be cool?"

Rerun3k

Hope you had an amazing birthday Luke!

Roy Wickiser

#1)If they play their cards right, they'll get one of the loudest crowd pops ever the next time Gunther loses. #2) Happy Birthday Luke. I hope it was everything you wanted it to be. Take care and stay awesome everyone.

Henry Riley-Edwards

I know the plan for wrestlemania is probably Roman vs Cody 3 but Gunther vs a Cody Rhodes trying to avenge Cena’s legacy is 1000% the match they should make. If they leave Gunther away from the title for too long it will feel like the tap out wasn’t worth it and looking at fan reaction Triple H can’t afford to only use the heat for a Lesnar feud.

Lorenzo Haynes

Based off how the rest of this year has gone I think it’s safe to say Jey Uso should NOT have tapped out Gunther at Wrestlemania… he could’ve still won, but what did the tap out do for either guy? If anything it just hurt Gunther because he STILL gets “you tapped out” chats . Compare that tap out loss to all of John Moxley‘s tap out losses…. Night and Day

Clueless

Hello lads and happy belated birthday to Luke. WWE needs to capitalize on this Gunther heat and have him win the championship from Cody at Mania. It has been far too long since we had a monster heel world champion that wins matches without constant interference and Gunther is the perfect guy to take that role and flourish in it. Maybe a hot take, but I would love to see him win the rumble, last eliminating Sami maybe. Would love to hear what you lads have to think, best wishes

Brent

I thought of this last week where Logan Paul being part of the Vision is really an attempt by HHH to one up AEW. One of the suddenly dropped storylines in AEW was MJF and the Hurt Syndicate. I just imagine HHH looking at X and seeing what the competition are failing to do and saw this and thought "I can easily do this better." So far, HHH didn't do his glacial storytelling of Logan trying to join the Vision for weeks and months and just easily allow Logan to join the Vision. I'm just waiting for Logan to overstep his role in the Vision and the Brons have enough of him to kick him out but somehow Logan will still be the heel.

Chris deaton

I’ve worked at this pizza restaurant for almost 5 years now and always just assumed that the QR codes on our dining tables were a link to our online menu due to Covid. Turns out it’s a link to this podcast. Why hasn’t anyone mentioned this before?

Hok

So Gunther got sent home for being too badass making Cena tap like a bitch. What logic is that?? Also Austin theory reveal went as well as a fart in church

Sedin Magic15

Is it just me or was that the most anticlimactic reveal for the masked man they could have done? I'm not buying it, I think there's more than one masked man. For me, this week's raw is 67%. Also, happy belated birthday Luke! I hope you had an amazing day!

SirFoop

I recently went to the Cirque Du Solei show Kurios. When the show began i could've sworn i recognized one of the actors there. So i googled it and it turns out Mason Ryan works there! After the show i managed to find him because i wanted to know how he went to from Professional Wrestling to working at Cirque Du Solei. All he did, was give me a little business card with a QR CODE ON IT! SENDING ME TO THIS PODCAST! THIS IS REAL, NOTHING IS MADR UP

Jack McEwen-Quy

I was doom scrolling X when I saw Paul Levesque post saying that tonight is the beginning of a new era. Immediately I grabbed some popcorn and clicked on the comments but instead or a bunch of hate and memes all I saw was a QR code which when I clicked on it lead me to this Podcast. Are you guys part of the new era?

Peter Siddorn

So WWE follow up to Gunther tapping out Cena is a match with Otis? Yeah WWE is in just coast mode for the end of December period.

Real One's Georgie Tuffs

Regarding SNME, ultimate Heel trips congratulated the fans for paying more money than any fans had before at that stadium or SNME. Of course the fans turned on him. You literally told us it was full of die hard Cena fans paying top bucks to be their.l Trips didn't think maybe the fans willing to pay thousands of dollars a ticket to see their hero would be mad when Cena lost! Don't care, with the mad retirement run the company's going down in 2026 I'll be waiting for 2027 to watch WWE again, if Femi gets a call up fingers crossed

JJ Bittenbinder

I simply don't trust WWE/HHH to follow through on Gunter. Tapping out John Cena is a MASSIVE feat, you better make damn sure you captalize, except...look at Cena's heel turn, New Days heel turn, Seth Rollins underwhelming Vision, etc. Past year or so has been full of mayor fumbles, ideas/moments full of potential only leading to pure mediocrity. I know, wait & see, still, with the current track record, I'm just being a pessimistic & fearing another inevitable fumble.

JTNL

Is it just me that thinks it makes zero sense that people are treating Gunther like he did something wrong? I get the reaction of the fans but other wrestlers acting like Gunther did something wrong is weird to me. He didn't cheat, he just won.

