Lovely article jack. One thing, do you think doumbe meant to achieve a full takedown with that kick to the back leg or could it be he was trying to break his balance to come in with the left hook. Idk the kick looked too soft to me to be an attempt to get a sweep

This is a response to something from this week's podcast episode, but I don't have a YoutTube account. Anyhow, Cedric Doumbe's level of fame in France isn't really from kickboxing. He was on some reality TV show; I only know this because it turns out my wife (who has zero interest in combat sports) knows who he is. Apparently he came across as extremely likable on the show. That lead to him developing a friendship with Mbappe, who apparently isn't actually into combat sports at all - he just watches all Doumbe's fights because they're mates.
