I honestly couldn't believe how many times he got punched in the head and still refused to move a single inch. It was like Pantoja, except seemingly getting punched in the face specifically as a way of blocking them from hitting...his arms? The air? At least Pantoja tries not to get hit most of the time. Taira looked like he was just intentionally being punched over and over. Absolutely baffling.

If you rewatch the perez fight he had the same issue, he looks like he takes them well, but they still have an impact on his striking, he gets somewhat more timid, and at times it looks like he’s ready to got, gets hit twice and then resets, he looks like he genuinely doesn’t notice the punches coming and barely notice them hitting him, still if he could get better boxing and head movement and be more active with his striking he can become really good…

These new video breakdowns have already expanded my knowledge immeasurably. I could never picture what Slack was talking about in my head, or really even understand the stuff on FightPrimer. Seeing it in video is amazing. Maybe do some for just us boys if youtube is getting you down, Slack. Especially if you want to use content from UFC and upload the videos to a different hosting site.
