The Ian Garry of this card is so weak it’s scary

J Damsel

The machado garry of if this is the future my weekends look hairy

Jacken Slackstein of punching holes in walls like war machine

Mats Aabel

I think I can speak for most Slacky fans when I say that our interest in combat sports extends way beyond just the UFC, and podcasts almost completely about other stuff going on (like a Monday podcast or boicast about Noiri, Anane, Superlek and Dam Paranchai) would be just as well received as any UFC focused pod

Ben Dover

The step dads surname is Cullen for anyone that still thinks Garry took the ex husband's name. Really telling when people see a healthy relationship between divorced co-parents and they find it unfathomable.

Harvey Dixon

The funniest outcome would be Ian winning, Islam retires, then Arman and Ilia never get to fight him and then Ian goes on a five fight win streak, and loses to Mike Malott

G

Very much agree!

Max

BIG MAC!! 👏👏 BIG MAC!! 👏👏

Max

Mr.Slack, when I make 2 billion dollars I’ll be sure to slide you 1.

Joey JoJoJoestar

I agree. I obviously can't speak for myself, but I listen to the podcast for Jack Slack and his wit and analysis, not for the promotions he covers. He could break down the worst fights in Street Beefs and I would still tune in. And honestly, that might be a better use of his time nowadays

Christopher Kowalchuk

Where are the heavy hands boys at? Did the UFC slop finally cause them to give up completely?

Steven

If I remember correctly, that cross check you described is how weidman broke Anderson Silva’s leg

Christopher Kowalchuk

I spent all night refreshing my podcast feed every five minutes hoping to see the new episode . . . haha. No, not really, but they usually upload Wednesdays (U.S. time). Oh well!

Stefan Müller

How has Charles Johnson been on every card since 2024?

Ip Dip Doo I Poo’d in your Shoe

I mean the reaction to Ian isn’t surprising when the wider mma community is almost entirely made up of lowest of the low pond scum

Paul Folson

Just wanted to point out that Islam can’t put on muscle at this advanced training age due to the tireless efforts of the man who tortured Saddam Hussein and the UFC not really anti-doping program (I’m pretty sure that’s what it’s legally called)

Abenxu

I would love to see more stuff covering striking in general, kickboxing and mauy thai especially

Ismael Ovalle

Ochoa vs Charles Johnson was a good one. I’m sad we lost that one

Tedd Welch

Oh yeah, no question. Dude can do a 70 minute podcast on the technical minutiae of some 13-8 kickboxer’s one cool move and I’m smoking a joint and tuning the fuck in. I’ve learned more about martial arts from his podcast than I did from competing in point karate.

Zwarte

Apparently Connor's house got hit by a tornado so no podcast this week 😔

BennyB

Absolutely, been thinking this for a while.

BennyB

Yea lot of interesting stuff happening in both sports nowadays. Which are way more interesting than ufc undercards imo

Luke Stenson

Just watched Garry-Prates back & what a performance. Flawless in the first 3 rounds on the feet. Found the kicking range early & dominated the lead hand. I don’t think Prates even got a jab off the first 15mins

Cantthinkofaname

It took me like 5 seconds to google that when that rumor first started going around.

You're_Pusheen_It

unfortunately nah silva broke his left leg against weidman's left knee/shin. weidman stands orthodox. silva tried an inside low kick on the kick that snapped his tib/fib most of weidman's other checks were slowly raising the lead knee to make sure the low kick would strike the knee, instead of the traditional check where you raise your leg so high they kick your shin instead

You're_Pusheen_It

spaced out except for the most important bits slacky: 1) billion dollar tier Patreon fuckin WHEN?! 2) updates on the sonorous wood pigeon??? on serious note, body lock uchimatas are really easy to do compared to traditional judogi uchimata - because: 1 - so much of the drill and execution is actually entering body-body contact to really force your opponent to move where you want them to 2 - gi uchimatas need far more finesse with the pushing and pulling hands. bodylock uchimatas force the opponent to follow wherever you're moving your body, no fancy "tsurite in this direction, hikite upwards and using your last 3 fingers stuck into the back collar of their gi yadda yadda" a technique that shows how body lock uchimatas are actually easy to do might be how buncha MMA guys can all seem to do the front uchimata when they get a bodylock on an opponent backed into the cage. just lift them up and over your raised thigh and they'll naturally tumble down
