Hi Patrons!

I do hope it's not been "too long" since I last posted, things have been very chaotic. My family is needing a lot of my attention, so I am with them, and doing my best to help.

I have completed the first draft to my "pitch packet," a thing one needs to approach an agent/publisher. Still awaiting feedback, but I heard back from my buddy Alex who gave me a lot to chew on in the meantime.

What I've found—since "completing" book one of J THEM THEY—is that I become very miserable very quickly if I don't allow myself to work on the next book/comics. I just can't do all this adult stuff, and not make art. That is very clear now.

Honestly enough time had past, enough rust had gathered, that when I made what I thought were new entries to a new book, they were WAY too small.

 This is actually? Technically? my first foray into "strip style" comics! I'm already loving the challenge, but didn't foresee formatting/dimensions being an obstacle! An obstacle I have cleared, handily.

I'm hoping less time elapses between my next post, I want to talk about _QU3ST.

How the hell do I put this? I am J Them They, and they are also a fictional avatar/character. But it's literally just me. Do I refer to them? As me? Or do I talk about them in another tense?

My point is, hilariously, it's going to be some time before they actually do say something. They're so excited they're going to start making animal noises for the next half dozen strips ^_^;

Thanks for reading.

Have you read Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art, by Scott McCloud? Stupid question, probably. It's free on Internet Archive if you haven't. Absolutely blew my mind as a comics reader! He dedicates a whole chapters to how panels work in the art form.

Thanks for being so understanding <3

No such thing as a stupid question. And, yes. Also "Reinventing Comics" and "Making Comics." It's a pity his first actual graphic novel was. Uh...
