Hey peoples.

This is the final page (sorta) of There's More Than One. I wanted to pay my respect to Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P Johnson. There's not a ton of Trans heroes to idolize when you do some digging but these two are legends.

Arguably the first combatants in the Stonewall Uprising, they went on to form S.T.A.R or Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries. They worked to house homeless Trans youth, and to push forward the Gay Liberation movement.

Often excluded (they were even briefly banned from marching in NYC's Pride Parade in 1978) from their own movement, both women worked tirelessly to uplift those in need.

I've been doing a lot of research about both women and honestly Marsha was the one who captured my heart. Sylvia was probably the more organized of the two, but Marsha "Pay it no mind" Johnson was universally described as a saint. She, despite all her issues, strove to be kind above all things. That really spoke to me.

Anyway, Tumblr sucks and won't let me post 11 pages.

So the big Long Form that I alluded to there is going to have to be broken up into two parts. That's kind of OK though since I think this piece works as a stand alone.

So glad you like it! I was a little worried about the placement considering that Marsha threw herself (or was thrown) into the East River, where she drowned. In the Official Long Form of "There's More Than One" (available only in print form) you can actually see THE beacon on light that Marsha and Sylvia are holding up on page two: http://www.justinhubbell.com/more-than-one-2/

But I don't think the land mass I have them on (even if they are far too close to the edge for my comfort) could ever be mistaken for the Bronx ;-)
