JRE shout out on the Whittaker episode!!

Alex Olivares

"He keeps ramming it down their throats and edging out decisions." No other way to communicate this? No other choice of diction?

Francesco Carboni

About the main event, my short thoughts condensed in few points. Evloev has insane speed in his shot and scrambles, more so than anyone volk has ever fought without question, and his strength isn’t top control or takedowns, but killing scrambles and getting the better of people the longer the scramble goes and that could be tricky, because Volk really likes to wrestle and wrestle back into people and you should just do everything to disengage against Evloev instead of wrestling/scrambling back, people have had success giving up their backs near the cage and get up, but never had much success scrambling. Watching Volk fights with Lopes and islam, and evloev fights with Ige Lopes and Sterling, I have to say that volk looks significantly less athletic that he’s ever been, if you watch his fight with Ilia and his fight with Lopes and the Lopes rematch, you can see an insane dip in speed and strength in the clinch. And also, Evloev against guys that are a bit shorter and smaller than him looks like a killer compared to when he fights taller longer bigger guys, is striking his much better and works so well too, I’m picking Movsar because of those factors and age and also getting knocked out by Evloev would be the most depressing outcome possible and that’s what tends to happes usually 😂

Also a middle east card so you know Evloev had the best weight cut of his life.

J Damsel

How do you watch those cards?

Wasn't O'Malley the one who first hurt Merab to the body?

Mike

the dark side of drug testing is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural

Malik Reed

I think one of merabs biggest failings in the rematch was almost completely abandoning the low kicks against Yan when in the first one he had him compromised and made getting Yan to the cage and busy defending a lot easier as he had more threats to worry about

What the hell Japan

Mats Aabel

Slacky got a shout out at the Rob Whittaker JRE episode

Will

Merab shouting whenever Yan landed to the body was weird; he also rubbed his arm conspicuously after Yan elbowed the forearm from the back bodylock. It's like Merab wants to communicate to the viewers that he's in pain. Very strange guy, that Merab, lol

Christopher Kowalchuk

He tickled his belly with his toes with one minute to go in the fight.

"It's just the one more marketable fighter, actually"

anthony storer

I absolutely loved the analogy between diction in poetry and all of the different varieties of fighting techniques.

Great laugh line in the commentary of Volk-Islam 1 I heard rewatching it this morning. Islam hits Volk with a big left and Dom Cruz says “that’s the same left hand Justin Tafa hit Parker Porter with earlier in the night!” That’s right, Dom. It’s exactly the same.

Merab took a few classes in interpretive dance way back when, and that's how he expresses his art.

You're_Pusheen_It

hey slacks, i've seen a trend of fighters not throwing their arm back to counterbalance their kick. yan does this, especially that southpaw left kick to the liver yan is in southpaw > yan fakes a left straight > yan does a left kick to the liver, his left arm is just floating at ~45° in front of him IIRC most MMA fighters of old were believers of the muay thai technique with the arm thrown fully backwards. newer MMA fighters seem to be moving away from it. i could be misremembering, idk. thoughts?

Anyone else having issues with playback?
