Hello darlings,

We're recording the Team DeNuke Mailbag show today - so get your questions in!

NOTE: We won't get to *every* question. Sorry about that. We record for an hour and try to answer as many as possible.

Something new for this month: if you like someone else's question and want to hear it answered, give it a LIKE. That way I can spot them easier if it's a popular train of thought.

And yes, I'll also release it as an audio podcast. Which I should have done from the start in all fairness.

Afternoon Team Denuke, I've got a question about AEW Dark and Dark Elevation. I've been watching AEW properly since around June and watch all four of their shows. However, other than the colour palette and commentary teams I barely notice any difference between Dark and Elevation. So my question for the mailbag is do you think they should be different to each other? And if so how can AEW make them stand out from each other.

Hello team denuke. There is something I've been asking myself for a while, between 2014 to the beginning of 2020 new japan has been arguably the best wrestling promotion on the planet (you can also argue the timeline but that's my opinion) with combination of amazing matches and just simple but smart long term storytelling. But it's also obvious that no big company suffered more from the pandemic plus the combination of bad decisions like Evil's title reign and the design of the new championship and bad luck like Osprey and Ibushi's injury the product isn't really what it used to be, it still definitely have some shining spots. My question is do you think it is the end of new japan being the state of art of wrestling or do you think it's just some kind of phase that Gedo or someone else could fix as we get used to the world? You might not have an answer but it is an interesting conversation to have. Stay good you guys! 😉

Hi guys, Have you ever mentioned wrestling to someone new, and they've remembered the oddest thing about wrestling? For example, I told someone that I watch wrestling, and he said "oh I only know of one wrestler". I asked if it was The Rock, HHH, etc.... He said it was Gail Kim. Hello team Denuke. As we all know, global warming is a threat to everybody. I try not to get too political but is there something, in your opinion, wrestling industry has to do to tackle this threat. For example: WWE and AEW are moving huge production teams from town to town. Could we see end of house shows and just focus on the TV products or stop using pyros. Thanks for the answer. Hey Denise. Long time listener, first time I've asked a question and forgive me it's a long one! It's Fantasy booking time! WWE vs AEW survivor series style Who wins the following? Kenny Omega vs either Roman or Bobby, you choose Miro vs i would say a wwe midcard champion but to make it more interesting let's say Big E Lucha Bros vs The Usos Britt Baker vs Becky/Charlotte Then book 2 5 vs 5 survivor series elimination matches, one for the mens and one for the women.

Hey guys, I'd like to ask about Jim Cornette, I recently met up with a friend who I haven't seen in years and I didn't realise but we're both big wrestling fans 🙂 now we got to talking about WWE and AEW etc and I was saying how I listen to Wrestletalk everyday, have done for about 6 years and he was saying he only listens to Jim Cornette, he'll only watch WWE and doesn't think much of AEW, now I've been trying to rack my brains as to why, as I like to think AEW are having a very positive effect on the wrestling world and have something for everyone, be it a big man match, legends, tag team wrestling, hardcore and even spot fests, or just amazing one on one matches and great stories. Whereas in my opinion WWE are lagging behind and driving they're audience away with they're "sports entertainment", repetitive matches, bad stories and not pushing new talent, now I don't know much about Cornette so I'd like you guys to let me know why my friend feels the way he does and is it to do with cornette? How does cornette feel about AEW and WWE and who exactly is he? As I don't really know, my guess is he maybe has an old school mentality and isn't moving along with the future of 2021 and beyond and wants to live in the past like Vince McMahon? I may be wrong though. Please help me understand guys 🙂 Thankyou 👍

Hey Team Denuke. Seeing Jeff Hardy in the 24/7 title chase reminded me of an idea I had to improve the championship. Do you think this would work? Essentially, combine the 24/7 concept with a championship scramble and the Gift of the Gods championship. Have it so that whoever holds the championship at midnight before a specific PPV (Money in the Bank probably?) gets to trade it in the next night for a shot at the US or Intercontinental championship. You could have a 24/7 season, a limited period of time where the title is active up until MITB or whenever. The title is then deactivated for most of the year so the comedy skits don't get worn out. It would also add intrigue, as some wrestlers might try to get it early and hold out, while others dip in at the end to try and steal a last minute victory, rotating people in and out of the story and keeping things fresh. Thoughts?

Hi Team Denuke. What are your thoughts on Triple h as a pure in ring wrestler. I respect him for his hardwork , but I really don't like his matches. He always has boring 20 to 30 minute matches. I think some of the best matches of his is because of the opponents. For example Daniel bryan,seth rollins,Steve austin. But remember the scott steiner match, the main event of wrestlemania with both jericho and randy. They were so boring. Your thoughts?.

Mine is when Austin interrupts the marriage of undertaker to Stephanie. The pop when he comes out, the subsequent “ass kicking” & the cherry on the cake is when Stephanie hugs him, he doesn’t hug her back and vince telling him “thank you” Wonderful!!!

I’ve been a wrestling fan for almost 20 years now since I was a kid, and I have had periods where I’ve nearly lost interest. CM Punk's debut was great, and the match with Darby was so good as well. Is it just me, or is his upcoming feud with Team Tazz not that exciting. There are so many matchups that are far more exciting than this without including the Elite. Sammy, Jungle Boy, Cassidy...etc. I just feel like Punk is in a mid-card fued now. Thoughts?

Are AEW using to much blood? I really like blood in matches, it makes them more serious and emotional. But in AEW the wrestlers are bleeding to often in my opinion. In matches, that aren't bloodfeuds, like Dustin Rhodes v. Nick Comoroto, or at spots where it's just not realistic to bleed, like from kicks, punches or slams.

I tried showing my gf some wrestling over the past few weeks but I've only been showing her AEW. She hasn't taken to it and she was really disinterested in All Out. Could it be that AEW is less welcoming to viewers who never watched wrestling before than WWE cause of all the backstory and nuances?

Hi Team DeNuke! Simple question: is it actually possible for MJF to go too far with his promos? He seems to get praise for garnering heat by talking about swallowing and aborting while max castor gets punished for mentioning similarly controversial topics. Is MJF getting a pass simply because he’s so damn good at being an awful human? Which other aew roster members could get away with the things he says?

Full Gear is on my Birthday and I really want to go but I need extra consideration for things because of my disability with travel. I tried to go to the Cincinnati show but no one from AEW saw my efforts to contact them. Any advice for me to help me get them to see my efforts this time?

Do you guys think that AEW should move to Monday nights? With an amazing roster that keeps getting bigger and more talented, clearly there isn’t enough space for everyone. I truly believe that even if they don’t outright beat RAW at first they can at least pull great numbers with the likes of Omega, Bryan, Cole, possibly Bray Wyatt and Kevin Ownes/Sami Zayn. They already won the Wednesday night wars, could they pull it off again on Monday Nights? What do you guys think?
