Kalevala is Finnish National Epic. I have made few comics about the subject in the past in Finnish and Italian.

Very cool! Is Kaleva a celebration of Finnish culture and vikings? Wiki mentions "Kalevala Epic." Like Odyssey by Homer? Oh, Wikipedia diving is fun! Thanks for sharing.

It's collection of stories from Karelia. Yeah, it's kinda like Nordic mythology or other similar epics like Beowulf and such. It doesn't have vikings, but all kind of weird stuff like magic singing, magical mill that can mill riches etc. Fun fact, JRR Tolkien took lots of inspiration from Kalevala to LotR and Silmarillion. I think Elven language in his books is based on Finnish language.
