WT Extra | May 2023 Poll! (Patreon)

JENA: Hello Pledgehammers! Here are the options for this month's WrestleTalk Extra!

WCW WrestleWar 1992 (suggested by Rob James)

Destroy or be destroyed! One team will stand! One team will fall! In a match so brutal it can happen only once a year! This WCW throwback featuresWarGames! (Sting’s Squadron v. Dangerous Alliance), The Freebirds v. Terry Taylor and Greg Valentine, Brian Pillman v. Tom Zenk and The Steiner Brothers v. Takayuki Iizuka and Tatsumi Fujinami Tag team match to determine #1 contenders for the IWGP Tag Team Championship.

WWF In Your House 8: Beware of Dog 1996 (suggested by Will Stewart Jr.)

Lights Out! Quite literally as this PPV took place over two nights due to a power outage (but the network won’t tell you that). Other than the MANY dark matches, this card includes Shawn Michaels v. The British Bulldog, a Caribbean Strap match of Savio Vega v. Stone Cold, Vader v. Yokozuna and Goldust v. Undertaker.

WCW Slamboree 2000 (suggested by Austin Shrock)

“When you make a B-list actor your world champion, you know they're reaching the bottom of the barrel creatively.” And if that review doesn’t make you want to re-watch this show, the match card had Hulk Hogan v. Billy Kidman, Mike Awesome v. Chris Kanyon, and a Triple Cage Match of Jeff Jarrett v. DDP v. David Arquette.

WWF Insurrextion 2002 (suggested by Marcus A. Campbell)

The first-ever Raw-exclusive PPV! And a UK exclusive! Hailing from Wembley, matches included RVD v. Eddie Guerrero, The Hardy Boyz v. Brock Lesnar/Shawn Stasiak, William Regal v. Spike Dudley and Triple H v. Undertaker.

TNA Sacrifice 2009 (suggested by Justin Edelheit)

The "Ultimate Sacrifice" match, where each participant must risk something valuable. Big names Sting, Jeff Jarrett, Kurt Angle and Mick Foley were all in this match. Also on the card were matches of Samoa Joe v. Kevin Nash, AJ Styles v. Booker T and Beer Money Inc v. The British Invasion.

WWE Over the Limit 2011 (suggested by “He Ran” Aaron Hanrahan)

A “Kiss My Foot” match between Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler. Yup. That was a thing. Aside from that were matches of R-Truth v. Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton v. Christian, Big Show/Kane v. The New Nexus and John Cena v. The Miz.

WWE Extreme Rules 2014 (suggested by Garret Albright)

Back in the day when the Extreme Rules PPV had loads of stipulation matches. This extreme show includes an Extreme Rules match of Kane v. Daniel Bryan, a Steel Cage match of Bray Wyatt v. John Cena, a Triple threat elimination match of Cesaro v. RVD v. Jack Swagger and a six-man tag of The Shield v. Evolution.

WWE UK Championship Special 2017 (suggested by Simon Dormer)

The follow-up to the UK Championship tournament, this Network-exclusive event had matches of Wolfgang v. Joseph Connors, The Brian Kendrick/TJP v. Dan Moloney/Rich Swann, Pete Dunne v. Trent Seven and Tyler Bate v. Mark Andrews.