Jake Miller

Finding out what we all knew that Austin Theory was the masked man was about as underwhelming as finding out the detective's Mom was the co-conspirator with Longlegs in Longlegs.

Marc Joosten

Luke what are the odds and how did I not know that you have the same birthday as a certain ex Wrestletalk employee whose name rhymes with Yeet? Oh and hope it was good and whatnot cuz well it'd be impolite to not say this part

Sid Harrison

Decent episode with some good wrestling and better promos. Loved punk finally referencing Logan’s past and Gunther’s was short and sweet similar to the ‘this is my yard now’ promo but like… good. If they had revealed the Austin Theory masked man stuff any later it would’ve felt way more underwhelming than it did with that awful crowd. ps. If you didn’t see wwe posted a cinematic mcintyre home invasion by Cody.

Homerstar

As someone who has been very critical of WWE’s booking this year. I thought Cena’s retirement match was great. That final stretch of Cena breaking out of the sleeper, only for Gunther to lock it back in was absolutely perfect. And Cena smiling, I read it as him realising that there’s nothing more he can do and almost being happy that someone managed to best him. I think people are just upset that Cena tapped and I hope in a few months people can look back objectively and realise that the match was really good.

Vic Cutting

I love cenas retirement match despite hating his overall run, but it made me wonder, what’s the best retirement run you guys have ever seen? Taking the whole run, so ric flairs whole “if you lose you retire” thing, not just the match

Vikrish-Ingi

I expected a bad show because of the time of year and got a good show. Solid matches. Dupri was brilliant I like the new persona . Nikki Bella needs to go though . Star of the show Gunther and Punk the promos . Breaker needs to be champ . Finally I assume something has happened with Jericho or bad news with rollins so they pivoted back to Theory. Ill give them a chance see where it goes but if hes back as a pin eater itll suck so bad. Also Finns absence was interesting or they could just be back in bray for Christmas.

Wayne Rogers

I was shook to my core that Austin Theory was the masked man, genuinely stunned rigid...said nobody ever. Also, I'm a little concerned at how nothing WWE booking has been recently, I have no interest in watching the full weekly shows now, I started watching AEW weekly a few months back and honestly it's night and day right now.

Snake

Personally I like Theory as the masked man, people wanted him doing something and now he can. Off topic I’m going to my first ever AEW show on Wednesday! The ticket prices compared to smackdown were too good to turn down. I usually keep up with aew through you guys but I genuinely think I’ll never be able to go to a live wwe tv taping again with the prices

Mathew Bacon

Hiya lads! Long time! Still a constant viewer of yours but work & cost of living is annoying! Anyways, for a spit second in my daze this morning I thought oh my gosh it’s Daniel Garcia! Then realised, yup, of course it’s Austin! I like it though & he looks great with the buzz cut! Thanks lads, keep making us smile!

Leandro Shimura Barea

Cena tapped because it is a long standing tradition of putting over new talent, you know, the same way Ric Flair put over that youngster Shawn Michaels on his (WWE) retiring match. Or like that old fella Shawn Michaels put over that plucky upcomer Undertaker. Stupid AEW, sending people happy, by giving Sting a victory on his retiring match! Sting's real retiring match should be that one, you know the one, when he put over that promising new wrestler, Triple H, who defeated not only Sting but also his well known cronies, the NWO...

Joseph Bertz

I was at the Raw/Smackdown double taping last night and we booed Gunther so loudly that I legitimately did not hear a word he said. Also, do you think they revealed the masked man because we figured it out so quickly? It seemed like they were going to build it up to be a major reveal at the first Raw of the new year. Thanks fellas!

Andrew Kibe

I was watching Cena's retirement match and noticed something odd when he tapped out. I watched it back and realized it was morse code. I put it into a translator and BOOM was taken to your podcast! Very clever to pay off cena to give up for your advertisement.

Rik Moran

Thought this was a decent episode of Raw. Simple segment with Gunther, an opportunity to show off his heel heat, and give us a little tease for AJ Styles. Excellent promo from CM Punk, and of course the Austin Theory reveal, no surprise, but hopefully we can see more of the Austin Theory from NXT's 'The Way' than what we have had on the main roster so far. Anyway, I've been told this was the first Raw to be broadcast in Japan, I've no idea if this is true, I just assumed WWE had been showing over there for years.

Rob Steedley

Thr knot on Raquel Rodriguez head. Is that a new member of the Judgement Day? Yikes. Also the Gunther heat is great

darth Jmarks

Just wanna point out Ollie was correct about Logan and punk. Logan eliminated punk from the rumble and punk eliminated him from the chamber. There was reports the plan was punk Logan at mania

BlackYakuzu94

I feel like Gunther SHOULD win the Rumble and go on to face Cody Rhodes, who has kind of been christened as Cena's successor. Anything else just feels beneath him tbgq.
