Hey everyone,

today's art update coming on a Wednesday - first, because I didn't post one last Friday. Second, because I'll be off to Dresden tomorrow, visiting the Maljam Jumble Festival and some nice people. 😎

So what's new?

Singing Doors

I already mentioned in some of my stories, Tweets etc. in the last weeks that I felt a little out of rhythm and routine after coming back from holidays. It's very common to me, but this time it felt even more weird. I was afraid of over-working myself, so I focused mostly on stuff other than drawing: playing games, drinking beer, but also non-drawing work like finishing the Plastic Playground brushes Vol. 2.

Luckily, I could push the commission work I have a few weeks, or clients were a bit slow on kicking things off anyway. So when I started a daily drawing routine again, I took the time to make something for fun, without any pressure first. As usual, this turned into a whole project, cause I somehow can not just make something without making plans for it 😅. The result: Singing Doors!

This is going to be a series of three house-front illustrations, inspired by different cities (Bruxelles, Porto and Berlin). They will all be revealed soon, but you will of course see them first, starting with No. 1 from Bruxelles. 🙂 More art and thoughts behind the project coming soon!

DTIYS challenge standings

I have to say that the challenge is starting very slow compared to others I had before. It's just that Instagram isn't the right platform to do these things any more. The reach, engagement and overall interest of the art community in interacting socially on Instagram is not the same as it has been. However I'm very happy to see some entries already and there will for sure be some more soon! 💜

AI art on Midjourney

Maybe you've seen yesterday's story on Insta: I'm experimenting for a while with AI art now. It's very inspiring to me, and of course a little creepy. I get very mixed responses by everyone on Instagram 😄.

I also gave away three invites, and they were gone so quickly! I'm currently looking to maybe get some more. If you want to join and need an invite, please comment under this post and I'll try to onboard you as well. That's a little Patran extra service.

Also, let me know how you think of AI art. Will it change the future of the creative community, or is it just a trend?

One of my Midjourney results: The full prompt: fantasy farm building made of wood, in the distance standing in a field, very tall building, extremely detailed, magical cinematic look, asian style, high res, trending on artstation, by Renato muccillo and Andreas Rocha and Johanna Rupprecht --hd --ar 9:16

That's it for today, take care and see you soon!- Stefan

I'd love to give MidJourney a try! I do architecture professionally so using it for conceptual visualization would be awesome (also everyone at my firm loves your axon drawings of A-frame cabins and other whimsical homes).

Dibs on singing doors! You work off a dibs payment process right? Just kidding, love your work and happy to now support you on patreon.

I would love to try MidJourney if an invite should present itself :)

I just got into MJ via the Discord, so I guess it's an open Beta now, or is there some extra special access I'm not aware of? Either way, it's fun to experiment with this thing. Love the new series by the way, big door fan myself :D
