The Rise and Fall of Sean Strickland

I don't own any of this footage and this video isn't monetized. Be cool 0:00 - The iCarly Guard 1:18 - The Only Teep in MMA 2:37 - Handfighting to the Teep 5:02 - Getting Chinned by Pereira 7:15 - How Big Dricus Defused the Strickland Game

The audio was a bit crackly at the start jack, very good episode though

James

Sorry that guy on Reddit was mean to you.

Luke C.

Potentially another case of a MW having shit takedown defense that has just never been exposed because ~4 fighters over 170 can wrestle worth a damn

Right after this vid, YT rec'd Cormier vs Josh Barnett and it looks like Barnett's go-to guard when being pressured was... Stonewall guard? From both orthodox and southpaw? Even before Dustin made stonewall cool?! https://youtu.be/LY8UqDga6GY Starting at 13:04. Props to Cormier for the finger-in-glove snapdown too, both the ref and commentary didn't notice.

Strickland can grapple, or at least he used to. Did pretty well against Usman when they fought; I guess it’s been a while and he did have that motorcycle accident so who knows

Luke C.

Good shout I forgot about that fight, do you recall if he still stood so tall and narrow back then?

George Quinn

It was on my side not yours 😬

James Kendrick

people in the youtube comments genuinely angry with your thumbnail despite you explaining in the middle that its not really a rise and fall

Paul Folson

TBH I don’t remember; it was your typical Usman fight. Strickland stopped most of the takedowns and didn’t look helpless against him. In retrospect, he did a better job then Woodley or Masvidal

Paul Folson

I think that guy is probably mean to everyone, including his wife, kids, and dog……who am I kidding. That guy will never get married

Stefan Müller

@3:20 He did this double hand grab to the front kick with Imavov. I saw it at least once at the end of their second round.

Max Schoen

Mate that guy was insufferable
